Have they optimized the game anymore? I couldn't handle playing at 20fps with a game that looked like CSS.

There have been some optimizations in the latest patches and general performance for a lot of people seems to have gone up from what I have heard. Granted, there are still a few flukes here and there but it is better than what it was like.

Can't really vouch for any of those optimizations myself, seeing as I have never had any performance issues.

i joined at ~120, marines had cafeteria and terminal
we managed to take down departures, but aliens took terminal
we pushed back and took back terminal while aliens took back departures
we pushed locker rooms and took down the hive, aliens took down terminal again
finally we managed to establish locker rooms while pushing back terminal and also departures and finally generator
never seen so many onos-armory blocks in a game before, we basically pushed 50 meters and built armories and it just kept going like that
I guess the thread is dead then. It goes days without a single post.
Oh well, was fun while it lasted :c

i usually f4 by then
when I comm I don't ever drop robotics and it's usually no problem as long as your team knows how to use phase gates and listen
might get one to get MACs for the exos but that's about it
ARCS can be useful if the aliens are dug in, especially if you control the other side of the wall.
Example could be nano-forge.
..But arcs/robotics are late game stuff mostly.

I love it.
It's so common in pub games.
I can't belive some people are so slow at doing some tasks, that If I would see them playing any pure RTS game I would think they would be beaten by an AI set on AFK difficulty.
Informing commander about RT not being placed and lacking crucial upgrade, yet, commander reacts to that after 5-20 minutes.

Why can't I find any servers?
Well any is an under statement but I only get around 2-10 servers, rest being too high ping.
Also, what does the "PERFORMANCE %" mean in the server browser?

This game is so much damn fun. A friend got a 4pack, but it had an extra (i.e. 3 people chipping in) so he sent the 4th to me. I've been playing it a lot since I got it. A lot like NS1, but with new, fun stuff. Took me a while to figure out some things, then I was surprised by how quick my green (rookie) status went away. And by now, I've figured out most basic and advanced strategies, I think. Looking forward to comming my first game.
Aliens are just so fucking good, I almost always prefer to play them. Like today, joined a server as aliens and Marines won the second I got in, then I kept playing Aliens and won the next three matches.
And my strategy is to farm the Skulk until 50-100 Resources, it's so fucking powerful with some armor and speed. And camouflage is often good for ambushing.
And then I just go all out with Lerk and Fade.
I miss the old turrets.

I hope they don't nerf the cammo, I love ambushing single marines
Do skulks have xenocide in this? I used to love coordinated bombing runs on Marine bases back in the day.
Yeah tho I find it pretty useless if the rines have armor
Thats because Xenocide is "light damage" type, armor absorbs 4 points of the damage.
Is it possible to unbind some of the commander keys? Tried comming the other day. Went well, except I kept hitting V to cancel. Which is also my press-to-talk button. And I was cancelling upgrades.
