I think the issue is that, so far, the French and Chinese are the only countries who have light tank lines that extend to tier 8. Neither of them have the (currently) dead-end tier 5 scouts, either.
While I'm a little miffed about my VK2801 and Chaffee (which I got quite recently) being nerfed, I don't think it's such a bad thing anyway. They're relics from a time when there weren't tier 7-8 light tanks running around with autoloaders that can dispatch my VK in 3 shots. Hell, I'm glad they're getting reduced matchmaking and leading on to higher tier tanks; taking a single hit from most tanks in a tier 10 battle usually almost kills me, but in a 13 90 it's something I can run away from and still be very combat effective.
And, since I love light tanks, I'll keep my Chaffee and VK and grind to the next tiers.
They honestly should have left the T5 scouts the way they are until they introduce higher tier lights.
Right now they make it look like they want to make 2801 drivers butthurt to compensate for all the HEAT shells they fired :v:

I generally like the Easy Eight becaose of its mobility and depression but most people here seem to enjoy the Jumbo more.

Normally I'd say E8, but the Wumbo is pretty god damn annoying with HEAT and its bouncy, shell magnet mantlet.

Yeah I had the E8 forever ago in the beta and just started playing again.

It has a very good gun for a Tier 6 TD but it's slow and has piss poor armor
Personally would go through the AT2 instead because it's hilarious

It's not quite as bad, though at times the view calculations can be annoying as fuck, more than once I've had someone pop out behind a rock, only to dissapear right in front of me, well within my view range, and shoot me.
I also hated the general feeling of uselessness in the first matches I played but I assume that goes away if I just keep playing
reading up on tactics etc helps, also knowing your tank, its role and limitations.
the matchmaking also means that, at least until you've got a good upgraded tank and learned how to play it, sometimes you can be a bit useless, due to being outclassed either by the tank tiers or player skill, other times, you luck out and can feel like you've really contributed.
Like my story a couple of pages back, that battle could have quite easily left me feeling useless, or it be a bit rage inducing, but it wasn't.
taken a liking to the game and light tanks in particular, any tips?
