Yep, progress toward my E75 is grinding to a halt....
I haven't played world of tanks in like two weeks, and I am happy. I will probably start playing again when the next patch comes out though.
Well, E75 and Centurion achieved this weekend. Magic. Last game in my Tiger II was against a shit tonne of tier 9s and 10s. I still come out with the most XP and I even did majority of damage to an E100.

So there I was. On Sand River on an encounter battle. I was mopping up the northern side of the map, picking off light tanks with my little spitball cannon. I didn't realize that the southern flank failed in defending the cap and so there were 6 tanks piling on it. I put maximum overdrive of 15 kmph and made my way to the point. The rest of their team got lit up and the TDs and arty standing by to reset their cap. I charged in, taking on two other matildas and a Lee that tried to ram me. Needless to say that they all got wasted.

Because using AP on the german short-short 105 is buttfucking retarded. It's a howitzer, you either use HEAT or HE's with it. Thats like using AP's on the KV-2's 152.
Hmm, any idea why a KV-1s with a 122mm cannon can do so much damage to the front plates of a Super pershing?
Just had 3/4 shots from a KV-1s do damage to the frontal plates of my tank. I thought the Super P had like 3 spaced plates....
I swear they were HE shots aswell

just one spaced plate, wg simplified the hitboxes of the SP so that the spaced plates are just counted as one, instead of several layers on top of eachother

Well, considering that the 105 has 64mm of penetration with AP, and most tier 3-5 tanks have armour less than that (Stug has 30mm rear armor for instance), its worth carrying a few rounds.

Don't you get around 45 or 50 pen with HE's with the 105? You're better off just carrying HE's to guarantee the damage, and HEAT's for when you want to ruin someones day. It's not worth the chance of bouncing when you have a 7 or 8 second reload at tier 5 (or 4 if you're in a hetzer)

AP has two advantages that HE does not have. The first is normalization, but the second is the annoying tendency to fail to penetrate when you hit anything outside a flat piece of armor (this is the same reason why HESH is an iffy round in world of tanks). Often times you can hit an area you would normally penetrate, but due to some feature, you do not, as HE shells explode upon the first thing they hit.

I personally would prefer to do 53 damage in an off chance hit with HE, than not pen and do 0 damage with an off chance hit with AP. Moral of the story is, use HEAT.

Currently I'm only playing on the weekends since I have important exams this month so I can't afford to spend time on gaming as much as I used to. While I'm not that disappointed, it saddens me I'll finish grinding my T28 later.

No you don't, but if you decide to get the gun first you should get the turret after it. Also, don't bother getting the last engine as the extra horsepower it gives over the second one doesn't seem to make a difference.

The way I read it, the Chieftan prototype may still replace the FV215b (120) when it's done, but it doesn't look like we'll get a swap over free tank, as the Brit TD line will be out first. I'm also suspicious that they might limit the gun traverse of the FV215b (183), as it was in the plans. The thing would just tip over if the gun was turned to the back.
The only problem is, as far as I can tell, the FV215b (120) is an entirely fictional vehicle.
