this is pretty much the safest place I've made
it was a small island connected by a thin beach, I dug out the beach as I went over it, then I dug a tunnel back to the mainland which you can see the end of there
playing on hard on a large, deep island hell, too, it works pretty well for defense
shit is pretty fun

God, try playing a Hell map with max fog. So creepy; it's just pitch black in front of you.
I thought it was the map at first, wasn't used to render distance being black instead of white now.

Would be nice to have a little handheld torch to carry around in caves. Maybe it gets used up the longer you have it out, and you can't hold anything else while carrying it, to balance it?

oh multiplayer survival is gonna be some fun shit but I'm gonna guess it'll be a mess in any public game and probably going to good with a few people you know in a private game
I also imagine there's going to be something else to the survival element of the game by then, I don't know if a downright hunger meter would fit but I'm sure he'll think of something
and more nice stuff to dig for, there's only, what, coal, silver, gold, and emerald right now?

Scratch that. I just investigated Dock's site for the first time, and his style would horribly unfitting for Minecraft.
When I said his previous work was stellar, I was referring to LostWinds which was amazing. That style would have worked fairly well for Minecraft, methinks...

[release]I put up a poll on what to do next, and posted it on irc and on twitter. Farming got 39% of the votes, so that’s what I’m doing now!
The Hoe’s been implemented, and crops grow faster if planted in certain patterns, and even fasterer if the ground is watered. You can’t harvest the crops yet, or get any seeds, but that’s coming.
It seem like polls might be a good idea. I might use them more.
