I started picking up on this lately. Apparently went through Kenji's "arc". I gotta say that left me feeling really sad. Like honestly, almost started crying right fucking there.
Kenji had the most feels hands down

It depends which route you played; if Shizune's was one of them, I'm not very surprised.
I didn't even find out about KS until about a week after it came out, and I think that this could be both a good thing and a bad thing. While waiting for a release builds up hype (which can be pretty fun), the final product would probably have less of an impact than when I went in dark.
I knew about the game for about a year prior to its release, but only in bits and pieces from people occasionally posting about it on various boards. I got around to playing it two weeks prior to its release, ironically I didn't know it was only a demo and was pleasantly surprised to know the full version was coming out soon.

I knew about KS for about 3 years, but it didn't diminish the experience for me when the full game came out at all.
I think the most horrible irony in the whole situation is that hanako's house burned down just as she was getting ready for her first day at Yamaku Academy. She was already in her uniform and everything.
