Just had a hilarious match,a KV managed to pin me against a wall, in such a way that there was no chance I'd be able to hit him. I'm at full health, another tank on my side is at low health, guess who the KV driver tries to take out (me, when im in a position of absoloutely zero threat) and completely ignores the other driver who promptly drives behind him and fucks him up.
Another match in my stug, an arty kills my driver, so i chase that fucker down and cliff jump to throw in the final revenge shot against him.
I'm pretty new to this game so perhaps this is my inexperience showing through, but I have to ask: is "blame the artillery" the running joke for this game?
Arty really is the cancer of the game. Almost all of the problems of the game stem from them. If you disagree, you've either not played long enough, never been 1 shotted by a T8 arty, or are an arty player. It's the longest running most broken game mechanic I've ever seen in a video game.
When do we expect the TC to be going up tomorrow?

That combined with the god awful spotting system.
Can't wait for the day when WoT gets an actual competitor and they have to actually start giving a fuck about their broken game mechanics, or risk losing their "community".

being instagibbed by something you cant see is usually the reason for complaints

Isn't that the day War Thunder adds tanks?
Playing a HEATzer in a tier 4 match is like clubbing seals. Baby seals.
I didn't use HEAT in that match though.
I didn't use HEAT in that match though.
you can tell because all those hits didn't 1 shot them

Isn't that basically the point of tank destroyers?
I guess my question is: what differentiates artillery from the sniper classes you find in most other competitive shooter games?

Because of the shitty view mechanics.
Like the other day, a tank promptly jumped out from behidn a rock, a couple of meters away from me and then fucking dissapeared. At least with most shooters if they can see you, you can see them (whether or not you actually pay attention and look at them is another matter)
Just finished a match in my Stug, 6 kills, from full hp, reduced the enemies to 3 left against 5 of us...of course, we lost.

Oh, so you mean the top-down view is broken?
Oh, so you mean the top-down view is broken?
No, I mean the viewing mechanic overall is shitty.
Plus SPG drivers are usually whiny crybabies who bitch about nobody defending them despite the fact that they're usually nowhere near enemy tanks.
I downloaded the WOT Tank Viewer application, but I can't find anything relating to showing armor thickness in it, and the MO Reader link on the page doesn't seem to do anything useful at all.
What am I missing?
When you pick your tank, go to the options tab on the right and select 'collision'

I have to agree with you on the viewing mechanic; having tanks go invisible is rather silly. Though, having the game be more realistic might make many maps unplayable (particularly open maps with clear sight lines).

Then maybe they should remove the shitty open maps
Woot, got Ace, sniper and sharpshooter for my Stug, 1.3k xp and 38k silver. 18 shots, 16 direct hits 15 penetrations, for 1.8k of damage. All in under 5 minutes too.

Do you guys remember when we were all going to quit for Mechwarrior Online? And then War Thunder? And then Planetside 2?
Those were the days.
I just can't express how much retarded bullshit I witnessed this round
At the start of the round, our T-25 started by saying 'valley or GTFO'... naturally, most of the idiots on our team listened to him. Well, I better do good in city... was my only thought as I watched, quite literally, 2/3 of my team head into valley while only a Cromwell and a PzIV helped me in city.
By the time I'm done wiping the floor in city, I look at my map and notice EVERY SINGLE TANK THAT WENT VALLEY DIED.
The T-25 started spouting bullshit about 'hurr watch the dev video, it says you should never take city in any map and that valley should be the main push'. Then, the magical line of 'Well you guys got bogged down in city' made me wonder if this guy is truly retarded in the brain.
So, after me and a cromwell managed to reset cap (and he dies in his efforts), I end up against a full health T-150 that rolled down mid and killed me in one shot.
I tried. I really did. Next time you see smilidon, please kill him.

It's always the same sad story on Lakeville. If you see the majority of your team following the lemming retard train into the valley you might aswel drive into the lake. You always lose.

The KV-1S would have almost won by capping if it weren't for the fact that EVERYONE ELSE DIED on that side of the map.
Against my better judgement ive returned to the world of tanks.
Before I go spending any time playing those new chinese tanks, are they good? y/n

wow only been gone for about 3-4 months and I do not remember being this inaccurate when firing stationary

I don't know if you two have played a couple little games known as Red Orchestra and Darkest Hour, but those games have ginormous open maps with no retarded spotting system. It works in those games because the mappers gave you hills and bushes to hide behind, but the bushes don't go invisible when you get a certain distance, so you have to pick cover that still lets you see out, and of course this is going to reveal some portion of your tank to do so. WoT could work in much the same way, they just need to make maps bigger and remove the spotting system, but they need to give you actually useful cover. I'm just really tired of this system that doesn't make it so that if they see you, you can see them as well. There's many ways to make the game better than it is now but WG seems content with it, so what are we to do but wait till they reveal how they're changing the camo mechanics.
Okay scout, just keep ratin' me dumb without providing counter points. At this point I'm not sure you're even reading my posts before you rate them dumb. Tell me how would you improve upon this then?
I swear they fucked up shot mechanics secretly. Most of my Churchill 75mm shots go wide by a good margin.

Darkest Hour tanking, so much fun. I might have to reinstall that again.

Well.
That was interesting.

I got a Radley Walters medal and a WIN for once, after blitzing through the south/town part of the map... all while myself and the T20 are being raged at by the enemy team.
The T-34 started it off, whining about being put in a tier 7 match (which only had a couple of 7s), and was later killed by our T20.

Apparently it's a bad thing to shoot an enemy who's killing my teammates?

Because arty like to one shot tanks that are extremely expensive to repair and ruin your match by lowering your health to the point you really can't contribute to your time or have fun and forces you to stay behind cover at times.
Nobody is kidding about arty here, it's a overpowered piece of bullshit game mechanic that even Wargaming.net emits at times is broken, but they still refuse to remove it or even change it so it isn't OP. Should I also mention that SPGs are almost the only vehicles in game that can reliably take out half your crew and modules in a single shot, no matter if it's a direct hit or not? It also completely negates the advantage of having heaving armor along with gold rounds(that SPGs can also access to boost up their OP'ness even more).
Dedicated SPG players are literally the scum of this game's community, but they also have a near-religious following whose job is it to bitch if Wargaming nerfs them or to flame players who suggest nerfing them and try to claim that the entire mechanic prevents camping(it actually causes it) and is realistic, but last time I checked M7 Priests didn't one shot kill Tiger tanks from half-way across the fucking battlefield and even modern artillery doesn't get to the view the battlefield through the eyes of god.
Hell before the artillery "Nerfs" in 8.3, some SPGs were better tank destroyers than some of the actual TDs in direct-fire mode and some arties like the Grille are pain in the asses to kill because they're very accurate in direct fire.

Holy shit, he unironically called the Jumbo the Easy 2. I didn't think people still did that. The only Easy is the Easy 8 :v:

All things considered, I'd say it's still valid. I've got two Radley Walters, 5 Steel Walls, and all within 50 battles or so and a 63% win ratio. It's an amazingly fun tank, whether I'm using the heavy turret and 105, or the 'better' turret and the long 76.
