I think they should add an option so your view goes with your orientation as aliens, I think I'd play a lot better cause I'm used to it from AVP
the fucking netcode of this game jesus christ i keep disconnecting for no reason after like 10-20 minutes
I think they should add an option so your view goes with your orientation as aliens, I think I'd play a lot better cause I'm used to it from AVP
Man I won't lie I never got used to that shit, made me dizzy as fuck. But yeah it wouldn't imbalance gameplay or anything so if they had that option at least it'd be fine.
I wonder what UWE bases their balance patches on. Is it suggestions from the player base, or take note from competetive players and/or their matches?
Attacking the hive as an alien makes an electrical sound :/
I keep getting CTD's. I played fine for a while yesterday but I ctd near the end of some matches, quiet annoying
Man I won't lie I never got used to that shit, made me dizzy as fuck. I was commanding the aliens today, and had a match that lasted 90 minutes. The marines kept taking down a hive, before my team managed to push them out of a command centre and get another hive. Both marines and aliens did a tour of the entire map, using each hive zone at least once, haha. The high point for me was when we'd almost lost, my entire team was killed, so I hop out of command and take out a welder+exo suit, before taking 2 hives back. Eventually we did lose, but it was such a great match for once.
I get fine FPS in Explore mode, but the second I play online I'm freezing every few seconds at the start of the game, or whenever I spawn.
Been monitoring this thread. I preordered NS2 but I can't goddamn play it for an unknown amount of time. Hurricane Sandy is a bitch and ripped my neighbors tree from the ground which destroyed the power lines. But only our street was affected so it's gonna be forever before the town pays any attention to it considering all the wires need to be replaced [editline]4th November 2012[/editline] I'm so.pumped to play :/

I seem to keep timing out now, which is odd, my internet was going on and off yesterday and that made sense, but now I'm timing out and nothing's wrong with the connection anymore.
I don't know of any internet cafes anywhere in the area hah : s
Frig sake. Just had my first game of Alien Comm and I can see why people think Aliens need a buff. If players aren't communicating, then as commander you have little power to inform them. They don't understand how vital it is to have a cyst connection all the way to a new base. They should add in more ways of informing players as an alien comm, but its more a player problem that should go away or lessen over time.
they're not unstoppable on their own, but they can very easily and quickly close off a complete corridor or even a big room if they have 1 dude with a welder
A good skulk can take out an exo if he knows how to play, and with teamwork the welders can easily go down - especially if you have an upgrade like silence or something - and the Gorge's bile bomb will basically destroy exos if you distract the welders for a little and use 2 Gorges.
Now to think of the next small mod I can actually feasibly make...
Q&A livestream now http://de.twitch.tv/naturalselection2
That guy is charismatic.
Been playing this a lot recently. My favorite feature of the game is having shitty alien players that complain about marines being op, then go to marines next match and lose.
lol Hugh is so excited for getting kills. He's like "That's something we really want to look int-OOHFRGGGHHOHOOH I GOT A FADE!!!!"

If they have a welder, exercise your hit and run tactics on him.
I would like the infestation to cover the ceiling more :/ Also for windows to be more visible in alien vision mode, I have shot windows too many times.
That was a good stream
Yesterday I took down 2 exos at once several times in one game (We were getting stomped since our first commander didn't build anything and by the time he'd left, they had exos...) as Skulk, it really isn't difficult to be honest, just sneak around a bit and then bite their ankles and hop about like a madman. This game is absolutely fantastic. Best team based game I've played in a long time.
I don't care what anyone says, it's never "easy" to take out exos on your own. If the exo is fairly inexperienced you have a good chance of taking him out, but if they know what you're doing, even if you're doing the best you can there's still a good chance you're going to die.
Who said it was easy? (The only easy part I mentioned was taking out the welders) The point is everyone says they're overpowered, but they can go down really quickly. It's not easy to take down an Exo, but it's not easy to kill a skilled fade or lerk either, or an onos with a good gorge.
This game is absolutely fantastic. I barely ever use my microphone outside of talking with friends, and I have always used my mic with NS with random people.
Played as Commander for the first time today(as an alien). Game was a 3v3 so I figured, "shit why not? Is anyone even going to notice me practice?" Of course 30 seconds later the server is full and I have no fucking idea what I'm doing. Luckily I had some guys with mics help me out a ton, and we rocked that shit.

You don't need infestation to build a hive and the hive spreads infestation too. It's better than no connection, but it's not like your base will die if the connection is lost, or do I not know something?
The worst thing you can do as a newbie commander is not ask for help really.
Yeah I had one player even comment afterwards that I was better than the average commander because I actually listened to what they were saying. My ego was properly massaged that game!
