I know I should probably contribute more than just stopping by to say I've completed a route, but I don't really have much else that hasn't already been posted. Maybe when I'm done all the routes?
Shizune's route was alright, but I can definitely recognise the flaws. [sp]Jigoro was waaay too over the top, I can't really think of any reasons why he would be written like that, and I was fairly bored until Act 3, but even then it took a while to get involved.
Probably because there was only one choice, and I knew that I'd feel a bit unsatisfied because of how I couldn't really control Hisao's actions (although I guess that's sorta the point)[/sp], but honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. I liked the route, all things considered.
[sp]A general lack of strong feels, but in the end, it felt good knowing it was going to be alright.[/sp]
I feel the same way about Shizune's route, though her [sp]sex scene(s) was a lot better then the other's I saw, Emi and Hanako[/sp]. But it was a nice change of pace from Emi and Hanako's [sp]knight in shining armor but not really[/sp] story line.

Welp, I finally finished Rin's arc, my final one. My thoughts on the experience are a bit scattered but damn, that was heavy. My year of abstinence from the game had me build up tolerance towards the emotions the game content induces, so while playing this arc didn't put me in anything close to a wreck this time around I can't deny there was some scenes that really got to me.
I didn't think of it it until now, but I recall people calling Rin's arc the darkest of them all. I can sort of see why now (though can't decide if I agree or not). There is something special about the writing in this arc in particular. I feel that it makes the development of events weigh extra heavily somehow.
Will think about this some more.

They're jarringly sudden and just... weird... in comparison to the rest of the game

Hanako is probably the worst. Lilly scenes are hawt. Emi is just awkward. Misha is scandalous, and quite cute. Shizune is hawt if you are into spontaneous [sp]bondage[/sp]. Rin is quite emotional actually.

Second with Shizune was my preferred of the two.

You can always disable them, which just replaces it with pictures of random things (bonus points for getting [sp]fried shrimp during Hanako's scene.[/sp]), but if you think the scenes are jarring I can't imagine how you'd feel about looking at stuff like that.

Well think of it like a book, in a way. The premise is sort of out there, but the execution is what matters.
I'd say it could definitely qualify as a book. I've read several books that gave me "feels" and had me thinking back to it a long time after I finished reading them.
I'd probably read more if books weren't so hard to "pick up".

use a guide if you can on her route because instead of quickly punishing you for a wrong choice (like most routes do) her's will just drag out until the end

You get Lilly points as you go through iirc, get enough good ones and you'll get the good ending, too few and then neutral.
Act 2: [sp]First off, admit that you were thinking about her on the way back from the town[/sp]
Act 3: [sp]Then address the point, don't skirt it.[/sp]
Act 4: [sp]Admit Iwanako's letter for a bonus to Lilly points and to get the good ending, ignore for neutral.[/sp]
You have to get the last one correct to get the good ending, but I think you've got to have made the right decision in 2 or 3 in addition to that.
[sp]She basically hates dodging questions, answer her when she asks something. Most other questions don't affect it, you can humour or ignore Kenji for example.[/sp]
