This is a lot better looking and sounding than I EVER expected it to be. I am actually pretty impressed.
Tell me why a game has to be fun. Why can't a game simply be an experience, providing any range of moods and feelings, from sadness to anxiety? Look at Heavy Rain, Silent Hill, and Ico. Take a gander at Penumbra, which I can assure you is probably the opposite of fun. How about World of Warcraft? And let's not forget the thousands of text and point ant click adventures from days gone by.
Yeah, I dunno what backwards world you live in. I have fun in all games I play (Silent Hill, used to WoW, Penumbra, etc) so yeah... A GAME needs to be fun. I found Indigo Prophecy fun, and I'm sure I'll find Heavy Rain fun. Your logic is stupid.

Text adventures are boring as hell and that's why I don't play them. Point and Click adventures I used to like because, guess what, I found them fun. I also found Penumbra fun. It makes you think outside the box for the puzzles, and the scariness is exhilarating, which is fun. WoW is also boring as hell which is why I don't play it.
if you watched the videos they say that they know it's a loose reinvisioning of the poem, but they have to make some choices to steer away from the Divine Comedy, otherwise it wouldn't be as fun to play. It's meant to be played and enjoyed, not seen as a substitute for the poem itself. It's their homage to Dante.
More like they probably heard the name "Dante's Inferno" on TV or something, thought it sounded badass, then looked up the cliff notes. Then they said "Well this isn't nearly as badass as I thought it'd be, we're gonna have to make some changes."
It takes place in Dante's Inferno. It isn't Dante's Inferno
I played the xbox 360 demo, it was pretty good. The cutscenes were insane.
What you people are describing isn't fun, it's just satisfaction, or interactivity.
WHAT THE SHIT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! Being satisfied is fun and interactive satisfaction is fun! You're sounding so stupid! It's crazy!
ITT: We examine fun on a scientific level.
I dont get this. If you liked DMC or GoW then why wouldn't you like this? [editline]04:24AM[/editline]
ITT: We examine fun on a scientific level.
More like ITT: Faggot is faggoting up the place with his contradictive logic
Well it looks like most of us have agreed that this game rocks. I for one haven't been able to try the demo. And as Take_Opal said, If you liked any other H&S game you will probably like this one.
Just tried out the demo. Having read the actual poem, I must say the game is entirely inaccurate to the poem, but is still very fun to play. I'll be getting it for sure.
Loved the demo, but it's pretty gruesome, I didn't realise he was sewing the cross in to him till it zoomed in :O One of the best bits was [sp]controlling the demon at the end[/sp] although I'm not a fan of quick time events >:(
I hated controlling the demon, this isn't the fastest action game I've played; Maybe even the slowest. But when you rode that monster things just grind to a halt. Same with that three pillar of fire part.
So i started reading The divine comedy. And i'm suprised how short some of the Circles are in the book. Lust is like 5 pages.
Yeah, lust is in and out :smug:
So i started reading The divine comedy. And i'm suprised how short some of the Circles are in the book. Lust is like 5 pages.
Yeah, it's really just a one and a half page description, and then three and a half pages of him talking to Francesca and Paolo.
Fraud Dev diary is out. Fraud is basically going to be an army to fight. Also Lucifer will be in his same form as he was in The Divine Comedy. Frozen in ice with his own tears :D video
This game looks great, I've played the demo about 50 times already. Seems like an awesome mix of God of War and Devil May Cry.

Frozen in ice with his own tears :D
Fraud looks disappointing, albiet I guess they had to go out on a limb for that one, as in the poem it didn't really have anything noteworthy about it. The final ring looks awesome though, and they confirmed that Satan would keep his three heads. It looks like it'll be faithful to the poem except for the fact that Satan appears has absolute power over hell, rather than being helpless.
Demo. Was. Awesome.
Just played the demo. I'm incredibly disappointed.
I played the demo, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. This would be a good rental.
Hell yes, trade 2 games get the game for one swedish crown (basically, 0,1$ or something)
Game is out in Europe.
I saw the animated movie yesterday, makes me wish I pre-ordered the game. :(
I played the game first time at a friends house yeserday, we played on Hellish and it was incredibly hard, INCREDIBLY HARD!!!, but the game was more then awesome, the combat is so freaking smoothe! also the leveldesign is the best i have ever seen, it just feels to freaking real!!
Super Bowl trailer or something. I think it got banned because of the "Go to hell" part. Anf this is the first time you can see Lucifer in a trailer.
Bump: In the last Dev Diary, They gave hints out for ha sequel. This time in Purgatory.
Well, I dunno what they could do with Purgatory, although if it stays true enough to the text, it'd be about Dante truly redeeming himself of his sins, after climbing out of Hell and onto the shores of Mount Purgatory, climbing up the mountain towards Paradise.
