I don't get why people don't use it more. It's literally a free kill if you use it correctly.
It depends on the alien team at that time and how good they are. Alien comms, particularly in pub play, go shift hive first to avoid egg lock. Crag on second hive is a must to counteract shotguns and weapon upgrades. Result of this leaves shade on the third hive.
I coordinated with a friend onos a while back so this lone marine wandered into me as a cloaked onos, turned to run and ran into my friend :v:
this makes me want to get 3 friends, then we all go invisible onos and try to entrap one marine, just to see his reaction. Then maybe if I really wanna be an asshole we'll all spam stomp and keep him from moving.

That's some BDSM shit right there.

I preordered this a long time ago. Been installed since. But I still haven't launched it because I'm scared.

ns2 is updating, prepare for build 230.
Scared? Why?
Of suck. Ing. At this game.
just bought this what should i know
gorges are cute [editline]20th November 2012[/editline]
Changes planned for 230 (updated 11/19 10:40am PST) - Reverted back to old Hive healing values (228) - Doubled ARC rate of fire, halved damage (fixed now in this mod) - Fixed ARC targeting issues - Welder research time increased from 10 to 15 - Exo armor changed from to 300/390/480/570 to 400/460/520/580 - Welder rate reduced from 125/sec to 90/sec - Reduced shadow step cost from 15 to 10 - Increased blink momentum to be close to build 220 - Increase start blink energy cost from 8 to 12 - Shift Hatch now creates 2 eggs, but costs 5 resources and has a 5 second cool down (was 1 tres per egg, no cooldown). - Increased trait structure (Shell, Spur, Veil) mature health by ~20%. Also increased their base health to be closer to their previous mature health. - Reduced Spore research time from 90 to 60. - Hive build time increased from 150 seconds to 180 seconds. - Reduced Onos gore range by .5 meters - Reduced Onos armor by 100 (-8, effectiveness vs. Exos and heavy weapons impacted less because armor). - No changes to Skulk bite - No changes to Lerk health/armor
I don't see how the shift change is going to help >20 player servers. And regen is still amazing. Good to see the fade getting a buff
Of suck. Ing. At this game.
play on rookie servers, they're highlighted green. The community is pretty nice, there's nothing to worry about.
I really want this game.
Of suck. Ing. At this game.
It's a game not a job interview
Of suck. Ing. At this game.
I suck a shit ton at video games and I still manage to get in a good game here and there where I don't suck total ass, and get a somewhat good K:D ratio or even just 1:1, or even just a shit ton of points (which really matters more so than K:D.) If I can manage it, so can you. If you still have your doubts, as has been said before in this thread, invisibility on Kharaa (especially a Fade, but also can work on a Skulk and maybe even a Lerk) basically provides a single free kill in each life if you wait for the right opportunity, as well as Kharaa being basically easier to play (imo) than Marines. You can also just simply hang back as a Gorge and help your commander out with building shit and setting up defenses. You're a Gorge so I don't think people would blame you for not being on the front lines.
regen still op. instead of 1.5 seconds it's now like 2.5 seconds.

Oh thank God, they've fixed the 6 minute Onos eggs.
Shift Hive change is just a pain in the arse, in my opinion. Now I'm going to have to keep actively going back to them to lay eggs, which is a chore and I might forget (which will lead to us having low egg count). Before, I'd just hatch about 15 eggs in each Hive, then 10 mins later, I'd do it again.
I'm okay with the onos changes. Glad they reduced the range of his gore. That thing was just ridicilous
here's a preview for my new map.,.. 6 marines were walking around the map admiring the great dev textures [t]http://i.imgur.com/p3LI6.png[/t] but something stopped them in their tracks... Last time I tried marine comm. So much shit is going on and you have to keep an eye on EVERYTHING. I'll stick to commanding the alien team.

learn to phasegate / observatory / hotkey. pressing spacebar sends you to the marine who requested the earliest.
Still too much to keep under control. I very much perfer the alien team to command
aliens just do their own thing and if they're better than the marines you auto win as alien comm almost.
People have trouble with micro in NS2? Jeez you literally only place a building occasionaly and spam meds and ammo.
Agreed. Marine comm is 80% supporting your marines with medpacks and ammo, and 20% other shit. [editline]20th November 2012[/editline] Meanwhile alien comm is boring because you're left with nothing to do but watch, essentially

Also, I enjoy spreading infestation!
If you're not using your hive sight to tell your team where and how many marines go, and assist your aliens with bone wall blocks and drifters, you should seriously consider letting a better khammander take your place. There's plenty to do as alien commander to assist.
