So that's why I'm leaving this letter for you and Lilly, Hisao. By the time you read this I will have taken my own life so you and Lilly can have a wonderful future together. Hisao I really do love you, but I couldn't live with the guilt of knowing I crushed Lilly's dream of marriage with you after she had been so caring to me. Goodbye Hisao. Even though she may pretend it doesn't bother her to see her best friend leave what may as well be permanently, Hanako proves she doesn't like sharing her feelings without prompt during the route itself. Well, I mean the girl is pretty cooky (and the no arms thing too) but not really [I]that[/I] damaged or what have you-. It's like comparing Carrie to Zooey Deschanel. I think it made me feel a little warm and fuzzy inside at the end, but not really "[B][I]Oh my"[/I][/B]
Ok, so I started to play through katawa shoujou yesterday, causing me to play through the night, into the morning. I managed to complete the Emi story ark on my first playthrough. Even though I "Had no feels" I could see it was a very well written, story driven game. The music is always right for the mood, although disappointingly wasn't particularly high quality. At first I thought the backgrounds where ugly and out of place, but after about half an hour of playing they started t fit and feel right. In game sprites where very well drawn and coloured, although some characters seemed like they didn't quite fit together, the art style and shading were different. I found this most obvious when you where on the roof with Rin and Emi. The game seemed to be very well made, I was surprised at the quality after finding out that it was infact and indie game. I assumed that from the quality of the content that I had seen from it that it was from a big company. The characters themselves had a lot of depth to them, although I'm still unsure as to why Misha goes to Yamaku, and the wiki only gives me theorys. One of the reasons I got interested in playing this game was because I thought it was a porn game, but in a way this put me off, I didn't want it to ruin the story, and honestly it didn't, there have been anime that I have watched where there have been sex scenes that have ruined it, and made it so I couldn't take it seriously, but it is part of the story, it needs to be there and it works.
I am planning to start a new story soon and will post results, all in all a good game, I recommend that anyone who hasn't played this does, its well worth the time.
I've done every arc except for bacon lady. The one that I could possibly relate to the most is getting pushed off the rooftop. I shit you not..

There's generally 2 theories about why Misha attends Yamaku.
1. She wants to become more proficient in sign language.
2. Based on some of her character traits, she's got OCD/ADHD or something like it.

I remember a line of dialogue somewhere that says perfectly normal students can attend. There is also some dialogue that says the school only accepted [I]physically[/I] handicapped students, ruling out the possibility she has a mental issue.
I don't remember who said these things but that just means I'll have to play some more!

I do remember they don't accept flat-out retarded students but everything else seems fair game. So it could be both.

That's weird because if you have ADHD or OCD IRL you go to a completely normal school.
I know this, because I am a happy "victim" of that disorder. To be more precise, I have THREE brain disorders and ONE genetic syndrome: Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD and finally Fragile X syndrome, and I have never been to any school for "special" people.

Misha chose Yamaku because they have reduced tuition fees for students who are looking to gain experience working with people with disabilities as preparation for future studies (she wants to become a sign teacher, as revealed in Shizune's arc). Why she does that however is never clearly revealed.
I played this game, and I can say its pretty alright.
