Keep having alien games where it gets to that point in the game where I'm just thinking I've died 20 times in a row as Skulk, it's time to turn into an Onos and get my revenge.
Oh look another Onos!
And another Onos!
And then just stampeding through marine bases as a wild Onos herd. I find it's always the end of the game at that point. We either win there or get killed horribly by millions of exo suits.
I'd love to actually be good at this game. As it stands, if I play Marine I can't hit skulks for shit and die incredibly fast to them. Then I play as a Skulk and end up either not being able to bite a marine enough, or simply biting a marine once and then getting lost and confused from running past him. And then the marines get armour upgrades and shotguns and it becomes really annoying to play Skulk.
I wish they would put something in for the aliens to compensate for the fact that marines gets more armor. For their weapon upgrades we have carapace, but so far we have nothing to compensate for their armor increase. It's very hard to kill a marine with 4 bites, close to impossible if he got backup.
In NS1 we had Focus, which killed armor 1 marines in 2 bites, armor 3 marines in 3 bites. Something similar would be great imo.
Just bought it, Now to wait...

This is p much my interaction with/as skulks since NS1. I rail them with shots and get eaten, then when I'm an alien I chomp on them several times (or try to) and get shot to death before I can react. I always assumed I was just bad though and played Gorge.

It's worse when fighting marines with shotguns or who are really good at aiming, they can just kill you in a second or in one shot. I had a game today where I snuck up on a marine climbing into a vent, bit him 3 times and then before I could bite him a 4th he just turned around and sprayed me down from full health.
It's a dreadful experience trying to connect with the populated servers, especially with the way the server browser works.
It is apparently going to be much better in the next build. It is something Andi has been working on recently, and they even have a new column which shows the "rate" of the server. I'm not sure if rate is supposed to indicate which servers have better refresh rates, or the community rating of each server, but I am going to assume it is the former.
Is there anyway I can play the beta when I have pre-purchased on Steam?

the rate is the tick rate, so you can know which server runs like shit and which does not
Why can't it be fucking Halloween sooner.
Anyone need a copy? I'm willing to trade one for other steam games or some tf2 stuff.
I wish they would just give us the bloody beta already. The game would gain a lot more momentum and maybe it would still be in a decent ranking on the Steam Top Sellers charts.
Too much momentum to be honest. I'm all for this game getting more popular, but it still has things that need to be done. Things that could affect the popularity of the game with everyone being able to see.
I love this game but the loading times are horrible
9 out of 10 times when I open this game to have a quick round I quit during the loading screen because it takes too damn long
Fullscreen-Windowed mode
> look shit up while it loads. The first load is slow, but then every time after that is pretty damn fast.
What was wrong with combat? It was really fun back in NS1
It was occasionally fun, except it devoured and destroyed the NS gamemode. It was meant to ease people into playing NS, but instead it attracted tons of people who didn't even bother to play NS_ . It basically destroyed the whole reason the game was created in the first place.
An FPS/RTS hybrid where little to nobody wanted to play the RTS portion.
I was messing around with the cyst code and managed to get it to cast lights! A lot of the code was from an existing mod, but I did change around some of the variables to make it look more appealing. Note: I don't really know anything about coding.
PS: The power is off. The cysts also cast gnarly shadows.

All I have to do now is try and figure out how to do a clientside steam workshop version of it so I can use it on other servers.

Wouldn't having the alien area be dark help them seeing as they can use that weird night-vision thing.

The point of the darkness is to give aliens an advantage with there thermal vision.
Jeep Barnett (Valve guy that worked on Portal) was playing this just now!

This is just an alternative to when that ugly red 'emergency' lighting.
You have to remember that I placed cysts all over the room to light the whole thing up. It is much darker when the power is out and there aren't any cysts. But that being said, having all the rooms in perpetual black make it too easy for the aliens. There has to be some kind of lighting in replacement. I just believe this to be a more appropriate alternative to the current one.
Black rooms are fine and dandy, but they give the aliens waaaay too much of an advantage when that happens. I can't imagine half of the map being completely blanketed in pitch black either.

Lower brightness by like... 75%, make it dimmer and not that "human friendly".
Right now, It's as useless as red lights for aliens.
Humans can see as good in this as in red lights, which aren't that hard to see through anyway.
so i still have my extra copy if anyone wanted to trade for it
what are you looking for for it
I would be willing to trade any TF2 items for it if anyone is up for that, Too poor to actually buy the game.
Anyone got a spare copy?
Willing to trade 1 or many of the games in here

Good thing marines have flashlights then. Which also has the added benefit of marines having to work together as a cohesive unit when moving through darkened areas. Cysts giving off light is novel, but it's too much of a boon for the marines.

Nuclear dawn and renagade ops?
what are you looking for for it
well i figured people would rather offer games they had in their inventory rather than go out and buy something
i still don't have CS:GO so i guess i'd trade for that (NS2 is 25, GO is 15, save 10)
The release date was just officially announced, it is going to be October 31st.
10 years after NS1. Perfect.
