If you're not using your hive sight to tell your team where and how many marines go...
Your sight needs glasses.
Do you even know what Hive Sight is?
if you don't have a mic or can't type super fast then dont bother alien comm

This, don't bother trying any comm.
I just love staring at the Alien egg venting holes. They're so hypnotic how they rhythmically open and close.

Agreed. I have nothing against new Commanders, but I get seriously annoyed if you're new AND DON'T LISTEN OR COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR TEAM.

I had this one dude who was playing as Alien Commander. He wasn't spawning eggs for us (literal 3 minute queues to spawn, it was ridiculous) despite the whole team asking him politely to spawn eggs or make a shift hive. He kept buying whips (fucking crazy) and refused to type or talk at all.
At the end of the round, our team is pretty much fuming over a boring round that was doomed because of him. He then - for some reason - decides it's a good time to talk on mic and tell us how it's our fault "because you suck as Skulks". Then he disconnects. What an asshole.
He could have talked whilst Commanding, but decides against it. Then, at the end, he talks just to bitch about how shit we all were (which is bullshit. We were holding our ground against upgraded Marines).
Is everyone's server browser not working? Mine only brings up like two or three matches with people in them, and when I go to click on them they disappear from the browser. Weird.
Just a reminder for anyone on the fence about getting this: Steam Sale starts tomorrow and NS2 might very well be discounted
Well I played it.
And I plan on playing it again. And again. And again.
Everyone was nice and helping me learn terms. Apparently 'warpy gatey thingy portal' isn't commonly used to describe Phase Gates.
Snip. Wrong thread
I was thinking of buying this game soon or when it gets on sale.
Should I get it?

Yeah. It's pretty damn fun.
Any tips for a noob who took a liking to the gorge ?

Belly drift everywhere as long as it's not curved way.
Bilebomb shit from afar, it melts armor in no time. (If your com hasn't gotten this, tell him to uninstall)
Healing is always a priority, gas everything that has taken damage.
If you know Heavy + Medic combo in TF2, do the same with Onos.
You can get the extra energy or movespeed, depends on opinion, invisibility thing over silence, Corge doesn't make much noise anyways, and carapace > hp regen, since you can heal yourself with your heal.
Don't go alone, you are p.much dead if you are found alone. Be near friendly structures or aliens, you can keep up quite well with others by drifting around hallways. You can't go into vents though so you should stay behind your mates if shit hits the fan you can escape pretty quickly.

Found a gorge that made brilliant use of its clogs by using them as stepping stones to climb up in and around vents. Quite funny how he was able to scale the vents to nanogrid that way
What about Hydras? Either i'm using them all wrong, or they are worthless, and i bet it's the first one.
they are pretty much useless. Hiding them inside clogs, and overall hidden is something I find useful
What about Hydras? Either i'm using them all wrong, or they are worthless, and i bet it's the first one.
It's a little of both, Hydras are shitty damage and terrible for defense like most alien defenses but they are great from stopping people just bumrushing you and fucking you over while you're trying to defend a chokepoint, the trick is to place them behind cover in such a way that they shoot those that pass the cover, but can't be shot by them unless they over extend themselves, this is trickier than it sounds because they wave their tentacles around like one of those flailing arm guys you see at used car lots but if you master it they are really useful for delaying a push.
They still do close to zero damage, i usually hide them behind stuff on the roof, but that is also useless.
I'm not supposed to be a defender with the com early in the match ?

I always do that, It's even better when you have bile bombs
ninja gorges everywhere
Also people just stop and shoot them, It's weird, like sentries in TF2 they just lose their brain and stand stock still shooting it.

No no, but as a gorge you need back-up, make sure you tell people what you're defending and prey your skulks aren't all mouth breathers.
Thanks, Helpful all of you :)
Also, may just be because i usually pick rookie-friendly games. (Because i am a rookie..)
But is the voice chat really only used by a few german kids, and them only ?
Or will i acctually find someone i can understand and communicate with ?

On swedish/finnish servers you're bound to have someone speaking proper english with a mic
But i don't expect anyone but those on rookie servers would not rage at my lack of skills..
I usually play on servers called something like Swe-Games-CS(or BTIP) they are rookie friendly and usually have people who communicate.
Also I once got an exo killed by my hydra, that's what happens when you ignore it.

Did we meet the same gorge?

I always use clogs as stepping stones, they become infinitely handier when you realise you can kinda use a minecraft style system where you jump and place one directly beneath yourself over and over again for a quick escape
