No, it wasn't. But hooray, we can make more preparations. I hope notch makes a drain block, like:

= is Gold/diamond/iron/steel/etc.

Which allows water through it, but still has collision. (Maybe to prevent spamming in survival, therefore making it too easy, make it so you cannot place squares larger than 4x4, or it will collapse)

THIS! I've wanted ladders of any kind for a while now.

Also a better fire mechanic might be better. Thought it is fun crafting a fire pit or furnace to make crafting easier without accidentally lighting your house on fire.

Simple doors would also be nice: a block where hitting it toggles it between passable and impassable.

Notch isn't adding ladders. He's said that tons of times. Ropes, vines, or anything else you can 'climb' are all ladders.

And this isn't an FPS, more weapons especially 'guns' would just influence mingey behaviour.

Does anyone have any idea as to why I can't find any other ore besides coal. It's pissing me off.

I've loaded 3 maps, all of them have nothing but coal blocks. All the veins above ground are coal, all the veins I've found underground are coal.
