I wonder what happens if some production company decided to make a whole animated drama series based on Katawa Shoujo.

It would be shit because pre-defined path, companies doing it for the money, KS becoming more mainstream etc

It would be just like Touhou, with it becoming mainstream there are also loads of haters, wannabes that don't even know about VN and more shit fan content (there would be more good content too though)

There is already plenty of haters and bad content for KS. And besides touhou is a jumbled mess that nobody can sort out so of course most of its fans have not played the source material.

The devs don't really make something out of the increased popularity, otherwise they'd have some way of gaining money from it, which they don't. They don't sell merchandise, allow for donations or anything else money related. They only thing they could gain from it is extra popularity, but they already said it wouldn't work/they don't want it to happen.

that was my first idea, but that would be awkward as fuuuuck to watch
Maybe, but I was thinking removal of H-content, and have each minichapters their own style, kinda like how artwork in each arc changed cos different artists sort of thing. I'm no anime expert but pretty sure this is common for multiple studios to work on different 'episodes' of a short films collection (Gotham knight, that gay as fuck Halo thing, I don't know any other :v:)
They could do it like amagami SS or whatever it is, I didn't watch it but i think they go through each girls arc in like a span of three episodes or so.

Hold on, wasn't there some animation studio experimenting with a KS anime already? I remember it being mentioned on the official blog long ago (even before the final release?) along with some god-awful-looking snapshots. Or am I talking nonsense here? Let me google it...
