Spent the day collecting wood and cactus, fell down, almost killed by creepers.
Look around, see zombie but it can't hurt me, look around, see 4 creepers converging.
Not trying this again.

I'm most definitely trying this. Expect a video soon.
I'll try it, nothing like the smell of gravel while being destroyed by zombies.
First try: I went in, got arrowed like 80 times, then blown up by a creeper. To add to the humiliation, it propelled my dead body into lava. Expect a video soon, I'll do my next 404 video after.
I jumped down once or twice to see how deep it goes at first. Surprisingly I didn't die until I fell into a lava pool. I may attempt the challenge tomorrow when I have time.
If you were to grow a tree underground, using lava as a light source, could you use it's wood for torches?

This is actually pretty cool, living underground by the light of redstone torches and never returning to the surface. It's pretty rough getting started but my biggest fear now is having things drop on my head.
What do you eat.
Attempts 2, 3 and 4.
Go down waterfall, skeleton at end of water I have to slog through shoots me to death, he is in the same place each time.

I'd recommend grabbing some seeds before you take the plunge.
Might record a video of me playing, I get food by fish, ONLY FISH.
First attempt went well...until my own resources turned against me. After navigating the cave I found a large pool of lava. I hollowed out the area behind it and spread it in front of me, basically creating a moat, which destroyed many creeps trying to throw themselves at me. I managed to dig out the areas around it so the lava flowed all the way around my little area, giving me light.
When I ventured out, I grabbed a few things, like iron ore and some mushrooms. When I went back, I accidentally fell into the moat. Game over.

Welp, I died instantly.
Fist try went quite good, got some iron, made some tools started exploring the cave and fell into a lava hole.

Same, I was just about to post pretty much the same thing, ninja.

Killed by 4 zombies :(
I finally create a steel sword. That will show them. I just out my flimsy home base and decapitate 3 zombies. I use my sword to seperate the skeletons arm from the torso. I finally find some diamond at the bottom. Anxious, and on the brink of passing out I craft a shiny sword. Smiling, I go back to "the pit"( I called it that because of the enormous amount of mobs). "Show me what you got!" I yell as I pull out my new and improved diamond sabre. Slashing and hacking I make it through the whole crater of enemies. "Today belongs to me!" I scream at the top of my lungs. Admiring the massacre I caused, I start to climb out. Breaking one block of stone, A creeper shows her face. "Clever girl..." I whisper. She blew up with tremendous force as I finally die.
This seems interesting, I'll do it tomorrow and upload a video for you guys.
No matter how many times I tried, I didn't spawn with any gravel pit.

I re-did my entry, no materials used, survived just under 9 minutes, editing and uploading now!
After 4 or 5 tries of dying every time, I made it cave in straight away and built around it, it's a good base
Lasted about a half hour on hard without any food whatsoever. Wanted to make an animal farm but didn't have enough time to route grass-dirt down to the bottom.
