I think maybe you misunderstood. I know the centurion will be good but if I were to use my free xp to get the rest of the way and unlock the tank, then I would be stuck with a stock tank, so basically a glorified comet.
If I were to keep grinding and then use the XP to unlock tracks/turret or something on the centurion, it'd mean the tank was less useless than stock.

Currently pushing the Tiger and Panther. My Panther, I'm getting the hang of but my Tiger just feels like a tinfoil box that has "SHOOT ME" painted on all four sides.
My T71 is kicking ass, but it's not really a VII as much as it's a scout. Whole different ball game.

Ground out some XP with my 15 Premium and Elite tanks and bought my way out of that thing.
The T21 does play like the Chaffee but for what ever reason, it's not as fun as the Chaffee

damn, just played a turn arty fuck game with the 1s
we are losing with 3 of us and 6 of them left, 4 being arty.
1 of us is arty. me and the church are pushing up, and the church gets lit up by arty and starts spamming help, he then gets killed by a jgpz and starts flaming the team (cant complain) so i circle the jzpz and take it out from full health...
BUT THEN, i get tracked by an arty shot and in the following 5 seconds go from full hp to dead with so many explosions i couldn't see the tank

Not really.
If it's a Teir VII match and all I have to worry about are two T29s then maybe. But that's rarely the case.
The hull is a damn square box and very hard to angle. Each side has such a large surface area that finding the perfect balance is near impossible in a fluid battle. And there is ZERO angle on any of those sides.
The gun is great, even the mid 88 you have before the top gun. But the gun doesn't make up for the fact that the tiger is a early tank design that is constantly facing more modern designs.
Drag the Tiger into a Tier VII or IX battle and you're basically fucked.

I love the Su-85. It doesnt have the 107 anymore but its still pretty good for a tier 5 in my opinion. Still does decent damage and has a good fire rate. I prefer it over the Stug

2) Finally got my T-54. Would've gotten it sooner but I've been mostly platting with a friend who doesn't have anything above Tier 6 because I can't stand to play alone in this sea of shitlords. First game in it I got creamed because lol finally a medium with armor and it means nothing because glod rounds erry-whar. Got 2nd class in the second though, so it's a pretty okay tank so far.

I dislike arty nerfs - I mean to accuracy, etc - because making it more random makes it neither more challenging nor more fun to play for victims and spg alike. They need to change the game mechanics. Well, if they don't want to do away with the god's-eye overhead view (imagine playing arty by having to guess the elevation and spot the splash on the minimap!), I had another idea.
If arty gets to see what we tankers are doing, we should be able to see what those arty are doing, right? They should put a big reticule on the ground to show where the arty shell is about to fall. Like artillery/air strikes in MechCommander. Sure, stick a countdown timer on it too :P
I'm thinking they should also slow down shell speed, and make a sound for the artillery shell.
Firstly they won't be able to hit tanks going full speed as easily, and the sound makes it easier to predict where the shell is going to land.

Also increase the volume of the SPG firing so it's easier to hear them, both to find them and to know that they're firing.
Gnomefather's has that sorta sound effect. I don't like it though, it seems to only do it for teammate's shots.
