A flamethrower exo would be awesome! I get the feeling it would be really overpowered though. Flamethrower soldiers on foot already kick a lot of ass
Is there any fix for the "precaching" thing?... it does it everytime.. i'd love to play online as I always use to play online in the mod and loved it..
Dammit, I extracted the Exo spawn sound and wanted to replace the default Windows 7 startup with it. Well, it turns out you can't. Not without hacking a dll. And I don't want to do that.

Even if you do manage to overwrite it, it will probably not go trough the consistency check almost all the servers have, unless that only applies to the Lua code and steamworkshop mods.
Now that I think of it, it seems silly to have check on non Lua code, it's like sv_pure servers in the source engine all over again.
Or even having it on by default on non unknown world owned servers, really.

I can't remember where it was in the fsb's, but the filename was deploy_2d. It wasn't in the marine-files, it was in some strange one. I think it was streamed or ambient. It contains the "engine" startup as well, so the cool "Systems. Initialized" only comes at the end.
I love this game even though I'm terrible at it, simply because I can run around biting everyone's shins, or making the world my water slide.

But holding east wing as a gorge against overwhelming marine force was one of my favorite past times :(
I like the changes, docking is my favorite map, but i allways knew it needed som tweaking.

What settings do I need for best framerate. right now i got everything on low but it still gets choppy in big fights. its especially hard as a skulk with celerity, which was my favourite way to play in NS

Just played a 90 minute game, I'm gonna go lie down now.

Just played a great round on Mineshaft.
Marines held 3 bases and the aliens had 2 but it was a nightmare for them to hold the areas in between, after a few slogging matches between our sides the marines started to make a massive push through chavern and we couldn't really hold them at bay just slow them down and pick 1 or 2 off. At the same time our team launched our attack on Deposit. They way both sides had set up for this meant that it ended with a race to bulldoze through each others lines.
The final phase only lasted about 5 -10 mins but looking at the minimap seeing both forces parallel to one another was brilliant.
The aliens won because we managed to barely hold onto our final hive and took down the marines power in their last base. It had similar experiences like this but none of them quiet lived up to how that game played out. And the best part about it was that both teams congratulated the other.
