Just got done with Lillys arc, easily my favorite out of all the ones I've done so far.

The development process was biased towards lilly's arc, it's quite clear that more effort went into hers than any other. It's also quite clear that shizune's arc was forcibly cut short.

It would have been nice if all the paths had epilogues like Lilly's had. Why do you think Shizune's arc was cut short though?, it felt pretty long to me.

It was long, but it was clear that the writer had intended to flush it out much further. The ending is abrupt and it shows, and hardly any character development takes place. It's clear that they were pressured by the dev team to trim back on what was most likely a personal vision of a project far beyond the established reach of the other routes.

While I admit it's mostly speculation, there's a lot of support for the Lilly argument. Aura is more or less the defacto project leader (self proclaimed 'head writer'), and also the writer of Lilly's route. Lilly has the most in game resources (character sprites, artwork), arguably the longest running route (possibly second to Shizune's), and is the only one of the girls to have an [sp]Epilogue.[/sp] Lilly's route has the longest timespan (as in, in the game's universe), no other girl's route even comes close [sp]except for Shizune.[/sp] Not so for the Shizune argument but the patterns are definitely in place.
