Aslong as the game isn't a laggy piece of shit. I have a beast PC and no matter how low I go on the settings I'll get around 10-15 FPS most games which is unbearable. Considering I'll get 50 frames sometimes (fresh server restart?) says to me it's all in the dodgey engine. I can max out BF3 no problems to put things in context.
When I play DayZ is get mediocre framerate, but when I play Wasteland it's fairly good considering I'm on a laptop

Probably map size
I get much better framerates on Namalsk than I do on Chernarus because the map is so much smaller, I believe

Is there still a FP server?
Probably just had the funnest time in Day Z. Usually as a fresh spawn, I just run around finding basic gear in Cherno and Elektro. I meet a guy, talk to him, he gives me some food and we're on our way. I find another guy, he gets hit by a zombie resulting with his bones breaking and he yells for help on direct chat. I help him out and all of a sudden 3 other guys come out and help cover me. Long story short, we end up teaming up for about 2-3 hours talking on teamspeak and eventually adding another guy to our squad. We go to the castle (Forgot which) and on our way we find a crash helicopter and get decent loot. After going to the castle, we headed to Stary and just found more loot. After, we went to the airstrip and a helicopter flew past and we quickly hid with the trees. After, we split into two teams. Me and two other people on one side of the airstrip and the other two on the left. The two who went on the left get shot at and killed making me and the others I was with alert as hell. I hear bullets hitting the ground next to me and figure out they're coming from behind in the forest so I just shoot back. We eventually just run away since we knew we were surrounded. :dance:
Was a fun playthrough. Glad I added one of the guys I was with on Steam.

I once left zupa out on an island in the middle of nowhere with no map / compass and a boat with debatable amounts of fuel when he was afk
it was glorious.
We failed hard. Our attempt to kill some people that landed near Stary with a littlebird failed: Zupa was sniped while circling the military tents with the chopper, I was sniped while camping our chopper's wreck from a nearby hill, hoping they come and loot Zupa's corpse. :suicide:

yep, i get generally a difference of 2-4 fps if i turn crossfire off.
Don't know how interested you guys are. But I started my own DayZ server. I got tired of asshat children camping everything all the fucking time with AS50's and having all my possessions stolen constantly on the uber 24/7 always full server I used to play.
I mean, I hope that stuff will still happen. Just not every time I spawn.

All vehicles are on the server, including a special one that is hidden. It's a 24/7 daytime server as well, so no bullshit darkness. The map is Taviana.

I've tried this twice, where a zombie hits me and I just fall over unconscious with broken bones and proceed to die.

Well, one time I died, the other time my friends bandaged me while I was unconscious, we then tried to flee in a car and I fainted again while in the car, which teleported me outside where I died.

HDD problems with loading textures maybe or your cpu is having trouble loading the stuffs like the client loaded zombies in the dayzmod.
Had really nice loot. Cz550 with 2 clips, g17 with 3 clips and a map and other awesome stuff on a public hive. Logged out because i got this weird message saying DONT QUIT or something. It locked my game even though i had not been on combat that life. Relogged and i spawn with a new char at the coast.
This has happened every time I have made a char on a public hive.

I remember me and some of the FP mumble squad lured Zupa and his friends to come help me out in stary because I had broken legs. It was clearly a trap and ended up both of his friends getting killed, then us being fucking idiots decided we should just let our guard down and he "mistakenly" killed 5 of us in one spray :v: Then we all became friends again.

Actually its just regular Dayz
The server admin added a couple military bases throughout the map and expanded the airfields too.
The one in my screenshots was held by the server admin and his group.

You need to fix the loot tables. I found a heli and picked up some friends on your server. Went to the oil rigs and nothing was spawned even though it was like 30 minutes after a server reset.
Something that's really irked about DayZ is the fact that the eyepieces of the binoculars aren't even aligned properly. Stupid arma devs.

No the thing about Arma 2 that irks you is that the Devs did the eyepieces wrong as Dayz is only using it as it is currently a mod.
Dayz standalone will probably not use the same binoculars and more attention will hopefully be made.

Would be epic because you would not have to kill on sight you could tazer and then find out if they are friendly once on the ground. Hopefully they will be widely accessible so this becomes the norm rather than just killing.
But then again you have to think are the majority of people just killing on sight because they want to and not because they don't know if the other is friendly.
