By the way, it doesn't show which players are rookies on the other team. They all show white unless everyone is in the ready room.

Just played as marines. Dual Chaingun Exosuit = Win. Nothing could even stand more than two seconds, except for an Onos.

I also can never figure out what player is asking for what.
Also I keep losing alien buildings in the infestation because I can't tell them apart from the infestation.
I've tried restarting NS several times, but the server list still doesn't show up.

Yeah I'm not getting the best performance but my native res is 1920x1080 but for NS2 My settings are on highest with ambient occlusion off and a res of 1280x960 and My FPS only gets REALLY REALLY low when there are like 4 onos and what not attacking a marine base that happened to me earlier and the lowest it go to was 21 FPS
40 kills in 5 minutes sounds pretty fishy (and probably impossible considering how little ammo you have), but you have to remember that some people have played this game for over 1000 hours already so it's pretty easy to completely destroy new players.
I've got a friend who wants to play the game but he has no money, instead he's got a shit ton of gold on World of Warcraft. Anyone interested in like 15k-20k G for NS2?

Your friend is shit outta luck: the likelihood of him having all that gold on a server that someone is on is pretty slim. So if someone were to accept this, they'd have to transfer servers or something.
You can buy 15,000 gold (+1,500 bonus) from most sites for $24 and they provide it on the server you're on.
I doubt using WoW gold is going to help him get NS2.

I have no idea how to play as Aliens, but I can make my shot as a marine, though I'm still bad, just not as bad. There needs to be a mock interactive tutorial, explore mode is cool and all, but I can't practice at all without getting my ass handed to me every match, though I haven't played much yet. Tomorrow I'll have all evening to play.
I played against a alien player named SURPRISE BUTT SEKS! Guess what he was good at...
And today I played a 32 player server, fucking game lasted for hours! Everyone was so fucking rich and the hallway encounters is just fucking chaotic. I'd never seen a Onos so scared for its life when he came around a corner seeing 5 exo's clipping into each other with 7 repair droids following them, even had like 4 marines with repair torches supporting us. They tried to hold us back by shooting orange fart in our screens and caking us in acid with their birds. There was so much particles that my system started to lag, you turn a corner and you were immediately blasted in the face with orange and acid crap. Their attacks did absolutely jackshit since our repair rate was too high. We even had a exo suit depot going. In the end I had a score of 1144, 84 kills and 10 deaths.

Are there different layers of cloak for the aliens? Me and like 3 other twin gat exo's raided this hive and we destroyed a cloak tower that then revealed that there were cysts all over the place and we wiped them cleaning the room. After seeing the room cleaned, one of our bullets hits ANOTHER cloak tower and we destroy that just to reveal ANOTHER layer of cyst all over the place even though we just cleaned it. This happens one more time before the room is finally cleansed.
why the fuck are half of the servers laggy as fuck and constantly freezing? i know it's not my connection either because everyone in the servers is getting it too. how the fuck is it possible that the game was actually BETTER in beta than it is now
so i just pre-purchased the game and played it yesturday and today but I starting to not like it very much because this game has a few things I really loathe that this game has. One of them is stupidity and it infuriate the hell out of me, I was commander trying to get the hang of commanding in this game but i'm more used to single-player RTS then i am on multi-player games, and I've issued order to people. These idiots just will not follow my orders what so ever and we lost easily when they kill the hive and hardly anybody fought back. This pissed me off so much that I've just uninstalled the piece of shit game that is filled with dumbfucks that has no common sense or has no brain at all.
I hate people in general now cause I just see every stranger as a dumbfuck doing stupid shit that get's my blood boiling. This game really don't even give you a decent tutorial to teach you have to be a pro at this game.

I wasn't being a dick? I was just voicing my opinion, because it's a pretty slim fuckin' chance your friend is going to find someone willing to dish out $24 on NS2 when they can use that $24 to get gold more safely and more quickly to their preferred server. But whatever man.

What are arcs and how I do I use them as commander? I tried making them go into fire mode but they don't do anything once an alien is in sight?

Move the ARCs within firing range of a hive and deploy them. Once they are deployed use a scan so they ARCs gets LOS of the units in the area and they will begin to charge up and fire.

ARCs only target alien structures, but their splash damage can injure aliens.
They can shoot through walls (within a certain range) but they can't target through walls, so you need to scan whatever it is that needs blasting.
Ah damn, just lost a 90 minute game as commander. For some reason (I assume because I had rookie mode on) it auto upgraded jetpacks before exo suit.
I didn't look at what was upgrading because we got attacked seconds, then lost the second command post 2ish min after I realized we got jetpacks
