Anybody know any good ways of optimizing this? My laptop can play most games on near max settings (BF3, Metro etc), but this barley runs
Everything off, Multi core rendering on / texture streaming on and Textures High thats it
depends you need armor 1 for fades / avoid parasite+2bites kills
I actually meant that w3 is the best way to deal with onos, but yea weapon upgrades won't win you a game alone.
If you are 1v1 against an Onos as shotty marine, just side jump around an armoury and you will probably win. Feels good man.

What I have had luck with is getting 2 dual exos with 2 welders as support... and getting us to wait in an outpost adjacent to our main for the aliens to attack across the map. As soon as they attacked, we charged the first hive we found and stomped every egg, killed every upgrade, and then shredded the hive. Resistance was disappointingly minimal.

I doubt that the enemy commander had any idea of what was going on.
This is how you destroy a CC. [t]http://puu.sh/1qxsL[/t]
Did they do some neat optimization cause now I can run the game at 1920 x 1080 no problem as of now. Now the game is 100% more fun because I can actually aim and bite accurately.
don't use texture streaming under graphics options, it gets rid of your "c" map.
Aliens are OP with the new regen balance. Skulks can go from no health to full like in 10 seconds.
Aliens are OP with the new regen balance. Skulks can go from no health to full like in 10 seconds.
? skulks can go from no health to full in like 5 seconds under a shift hive or in an area with ~4 crags.
? skulks can go from no health to full in like 5 seconds under a shift hive or in an area with ~4 crags.
Thats not everywhere on the map
gorges
We rushed [t]http://puu.sh/1qTgL[/t] They happened to have a second CC and after 30 minutes we lost

What I hate the most is that since hitboxes seem to be clientside, I can get hit once or twice, then fly out of there at mach 3, be around a corner and down the hall, yet still be getting hit by the people that were shooting at me.
Server owners need to run community maps, get them playtested and have something other than the 5 or 6 maps we have now.

Are you sure you're not at an angle they can still get you at?

duck is your ingame name otherduck by any chance?
no it's beardy
When Im encoutering lerks, I can never fucking hit them and they never die. When Im playing as a lerk, I'm suddenly made of wet paper (with carapace mind you) and I die instantly when trying to kill a single marine.

That usually causes them to turn around to shoot me, just to find out that I'm not there anymore, then I bite him again and repeat.

Celerity, Silence and Regeneration is beyond perfect for Lerk.
I don't think Regeneration is that great for Lerk. You're easier to kill, and it literally takes 3 seconds or less to fly to a hive and heal up, unlike with a Skulk (which makes regen for them handy, since they can't easily run back to a hive). I think Carapace instead of Regeneration is a better skill to have, since it'll give you more survivability, and if you lose a lot of health, just Mach 3 to your nearest hive and heal up in under 10 seconds total (from when you need health, to when you're at full health).
We just finished a match having nothing but oni That feels great.
Also, depending on your playstyle as Lerk, sometimes Adrenaline can be more useful than Celerity. I usually fart out a shit-tonne of Spores, so Adrenaline comes in handy for long sessions of pooting out Spores. It depends on your playstyle. If you're the type to bite and shoot needles and fly around a lot, then Celerity is for you. If you're like me, where you like to glide in amongst Marines and smoke em out, Adrenaline is better.

Right now, the regeneration kicks in after about 1 second and you get a lot of health. It's not that hard to dodge a few bullets and as soon as you do, you're already regaining health. Although, if they're running shotguns and have a lot of them, I'd be getting Carapace. I will however agree with running Adrenaline depending on your playstyle, that's very true. Celerity does just happen to be what I do best with personally. Hell, since they buffed regeneration through the roof, it's even amazing on Onos, more than amazing. I mean Christ, you start regenerating health after around 1 - 1.5 seconds instead of the old 5 seconds. Also, Carapace only adds 25 more armour, that's around 50 more damage, without weapon upgrades that's 5 shots with an assault rifle. At level 3 weapons, that's about 2 - 3 shots, even less if they use their pistol.

Maybe a fourth hive type for offense? [editline]17th November 2012[/editline] Just spitting ideas out here
Depends on what lifeform you are.
Well, I'm talking specifically Lerk here.
