Lol, was just freshly spawned near Cherno and managed to, in the pitch black night, work my way to the firestation. Outside I see someone throwing down flares, when a voice over mic calls to me asking if I'm friendly. At that moment I find an AK on the top floor and pick it up. The bloke in a bandit skin walks up and, assuming I'm new and cant tell what a bandit is, says he's friendly.
Sure enough I lower my rifle and he immediately fires his shotgun at my face. Well he managed to miss me in that tight hall, and I didn't make the same mistake. I sprayed him with a good mag, looted his corpse, and proceeded to get shot as I hid nearby in a church. :v:
This is only a few minutes after a trio of guillied up loonies land a chopper near me, order me to drop my weapon, take it, then shoot me after I call them assholes.
What a game.
why did you lower your rifle?
I never understood why people lower their weapons when someone tells them to do so, whenever someone does that to me I spray the fuck out of them.
I've decided that I'm going KoS unless I've decidedly been contacted by someone and/or vice versa and we decide to team up

If I'm not in a voice channel with them, I shoot first.
On Namalsk once I was looting a tower out in the middles of nowhere (Them things are dangerous as fuck by the way).
I had already waited, and scared off, someone before... so it looked clear. I ran up there, looking for AK mags. Once I got to the top I heard engines go by and started to hurry. As I was heading for the stairs I saw a dude coming up so I ran to the other side of the pylon hoping it'd be a barrier enough. I called out "Alright dude, I got what I wanted, I'm just gonna leave now, this doesn't have to end badly" as he was coming up.
I saw him start to take aim, and I ran to the left as I took a couple rounds in the chest. I rounded the corner and just started shooting at him. Unloaded an entire mag at him, killed him, looted his shit, and ran.
It didn't have to end that way man, but no. You had to go and shoot at me.
SO NOW I GET YOUR SHIT AND YOUR LIFE.
why did you lower your rifle?
It took me a second to identify his bandit skin, and I tend to play as humanely as possible so I never accidentally shoot any new players or friendlies. I take my chances and deserve every kill and death I get.
That being said I might play my next life as a cold-hearted, noob-killing, bandito and take my chances equally.

I think that's my plan now
Too many times spent typing or yelling 'friendly' instead of killing ass
I feel bad though because the last time I went wild I killed a newbie in the same camp as the guy who shot me by accident, and said guy then killed me.
More skin variety to identify people when just starting will really be a nice feature of SA
Holy shit, never tried robbing people before. It's hella fun
"STAND AND DELIVER!"
Just so everyone gets it straight with to which why newspawns get shot all the time.
You are new, you have no threatening gear or anything just like how everyone else started. In other words, you are really good target practice.
Also, I wouldn't call myself a "bandit", just more of a shoot people who announce their position globally, or shoot people who threaten myself/squad, or just out of boredom. I will never forget luring people to go on top of a compound for a pickup in friends huey, then blasting them with the m240.
good times.

dude look in your options and make your 3d resolution the same as your other resolution and the game will be much more crisp maybe
trying this out.

OH GOD I'VE BEEN PLAYING LIKE THIS THE ENTIRE TIME?
/wrists
Stopped a pickup near balota, waiting for my buddy and see one guy coming, had a DMR so as soon as I see he has a bandit skin, an AK74 and is observing me with his binoculars, I headshot the bastard.
The DMR is noisy as hell and being near balota obviously I attracted attention, as I looted his body and transfered some stuff to the pickup, another guy shows up, hiding next to a tree. I go to the forest to flank him and he gets in my pickup and starts driving off, at this point I don't even care if the pickup takes a hit so I shoot him in the head and his body falls off the pickup, I quickly loot his body as well, place the stuff in the pickup and get in it, telling my buddy I'm going to wait for him somewhere else.
As soon as I start driving off some other sniper headshots me and I die, spawn near where I was, run over there and my body is still where it was, with all the loot I had in it, including the DMR and the 13 DMR mags I had, picked it all up, my buddy finally arrived, we walk 200 meters and what do we find? the pickup the sniper had stolen, and the guy was nowhere to be seen, we took it and drove off.
tl;dr - I kill 2 guys trying to steal my pickup, get killed by a third who proceeds to take nothing from my body, drive 200 meters and leave the pickup intact with all the gear still in it.
Another funny episode with vehicle thieves, later that day my buddy is driving a black car, he stops it in some city to get some gear from the church, someone steals his car and just drives around trying to run him over, then leaves. My buddy tells me what direction he went in, I walk maybe 500 meters from the city and find the car in the middle of the road, still intact with all the gear in it, the thief is nowhere to be seen... but here's the catch! we were running low on fuel and this guy completely refueled it :v:
tl;dr - Guy steals car low on fuel from my buddy, refuels it completely and leaves it intact with all the gear in it, 500 meters away from where he stole it.
My game won't work can someone help me? Combined Operations disappeared and when I try playing on just Operation Arrowhead it doesn't let me in the servers. I have Alpha and Beta updated
Ever since a buddy of mine purchased his own server we've been getting attacked by hackers at least once a day, the amount of them increases as more players are on the server. I just hate it because when one asshole decides to pull shit like that it ends up emptying the server of all people aside from the regulars that play, then we have to wait for a few hours playing alone with a couple of people as we wait for people to trickle back in. It's a never ending cycle.
Could you pm me the IP? I'd like to play on a moderated server for once. I'm Slendermang [SWG-FTL] in the game.
Decide to play DayZ on Namlask. Run around for a while manage to find a shotgun and a makarov, run around more run into some guy with a DMR. He claims friendly and we walk for like ten feet and he asks me if I could give him a blood pack. I ask him if he has one, he says no I say I have none and then he shoots me. That's what I get for trying to be a good person. Anyone group up and play DayZ on Namlask here? (More than likely, it looks like it.)
This has to be the most HACKED game ever in HISTORY.
Entire server teleported to elektro forced dancing animation to GANGNAM STYLE.
God.
Whenever I play Day Z I usually stick around the coast just getting low tier weapons like double barrel shotguns and stuff or just hang out on the hills overlooking cities. But this time I came across a PDW with about 3 mags, and an MP5 with 3 mags as well in one firestation. And instead of sticking around the coast I just ran towards the middle of the whole map to know who knows what. After a bit of running I found the crashed helicopter and when i came closer the soldier zombies jsut spawned so I assumed no one had found it yet. I looted myself an M14 and a few medical supplies

And then you ditch the MP5, but keep the mags cause you can use em in the PDW, Riiiiight?

The PDW is seriously the best gun in the game for looting
MP5 has 2nd best only because it's a mainslot and thus takes up the space for a killing rifle or LMG
But seriously, I'd never take anything over a PDW. Can use most ammo, high cap, can go full auto in a pinch
Hackers can go die in a fire.
Hackers can go die in a fire.
They can't, actually, which is the main problem with 'em.

me and a friend found 2 choppers near a camp.
after a few minutes of flying i proseed to crash my helli into his in mid air

PDW is really terrible, the recoil is atrocious, the damage is very low and it suffers from the arma 2 pistol configuration bug that makes pistol shots go everywhere.
The scorpion is like the pdw but good, there's little recoil and like the OA revolver it's accurate.
dunno if there's scorpions in dayz though
I still haven't even seen a vehicle, broken or intact, other than a single bicycle.

I'll have you know that me and 2 other friends fixed a huey and proceeded to loot every single barracks on Lingor yesterday.

Huh? PDW deals the same damage as the M9 and all the other small handguns.
Only difference is that it can take 30 rounds, fire at a beastly rate of fire. In other words, it's the perfect backup panic weapon.
Me and 3 other friends were just chilling out by our campsite when suddenly some asshole flash bangs the entire group and starts firing at us.
WOO AT LEAST NOBODY DIED!
I'm working on a custom mission file for taviana that adds more wrecks and small changes such as being able to tow/airlift vehicles
Should be fun!

Yes, that's the point. In semi-auto you can still do headshots like all the other handguns, only with a massive backup reserve and a panic mode. It's no main gun but for zombie killing you can't get much better than that, sans a silenced AR

What happened to your namalsk server you had running?
Story time:
Me and a friend (Fausty) were playing on Namalsk just now. I was graced by the gods to find a truck that worked and had a quarter tank of fuel about 15 minutes after spawning. I used it to get to where Fausty was, which was the Old Hospital. Being lucky again, I found a jerrycan along the road and filled the car up to around to half a tank.
I was able to get to the Hospital just in time as I ran over a dozen of zombies swarming the area and picked him up. Also there was "IM FRIENDLY", who somehow was a dog but swore he did not use hacks. I ignored him, and drove off to a safe area just outside the hospital. I let Fausty take the wheel, figuring he had a better idea of where to go.
Maybe he did, but it didn't matter much. He drove for only a few minutes, but somehow went so fast uphill that the car launched up, smashed into a tree, and completely lost a back tire.
I'm not letting him drive ever.
