I've been working on a model of the psychology of artillery players and the most I can refine it to (for this kind of situation) is that if there is a teammate close to an enemy about to kill the enemy, they will try to steal the kill and almost always end up hitting you. They will always try to steal the kill, regardless if there is an enemy artillery spotted and not moving and you two are both sliding down a hill.

Also, if they say they are targeting something, they will fire regardless. To them, they gave you ample warning mere moments before the shell arrives.

Reminds me of something that happened a long time ago:
I was in the Tiger facehugging a stock IS and had him down to 200 HP, I still had about a thousand HP (he couldn't do anything to me, I was already damaged from an earlier shot). The enemy SU-8 fires at me. He kills his own IS and does a negligible amount to me and I just repair my tracks and roll on.
Someone please tell me that arty players have brain cells, because I disagree.

Well, if the IS was dead either way, I can see the point in trying. If the SU-8 had gotten a lucky shot he could have saved the IS, and if he TKed the IS it would just end his life a bit quicker.

Yeah artillery players have the lowest IQ of them all.
But it reminds me of one time in my T49 I think when I took cover behind a enemy tank that I tracked and their artillery killed him.
But artillery is why I avoid face hugging at all costs.

I still think its stupid to do that to your own teammate in a pubbie round (plus I think he may have been shooting at us earlier, but he kept missing. I remember seeing arty splash around us since the beginning of the fight.). I could see it happening in a Clan Battle at a time of absolute need, but that arty is willing to TK just to get XP or money. It was a Tier 8 and 9 battle for the most part (this was before the MM change) so he had plenty of other targets he could have been shooting at.
I just don't like that.
(also, I didn't engage in the facehugging at first, the IS just came up to the path I was guarding on Abbey and I only started facehugging when I realized he didn't have a decent gun)

I usually seem to come out on top in a chaffee, regardless of the tier battle. Unless I do something really horrible like being insta killed.
So I am thinking of selling my KV-2 once I elite it, keep my crew in barracks, and then switch to German scout line to prove my friend that it's a viable line of tanks.

You will be happy to know that I tk'd an arty for doing this exact shit two days ago. I told him anyone willing to take a shot on a friendly is a liability to the team. He was quite mad lol.
