Isn't Segue pronounced Se-gue? (seg-way)
Talking bout that. I wonder if emi could use a segway.

That would require her to not run everywhere.

I've always pronounced segue as sayzh.
don't forget to bring the lemons
Why ?
I ended up playing this after hearing all the fuss about it, ended up completing both Lilly's and Hanako's routes.
I just don't know anymore, jesus christ. The game does an excellent job of making you feel great and then like a piece of shit ten minutes later.
Very well written and expressed despite Hisao acting like a complete retard at points, despite characters following stereotypes in some regards they do feel like they've got quite a lot of depth to them.
bretty gud, I plan on completing all routes once I get around to it
Why ?
Some things are best discovered for yourself :v:
segue-way, not segway. segways are the little things that nerds and disney world employees ride on.
Bullshit when I worked there I never rode on one of those
if you guys are hankering for more KS, you can always [sp]read the fanfic rewrite that me a friend are working on.[/sp] No this isn't shameless self-promotion [sp]yes it is[/sp]

I just want a Misha route. She's become my favorite, and even if she's still the same Misha in it I'd still like to pursue that for a full playthrough rather than her just being a sidestory to Shizune.
well i mean
there is that super awkward scene with her
it's not a true route but it's something

That's what I meant by her being a sidestory.

I dunno how that would work considering [sp]she's already hopelessly in love and a lesbian.[/sp]

I thought she had [sp]single target sexuality?[/sp]
I thought she had [sp]single target sexuality?[/sp]
It's never really explained fully, a lot is left up to imagination.
[sp]She definitely loves Shizune, but it's not really stated if she is lesbian, bi or just attracted to Shizune. Hell, it could even be puppy-love, despite what she says, she might just have thought she loved Shizune.[/sp]
[editline]11th February 2013[/editline]
That said, a Misha route wouldn't have worked, as she was [sp]certainly obsessed over Shizune at the time.[/sp]
Speaking of Misha, I certainly would frequent the Shanghai if this happened.

I feel as if there were a canon Misha route, the Shizune route would be very much different. One of the reasons most didn't like the Shizune route as much IMO was because it didn't focus on either Shizune or Hisao, but Misha instead.
Lilly's route focused on Hisao.
Emi and Rin's routes focused on them.
Hanako's route focused on both Hisao and Hanako.
Shizune's route focused on a different, third character.

I personally didn't like the Shizune route because there was pretty much NO decision-making except for that one part, and everything else excluding the encounters with her 40-megadouche father just felt mechanical, like you were in a relationship with an automaton or something.
I would've liked Shizune's arc a lot more if it had focused more on the problems with the three-way relationship between the characters. It feels like the writer missed the epic opportunity for a love triangle drama, and instead ended up writing an unfocused linear sequence of events that for the most part (up until the end) didn't touch upon that issue.
As a character, I really like Shizune, but her route needed a bit more work. Wasn't it the most rushed route, due to major design changes at the last minute?
Had a slightly awesome moment recently.
I was talking to someone who had joined my school at the start of year. She's pretty cool, talk to her about video games and shit every now and then. Talking about anime one time and trying to remember the name of one character, as i reply with i think it was Shizune, she says "Oh, whenever i hear Shizune i think of... Have you ever played and Ero-game?"
The following conversation freaked out nearby people a little bit.

Stuff like that, compounded with the different art-styles standing out like a sore thumb in many instances, not to mention a few wording issues (some sentences didn't make sense the way they were presented, at least to me, the wording could've been a lot better in many instances) leads me to believe that rather than a sequel, a revised edition would be preferable. Same premise, same characters, just a major over-haul on art consistency and story/interaction. Possibly even prolonging the story a little bit.

How does that even segue?

I think i said this before and i'll say it again, decision making isn't really a focus of most visual novels, even games that are more choice-heavy such as F/SN really boiled down to death scene/continuation of the route and most games the choices are usually good end/bad end or route 1/route 2. It doesn't seem right to judge one on choice-making, there are some problems in shizunes route for sure but i don't think that the choices were one of them.

What I meant was it's more like you get more dialogue options with everyone else and that her story line seems really bland in comparison. After finishing up each "good" ending I'm starting to go back and get all the bad/neutral ones, and having done hers it was pretty much exactly the same up until a certain point, which was pretty boring to me.
It's not so much a lack of decision-making as it is a lack of dialogue, I find it helps to immerse me in the story more when there's a break in the reading and it asks for input on what this sweatervest-wearing loser should do next. Makes it feel less like I'm just a by-stander watching it all in the 3rd-person, but that's just how I am I guess. I'm not asking for typical date-sim level of dialoque option, but the thing I enjoyed most about Rin's story was the amount of user input the game asks for which, as said, really helped to immerse me in her story more. It also makes the story over-all feel more expansive than just reading down one long linear path from start to finish.
How does that even segue?
Not sure i follow.

I mean, how exactly does someone bring that up so nonchalantly?

"Say, by the way, do you happen to know of an interactive visual novel by the name of 'Katawa Shoujo'? It's a rather delightful story about a young man who has a serious heart attack, and as a result he has been transferred to a special school where he eventually winds up fornicating one of five young crippled lasses! Absolutely splendid, I say!"
