My Battle-Eye for DayZ absolutely refuses to update, I can't join any servers, and I just seemed to get Namalsk working too. D:
Battle-Eye's website update is picked up by my computer as a virus and wont let it run no matter what I do.
Any advice?

so i have a rather spooky story for you all
i was playing in namalsk, coming up on some wide open compound with 4 big towers at each corner
i was in the woods immediately outside of the place
i was running towards the compound when i noticed a bush that wasn't quite right
it slowly started turning and it turned out that the bush was actually a ghillie wookie
i shot it a couple times and missed each time, and then the dude ran up to me and just stared at me
i did what any reasonable person would do, and mag dumped into his face
this mysterious wookie would have none of it, he walked off the mag dump, took a knee, and dropped all of his gear
he ran a couple strides away and saluted me
i looked down
the gear he dropped was an exact carbon replica of what i was carrying at the time
i quickly saluted him back, then noped the fuck out of there and took off towards the compund
i managed to corral all the zombies into a corner, and then i made my way towards the walled-in blank corridor leading to the tower
i climbed up the tower, shot a renegade zombie that was in hot pursuit up the ladder, and then proceeded to look around
then i climbed to the top
there was yet another replica of my gear up there
thoroughly freaked out, i noped my way down the tower, and there was a third replica of my gear at the base, which i'm pretty gosh darn sure wasn't there before
all in all, 10/10 would get stalked again

Yesterday I found 3 heli crashes with my buddy within 40 minutes, today we were driving around and found one heli crash, stop and transport all the gear to the truck, and spot another heli crash, go there, get all the gear in the truck and what do we find? another heli crash on the horizon! go there and once again get the gear in the truck, then a hacker spawns around 200 doctor zombies around every single player on the server, we GTA'd around for a while (by that I mean we ran most of them over :v:) and then went to a safe spot to hide the truck, where we left an M16, M14, 2x FN FAL, 2x Bison and an AK74 along with a bunch of ammo for all of them. I kept a DMR and my friend kept another FN FAL. All of this came from the heli crashes :v:

I found an FAL the other day
Unfortunately finding ammo for it is even more of a nightmare than finding toolboxes is

Most of the heli crashes had 1 or 2 FN FALs for me, ammo was scarce though, around 3 magazines for it per heli crash.

Ever since seeing this, especially after the ghost truck part I've fantasied about installing hacks to freak people out (rather than outright being a troll/pain in ass game ruiner).
I think possessing a model with a bloody skin holding an axe going slenderman mode like that guy in the video would be classic.
After about five months abstaining from DayZ and Arma in general, I decided I'd play again.
I started out, in the middle of a forest, with a 1911, an AS50, and a ghillie suit. I remembered that I "finished" Dayz, because I had all the gear a man could want in DayZ and more. I quit playing, and summer break ended.
After observing my surroundings, I notice a man appearing out of nowhere. If I kept one instinct from DayZ, it was to shoot anyone who got too close, whether knowingly or not. I shot three into his head. He was not phased. With one AS50 shot, I was dead.
Unfortunately, the one instinct I should have kept, was to Alt-F4 when a hacker is about.
What a nice welcome back. Feels good knowing that nothing has changed.

Speaking of which, I've kinda won the firepower lottery there, found a PKP and have, as of now, 1100 rounds for it
Seriously, it's a goddamn automatic DMR with the most common LMG ammo in the game and it can be zeroed. Literally the only downside is it's loudness but given the ammo surplus I can last forever against any zombie horde

Namalsk is hands down my favorite map, so many extra features compared to the rest. Panthera is also really fun with the right people.
Taviana is pretty cool. The long bridge connecting the two islands is a war zone, and you only spawn on the right island, never the left. So crossing by boat, foot, or swim is the only way.
Namalsk always has that survival feel due the low spawn rate of food and water. I remember the first time I've ever encountered mountain dew, I found an as50 at a crash sight, killed some dude then a hacker shot me. He then patched me up, gave me a ghillie and pretty much everything. I went to A2 to watch a battle go on due to the "lack of food". They didn't see me, I managed to pick them all off, and gather their food.
