Lee is fine if you play it right (like a TD. It has a good gun. the big weak spot on top sucks though.) pz38na has fucking terrible matchmaking (gets put in as scout tank, but has no maneuverability, so i agree with you.) Dunno about the rest.
The A-20 is a box of wet kleenex with a rubber-band gun mounted on top, its only good aspect is pure speed (up to 70KPH in a tier 4), but with my luck in it all it takes is ONE hit to ruin your day because it'll either track you, set you on fire, kill your engine, or just out-right annihilate you.

Even if in horrible condition.
In my experience, A-20 usually have been able to take a single shot and get away with it's life. Even if in horrible condition.
I played it back before the normalization changes so it was MUCH easier to pen.
A-20 does fucking great against its tier though, In my experience anyway.
does fucking great against its tier though
this applies to any tank in the game
played in tank companies for the first time in a year or so won every match except one, played with boboerror's clan so we had a lot of coordination (and fun) used my hellcat
Are tank companies worthwhile?
M3 lee, A-20, Panzer 38 na, VK4502 Ausf B, VK3001P, Jagdpanzer 4, and nearly all low tier frenchies are usually regarded as the worst tanks in the game But a tanks performance depends entirely on the player and playstyle, there's some people who loved these tanks.
M3 Lee is situationally decent as a tank destroyer, gun is somewhat bad for it's tier and horrible profile but decent front armor. Pz38NA is a really good tier 4 light, basically a Leopard that goes farther own the tech tree. The VK3001P fully upgraded is decent but the grind there is horrific. Agree on the rest though. A-20, VK4502B, and Jagdpanzer IV simply do not match up with the tanks they are supposed to be fighting in any theoretical or practical sense.
Can someone explain how the T82 isn't overpowered as all hell?
Question: Does camo net still work on light tanks when moving?
Question: Does camo net still work on light tanks when moving?
nope you have to be stationary for 5 seconds for the camo net to activate
nope you have to be stationary for 5 seconds for the camo net to activate
I was asking because I knew camo skill works on light tanks all the time, but not on other tanks. So I didn't know if camo net was the same way.
nope you have to be stationary for 5 seconds for the camo net to activate
I thought it was 3 seconds?
Cent Mk.1: 36 Battles 27 Victories 9 Defeats Shits going good.
I was asking because I knew camo skill works on light tanks all the time, but not on other tanks. So I didn't know if camo net was the same way.
No no no. All tanks use the same mechanics. Each tank has a base value for stationary camo, and a value for moving camo. For most/all light tanks, the moving value is the same as the stationary value. The crew skill camo works the same on all tanks, and adds to both stationary and moving. The camo net works the same on all tanks, and adds to stationary after sitting still 3s. The only reason crew skill camo and camo net are less useful on some tanks (eg heavies) is because the base values are so bad, not because the mechanics are different.
So no one says that any tank is just better than another one, but are there any bad tanks that I should avoid?
Out of all the tanks i've played there is one that stands out as the worst for me, arl v39, a tier 6 td that starts with a tier 3 gun when stock, no armor, big ass weakspot that you can't hide and even when fully upgraded its not any fun. Other than that there is some particular branches you should avoid at all cost, and that's the artillery branches.
98% downloaded, about to begin playing this game. Tell me things
Other than that there is some particular branches you should avoid at all cost, and that's the artillery branches.
Partly because artillery players are assholes, present company notwithstanding. But also because when you do eventually reach the end of an artillery tree, you will look at it sitting in your garage and wonder, why? Why had you done it? What have you become? A monster. You stared too long into the abyss and it stared back. Before you knew it you were turning tricks in a Priest just to get by and the rest? Well, the rest was history. Now you are stuck. You can't sell it, you invested too much of your life towards bringing it into this world. And now like a malignant tumor that cannot be excised for the life of it's host you must wear it around your neck every day of your tanking career.
98% downloaded, about to begin playing this game. Tell me things
I think run while can is still a reasonable suggestion. If not then stay away from any artillery line. More advice as I remember.
98% downloaded, about to begin playing this game. Tell me things
ur life is over ;)
98% downloaded, about to begin playing this game. Tell me things
Play with friends as much as you can, the random pubbies you end up with are awful as fuck and just having one team mate that you can trust should make the game more pleasurable. Don't go into a match expecting a victory, if you manage to kill 11 tanks by yourself or heck even 14, you will most likely lose, they are just that fucking bad. The rare occasions when you win is mostly because the other team happend to be more braindead than yours. Dicerolls, you will miss the most perfect shots whenever you need it to hit because the game runs purely on dicerolls, same with wether a shot will pen, hit the weakspot, how much damage and other shit. If you really, and I mean really like german tanks then go for it, otherwise stay away since it's the nation which requires experienced players to do well with, bit the same with french tanks and chinese tanks. So start out with US, USSR or the British. Don't play artillery at all, light tanks though you should once you got some experience and know the layout for the maps and how to avoid getting shot. Learn the weakspots of the tanks and learn how to cover your own weakspots. Last but not least, what server are you on? Should always be some friendly facepunchers you can team up with.
The biggest tip I can give to new World of Tanks players is to mind your positioning and be patient. A huge part of the game is about being at the right place at the wrong time, or atleast not being at the wrong place. Stay back, watch chokepoints, learn how parts of the map cover you from enemy artillery, and don't rush. Typically games aren't won by a hot shot tank driver using lightning quick reflexes and good aim but more a slow, methodical, organized push by a team who knows where to be and when.
98% downloaded, about to begin playing this game. Tell me things
Don't play artillery. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] emphasis

"Guys lets all go city and leave the other flank open" Whole team proceeds to get themselves killed by 3-4 tanks. Or you are the only one pushing up at the right time with the right numbers behind you, because obviously the best idea is to go one by one and leaving the first guy to die while the rest snipe. Or you got the redshire typical pubbie strat which is to all sit on the hill and get mardered by the enemy team every single time.
How do I send in a replay to the guys with the banhammers? I've been having a fun time in my T82, but in Himmelsdorf I go to check out the 7/8 line for trouble; there's plenty of enemies there, so I go to reverse, but a Marder II is right behind me, deliberately trapping me in the line of fire, who then proceeds to shit talk me. I'm pretty sure he tries the same thing on an AMX 38 later in the game. I'd love to get him banned.
I'm starting to get fucking annoyed of the T14, the gun is absolutely worthless. If I face a well armored tank I'm pretty much fucked unless I use glod ammo, and using just 5 glod ammos make me lose money, even with premium. It just doesn't make any money if I want to actually do well. Fucking KV-1 and their bullshit armor.

What ensues is a decently fun fighting retreat to try and stall their advance. The fun ends when I look at the map and see our team losing despite outnumbering them at every other avenue.
This Chinese T34/85 is so inferior to the Russian one. Horrible top gun, almost literally no gun depression. It's terrible.
