So just found my first Ghille Suit in a heli crash
Unfortunately it's an arctic one so now I look like a damn Yeti in the forest

Worth it? I've heard it's harder to install Day-Z on a non-steam copy of ARMA?
Might as well wait till the standalone comes out, shouldn't be too long hopefully.
Bloodsuckers can't climb ladders right?
What's the deal with namalsk? Is it like DayZ stalker? Haven't played DayZ in forever.
My friend and I are trying to find the Scientist Bunker from Yantar in Namalsk, I'm not sure it even exists but I remember there was a screenshot of people by it on that map. Could anyone help please?

Pretty much, a lot of places bear a direct resemblance to things from the games. Hell some models used in the map are actually from stalker.
I fucked up
I was checking out a chopper crash on the top of a mountain
Suddenly two bloodsuckers are right on top of me
I scare them away with 90 rounds of AK-107 ammo, and find a pair of NVGs and a PKM with 3 mags
And then I turn around and lordy lordy there's a littlebird sitting right there. After two minutes reacquainting myself with the controls, I go soaring off into the gray yonder. I do some flybys on people I've been chatting with, generally having a blast, then fly to Vorkuta to grab a Ghille suit I'd stashed in a tent when I'd died there earlier. I stick the landing perfectly, grab the suit, take off no trouble
I head back to the hospital, feeling like I'd had enough fun, and would do some more flying later. Plus I was getting low on fuel. I planned to drop my heli on the hospital's landing pad outside, run into the woods, log off, be done.
I did not. Instead, after recovering from one fuckup caused by Freelook, I had a second one right after, the chopper bounced off the ground, I bailed the fuck out, broke my leg and started bleeding, got stuck moving forward, had to quick relog and heal myself, leaving me at a tiny amount of blood and my chopper a flaming ruin.
But still, so so worth it.

Good session we had there. Shame everyone had to leave. :v:
I'm still up for more if some people wanna join the mumble.

You forced everyone to leave because you're such a terrible driver, skidding all over the place ... God ...

Lies. They stopped the jeep with no notice just in front of me. :v:
Sad times.

Vanilla with a hint of horrid driving.
I want to play
Wow
So some hacker got on our server
Sandstorm, destroy every vehicle explosively, then EMP us
Everyone died except me, somehow
I stay alive, with still 500 blood, run into a forest, then mow down three bloodsuckers chasing me before finally being killed by a fourth.
A fitting end for a man who survived jumping out of a chopper no chute
what servur u guize in?
Just started playing myself, found a bus and went on a tour of the map looting and killing zombies by running them over, ended up with an ak-74 cobra and a whole load of supplies, never met another human soul though. This game is fun.

how did you know how much blood you had left
some servers have it enabled
how did you know how much blood you had left
I'm guesstimating, I was flashy red, that's usually the very very low end of the blood thing, so I think it was about that much
Wish we had the debug thing still, though. It was nice keeping track of my kills
I haven't played vanilla in a long ass time. Last time I did was when I killed a hacker and took his shit. Pretty sure I still have an AS50 and M4A3 Holo w/ Silecner and Grenade launcher
Judging from that new interview, there won't be a lot new for atleast 6 months to a year (I'm talking about big game mechanics/game changers like adding construction, not being able to select new headgear). This shits me off a bit but hopefully the zombies are not boring in the SA and there's less visual lag (why does the FPS in DayZ die in the arse?).

Because ArmaII is terribly terribly optimized
I've never been so scared in my life, i was out running in the middle of nowhere and there was only three people on the server, then, all of a sudden i hear the most spine chilling shriek ever and another player popped up behind me, i was so scared that i smashed a can of soda over my desk and i turned the game off in a matter of two seconds.. god i'm not built for this game.

your avatar fits your post perfectly.
i used to be terrified of being caught by the zombies when I first played. my heart always used to drop and feel the adrenaline pump when I saw players. good shit.

I love how scared this game makes you
Esp. Namalsk. I feel like I'm gushing but jesus christ so many weapons and fucking bloodsuckers makes everything terrifying, even in the middle of the day. I'm grateful the server I'm on is about 75% friendlies otherwise I'd probably be crippled with fear and just not do anything

My first encounter with a bloodsucker was when I was foraging for supplies in some barracks, I heard its shriek and within 10 seconds it charged down the hall and killed me. My heart almost exploded.
I never got to see the blood sucker that was stalking me. I stook a step outside of a barracks in leb and some weird kind of air implosion killed me. Anomalies don't happen to be featured in Namalsk, right?
Anyone up for some DayZ? Get in the mumble, yo.
Oh man.
Wolfe, The Letter Q, and I had an amazing journey. Wolfe got seperated, Q and I went to the NWAF to chill, we go to Devil's Castle because why the fuck not, we meet up in Grishino, drive to the NEAF because we wanted a helo.
We find a fully working helo, but it needed fuel. In the hangar was a littlebird and another huey, albeit badly damaged. We fuel up the helo and we put our gear in it.
We realise the helo is full and our gear is everywhere.
Saying "fuck it", we fly off in search of helo crashes. We found one near Stary, and Wolfe got an M107. We fly off once again, near the NWAF there is another.
I say "alright I wanna search this one" and get out of the helo. I crouch to the helo while a door gunner protects me.
I loot a Bizon and 4 mags, and start going around the other side of the chopper.
I am teleported to a guy named Adam.
He shoots me with some hacked in variant of the L85.
Such is life.
I hate the scum who play this game sometimes
So I've been running around my server trying to help people all day, giving blood, grabbing parts, ect.
So a guy asks me to help him repair his heli. He needs an engine block. I happen to have two in my Offroad, so I tell him, sure I'll come help him. On my way towards the land bridge to meet him, I see two cars racing in the same direction. I stop to let them past, and as they reach the land bridge someone opens up on them. I think "Let me kill this bandit and save their asses". So, just as I've stopped my car to get out and start shooting at the guy emitting a wall of tracers at them, someone appear out of the brush, revolvers me to death before I can even raise my gun, then steals my car.
I don't know the last bit, however, until I spend forty minutes getting back to the car to try and help the guy, and I find my unlooted body on the ground, corpse still fresh, car full of helicrash and industrial loot gone. I'm understandably pissed, but resolve that, worst case scenario, I need to cross to get more meds to help people anyway. So I start swimming the canal, because I don't think the land bridge was a good idea.
Ten minutes later, I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, dodging sniper fire, until finally he hits me and yells over the radio "ha ha my last bullet at 900m". And I just want to fucking explode.
Guess that'll show me to play late at night.
