Five Arma 2 CO clients connected to the same host, also on the same computer. Copy protection sets their respawn point to the ocean, though.
I seem to be having a problem in that i can connect to the DayZ servers, and i even managed to play for a bit (still had my character with a makarov from the last time i played) but when i eventually died it sticks on the "creating character" screen when attempting to respawn.
Could someone help?

I get a password pop up when I attempt to join, it's been like this for about 20 minutes now. Will it just go away after a while or is the server actually passworded?

It's when the server is about to restart, the server is restarted now, you can join

I had a pretty good run last night, trying to make this game fun for me again.
Played with 2 friends, we killed ourselves so we could spawn somewhat closer to each-other.
We grouped up, and started sneaking inland. We got to Bor and managed to find a dead guy with 2 blood-packs, and M14 and a hatchet. We were shot at by a sniper, but our bloodpacks saved my friend. We used our M14 to take down another survivor who was setting up a fire.
We took his foodstuffs, which was mostly cola, beans and some meat, alongside his MP5. We enjoyed our meals, and headed back to Bor.
I guess the sniper had friends, though, because we ate a mouth-full of AS50 when we got to our tents.

Somewhat. We will add some stuff from ArmA 3, Take On Helicopters and VBS. Like the volumetric clouds, ragdolls, dynamic lightning. A lot of stuff from ArmA 3 i must admit, but optimized for DayZ. Because ArmA 3 is the Rolls-Royce of simulation, and DayZ doesn't need that amount of realism. We will just pick and choose whatever we need to make our own custom " DayZ " engine.

Yes, but the map we call " Chernarus Plus " will be a bit expanded, with new places, and much more open buildings. New maps will come, but later.
Otherwise, new system for melee combat, new inventory, anti-ALT + F4 ( similar to MMO system where you have to wait ) and server hopping.
Lot of promises and ideas but we never saw shit so far. Especially on the mod ( lol dogs ). So wait & see.

Its a shame we arent getting the full ArmA3 engine, that would have been awesome graphics wise.
Ragdolls is already a huge fucking improvement.
Honestly that was the only thing i wanted from the ArmA 3 engine.
The graphics parts might be the ones dayz will grab.
The parts left out will probably have more to do with aspects of arma 3 that dayz wont use like airplanes, armor, artillery and such.
