I've been hearing that for those having a problem connecting to servers, they should launch a quick game locally so all the files can precache. Then you should be able to join any server properly.

I like the marines but am just no good at the aliens and have no fun as a result. Reminds me of L4D versus mode where the monsters are cool but they're tough to play as.
Anyone else feel like NS2 is terribly unoptimized? I can barely run it on medium at 34 FPS.

You shouldn't really complain about 34 fps, that is pretty good. Don't expect to run at 100 fps constant
I missed out on the first game and but I've followed development for this one and it seems to be of great quality. I just don't know if I'm going to enjoy the game play if I invest the money; I'm on the fence with this one. But $25~ isn't that bad compared to investing a solid $60ish for a "blockbuster" game these days.

at first I freaked out and started running away but then I suicide bombed into them and that seemed to work because a gorge finished them off with his bile bomb

haven't played for a few months since back in beta and marines are WAY too fucking powerful in release for some reason. shotguns got patched to be far too effective (when they were already powerful as fuck) and marines all round got a buff. what the fuck were they thinking?

I'm complaining when my game looks like an unplayable piece of shit, literally everything but Anti-Aliasing are off, and textures are set to medium with low infestation, and I get minor spikes of lag when I turn around.
What are your specs?
Also, can this thread get some sort of 4-pack deal thing going on, so people can chip in for it?

So did facepunch get a server yet or would it be too risky considering they aren't the best right now at handling people from different countries.

It still does a little way to go but I wouldn't say it's that unoptimized.
I may be biased though because I used to play it heaps before they optimized it and now it feels smooth as shit.
All the Australian servers are either full or passworded :\
so I played a bit of the game, liked the shooty action, and then (because no one else wanted to) I got to strap into the command chair and was helped along by a nice dudebro who explained how shit worked and we won.
Next round he left and I got comms again and I managed to lead my team to victory, feels good.
I also seem to have found my first preferred strategy: Mech Suits and Flamethrowers.

I got this problem just now, but I can't join any game through quick launch. Can't I just delete the cache files instead?
