You think they'd maybe design it to do that before you're actually trying to play the game.
Eh. It rarely hurts my gameplay, though sometimes I have bad luck and the aliens get me while I'm stuttering, but it's rare. Would be nice for it to not happen but it's fine, I can live with it.
It takes about 1-2 min from steam to almost or in a server that's pretty fast
It is interesting being a guy from a beta, playing this game with the majority of people being new guys. Sure, it can be fairly frustrating when you are the only one on the team with a positive score, doing everything in your power to get you guys to win, but just cannot, but then there is the other side of the coin. Because I was in the beta, and I have a different color armor from everyone else, it is almost as though I have an authority over my fellow marines. I walk around talking on voice telling people to watch out, and they follow me around and stick with me. I say "lets move up" and we move up. An Onos comes bounding around the corner, I yell out "RUN FOR IT HOLY SHIT" and everyone fucking legs it. They look to me, and I provide them with direction. I know the field, I know the enemy, I know how to survive. I am a veteran. The skulks also like to rush my companions instead of me, which makes it fairly easy for me to protect my buddies. When that happens, our squad lasts, I weld my buddies, the commander drops us supplies, and we go on our way. Me and my brothers in arms. Victory (or horrible death), just around the corner.
I fucking love going 30 0 as a fade. Suprising how many terrible skulks are out there, its actually basic, non stop jump, don't walk on the floor, flank, sneak, and hide.
It takes about 1-2 min from steam to almost or in a server that's pretty fast
Agreed. It could be faster but it really doesn't bother me because I'm going to be spending 30+ minutes on that one map anyway. If it was like COD or something though I'd be a little more inclined to dislike the load times.
Just tried running in 3x1 portrait - holy shit it's intense
I have it installed on an SSD and it loads slower than any other game on the SSD besides Red Orchestra 2. They really need to fix that. I can't imagine how slow it is on normal hard drives.
7200 RPM, 1 minute first load, 10-20 seconds subsequent loads
Even after the update, my server list still wont show any servers.
I keep getting my ass handed to me, is there any AI in progress to practice with?
Well, fuck. Somehow NS2's latest update manages to temporarily DISABLE MY INTERNET for 2-3 minutes when I refresh the server browser. And not just my computer, but the whole house?? And before you say it's a coincidence - I have already tested this 15 times. And my internet is perfectly fine as long as I do not press that refresh button. But seriously, how the fuck?
God I hope they continue to optimize it even more I have an ATI 6770 1GB, Intel I3 3.3 GHZ Dual core 8gb of ram and to get pretty good/decent frames I have to run it in 1280x960 with everything set to high but ambient occulsion off And with my card I can max Deus Ex human revolution and Crysis easily and get great frames either than that this game is amazing and I love it and if I can I want to get onto some NS2 team with people that would be awesome :)

Once you've plaid a map once it should load up much faster next time. EDIT Rate me dumb all you want, but that is an actual feature implemented into the game.

Get a non-shit router.

What? I pre-ordered ages ago on steam, and It hasn't upgraded me to the deluxe edition?
What? I pre-ordered ages ago on steam, and It hasn't upgraded me to the deluxe edition?
Pre-steam preorders only
What? I pre-ordered ages ago on steam, and It hasn't upgraded me to the deluxe edition?
Did you preorder the deluxe edition?
From now until release day in October, Deluxe Edition will be the only version available on Steam, and will be discounted to $24.99. There is also a 4-pack available for $74.97.
It was the only version you could pre-order.
I am extremly jelly of anyone who has the Black Marine armor. The deluxe armor just isnt the same
I think the black armor looks hideous.
WAIT, nevermind. It turns out that the deluxe stuff is all in the Natural Selection 2 folder. I thought you would have to be in-game to access it. Apologies.
You have a shit router that can't handle that many pings so quickly. Get a non-shit router.
Well I fixed it, so it's all good. Besides, NS2 was set to only show populated servers that aren't full with pings below 50. Before the patch despite not having sever filters except for non-modded this was never an issue with this, or any game
So is it just me, or is it that every Australian server hasn't been updated yet?
i really like the art book that comes with the deluxe edition
I loved seeing the biodome concepts Also, last stand in tram, 3 of us under the stairs in server room

Just the breaks in the video ruin the experience for me, and I'd find them irritating.

The missing bits between screens would annoy the fuck out of me.
Yeah, I don't even understand why you'd want to triplehead like that. For one, you lose the actual advantage of using a triplehead setup in the first place - a 180' field of view.

I thought the same thing too before I played on triple screens and I hardly even notice them when I play believe it or not. I plan on debezeling the monitors too so it'll be about a half inch - quarter inch.
I would actually rather play NS2 with support for the Oculus Rift. That would be pretty cool to use.
They are going to support Oculus Rift, too! They pitched in with the kickstarter, and are expecting their dev kit + prototype whenever those things are ready to go.

Isn't it really annoying and disorientating? ((I've never used more than 1 monitor and no bigger than 19" now)) [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline] did people who got the game way earlier ie before the start of the beta get deluxe/black armor
