I love supporting my team with xenocide
everybody is onos attacking the marines and I run in the middle and explode
I love how there was that one random guy who joined the stream and is like "THIS GAME SUCKS LOLTRASH IT DOESN'T REQUIRE HALF THE SKILL OF LoL"
Why do people despise sentry turrets early game? When I play marine comm I always try to get sentry turrets up first and place them in strategic locations covering bottle necked hallways or placed in the corner of a wide open room. People always start bitching and moaning when I try to get a robotics factory up, regardless of how many resource nozzles we control. Turrets are really effective to place at "fall back" points or streamlined areas where vent entrances are located for the alien team.
They're cheap, quick to build and great for taking out whittled down opponents and securing otherwise defenseless resource points and power nodes.

Because they are a waste of res. A single skulk that has any clue what he's doing can take them all out alone in a single life. The res you spent on those turrets could have been used for weapon and armor upgrades or getting phase gates up faster.
How much res do you spend on turrets? 40? That could be 4 RTs. Some good unlocks. If your team is half experienced you won't need them.
turrets delay the inevitable. If you're defending you're losing.
Turrets are only helpful if you plan of tickling the enemy to death.
I wished sentries could be more useful.
how to fix sentries
360 degree view
increase dmg
increase armor
decrease health
decrease res cost
Turrets kill me all the time.
maybe you shouldn't stand infront of them for more then a minute
lol I got a key but I own the game already so I couldn't activate it
I have a 5770 and it runs just fine on near max settings... (30fps)
To be honest, to me these days 30fps is nearly unplayable in a game like this.
30fps is something I could only dream for. I make my day perfectly with 20 though.
i can't bother playing fps games at anything below 60. quake and cs spoiled me.

Same here, in fact it's the main thing that keeps me from playing Planetside 2 and playing this instead.

I can only play it on a decent laptop right now, and any time my fps drops below 40 I am close to giving up
Just played my second game and won, the comm wasn't all that terrible besides having a shit ton of res just sitting there at some points. I seem to have the worst of luck though, people that have played for 50+ hours keep on being in the rookie servers I join and they really stomp a lot of peoples shit. Managed to win thoughh with me repairing an Exo as we pushed. I felt bad at one point though, as I heard there was an Onos at base and I was really near to it, so I turned tail back to base. Right outside the base was an Exo suit that I got into in order to fight the Onos, and he fled when he saw me coming (not without me getting a hail of bullets into him though). I wanted to get out of the Exo so someone more capable with it could use it if they wanted to, but pressing the same button as getting in didn't work. I ended up attempting to help clear an area we captured being attacked by some aliens, and that was successful. When we get all the shit in there back up and running though, the comm beaconed everyone back to base, and I was left alone to be attacked by a ton of dudes that were coming in. Still felt that the Exo could've done more work with someone with more experience.
I turned my resolution down to 1280x720 and the graphics menu gave me an FPS of 50-60, but my FPS still manages to dip very low in fights. I hope they optimize it more soon, as my computer isn't really all that terrible besides my low RAM, and my graphics card can handle recent games from medium-high settings with ~40-50 FPS. I even wiped my computer recently which has helped a LOT in any games that I was having problems getting a good framerate in. FPS problems aside though, the game is very fun and I don't regret the purchase. Looking forward to playing even more games and (hopefully) getting better at the game.

I would, but unfortunately because it didn't let me take it somebody else got it :/
I was in a server today where the marines had won 5 matches in a row and had ridiculous teamwork, so I pointed out that the teams seemed stacked. The then shouted "WE'RE NOT A CLAN" and such things, yet all behaved exactly the same. Being completely obvious that it was a lie, I simply looked at one of the marines friends list, and what do you know, 3 of them were friends, 2 on the marines, and one on the aliens. The one that was on the aliens was the commander. After I pointed this out, I got called an "internet tough guy"/"internet detective". They also threw the common insults of "you mad", "trolled", "butthurt" etc. They then started arguing "So what, friends can't play together?" I then just said "I didn't say that, but when the same 4 or 5 people join the same team constantly and constantly stomp the other team, it's not exactly fun anymore." The alien team had basically left after almost every round, and one marine could basically kill 3 or 4 aliens at a time before actually dying. It was basically "experienced players" vs "people that have no idea what the hell they're doing".
I later learned that the 3 people that were friends and teams tacking were also part of a (formerly) popular HL2 mod development team. Thinking about it now, I would have though people that make a mod/game would actually understand that stacking teams and killing servers isn't fun, but I guess not.
Again, i'm not against friends playing together, but when you're constantly stomping the enemy team completely, it's not fun anymore. I commonly play with 4 or 5 people I know, but 3 of them are completely new to the game and have basically no idea what they're doing, so it's not really a problem.
Is it really so wrong to say team stacking is a problem?
If anyone gets a spare key from facebook or the stream or anything, feel free to PM it to me. I would love you forever.

Not really, the games I've played on rookie servers tend to have my team be chock full of rookies, and the other team? Not a single damned rookie found. I suppose people would want to avoid playing with rookies like the plaque, but how does that help a rookie be even more experienced in the game if they're constantly having their shit ordered, stamped and delivered to them on a regular basis by the other team who has a hell of a lot more experience at the game?

You can't see the green names on the enemy team, even when you're in the ready room. It's to combat exactly what you're talking about, otherwise people would just always join the team with less green names.
whenever I try comm everyone is a fucking retard. Tram, as marines, start top right, aliens next door to the left, try and order guys to go mezzanine and down to take RTs but nope constant fighting over the harvester between both bases and get nowhere and only have base RT.
disconnect.
need more 6v6 servers where people aren't dumb and want to keep up pressure as marines instead of letting aliens have 6+ harvesters.
also wish people f4 when a game is clearly over instead of wasting time just get a new game going... marines have exos, aliens all <20 res as skulks and 2 harvesters.

Is this game just badly optimized though or are recommended specs high? Cause I can run borderlands 2 maxed out except Physx Off @ 60 fps constant
Badly/strangely optimised I guess. after messing about with settings I get more fps running max with ambient occlusion off than I do with everything low
Yea its weird, I just checked the store page and a Core 2 duo, ati 5770 is recommended.
Im on an i5, 8gb ram, 560 gtx @ 1680x1050 res, and my fps is average 44-60 when I use graphics settings with every high except AA, AO off.
Dropped everything to low yesterday and game is 60 fps constant, I can play like this np but I know my rig could handle it so much better :(

somewhat similar specs here;
i5 @ 4.5
8gb ram
570 gtx
dunno what your i5 is running at but normally 60fps 1920x1080. No doubt yours should be able to do much better
my i5 is oc'ed to 4.4 ghz and my gfx card is just normal clocks, i also get weird stuttering when playing with graphic options on, but only really when playing as lerk my gtx is only 1gb so it could be that

I actually like last stands myself, espcially as marine as man they can hold out well.
Marines can hold out easier on public servers if going against a bad alien team. If 8 onos rush against a base defense there is nothing that can help.
