Log onto a non hive server, then back to a hive server. The hive will forget your position and spawn you back at the coast. Thats what it always does when I join non hive servers, give it a shot instead of crying.

Didn't work and I'm definitely not crying. Just don't feel like wasting my time, therefore I'm looking for alternate places to play. I know plenty of people here play on different servers than USPVT and I'm looking for a new home.

A friend and I are thinking hosting a Private Hive server with a few tweaks to the game. We're thinking of ways to make it more interesting. Experimenting with spawning people with a pistol again like ye old DayZ, or maybe with a Hatchet, or an ammo-less pistol and no bandages etc
We wouldn't go crazy as we want to retain the general DayZ setup, but things like a "hardcore week" where players spawn with absolutely nothing etc
Seeing as it's private hive, would people enjoy this? I reckon it'd would be fun to play around with some of the chopper spawns too, instead of having it always spawn on Skalisty, we would still keep it one chopper per reset, but have it spawn on a possible 3-4 locations, perhaps spawning fully repaired but over a potential 8 spawn points and what not.
I dunno. I like Hive servers for general play, but Private Hives are always nice because they always have a nice spin to them that make it a bit more interesting to play, particularly as a fresh spawn.
Today I was playing at College (bad idea in hindsight), and I was walking through some forest near Zelenogorsk. I hear the faint hums of an engine, so I turn around and I see a car ripping it through the woods heading in my direction, so I started yelling over the mic half-jokingly "Hey! Can you please pick me up, I'm a friendly, we're friends right? I love you!" So then he pulls up beside me honking his horn. I get in and I notice 2 guys inside, one of which is wearing a jigsaw mask.

My friend starts trying to type things on the keyboard, and silly me told him how to chat, hoping he'd behave himself. He started telling them "You suck dicks" whilst i'm trying to fight him off the keyboard after I realized what he was typing. Then I promptly apologized. Then he said "Nice jigsaw mask faggot", which I apologized for again, still fighting him off the keyboard. Then they pulled up beside this guy in a ghillie suit and tried to pick him up whilst i'm still fighting my friend off of the keyboard. They were telling me to get out of the car so that their friend could get in; so I tried to get back to playing in time to get out of the the car, but before I could do anything they said "he's nigger, kill him!" and they shot me to death just as I pressed the "get out" button.
And we all had a good laugh :v:

Don't make people spawn with pistols, It was pretty fucking annoying to die with end game gear to some fresh spawn with a makarov from behind.

Yeah, I know it's a pain. Just spitballing tbh, but we want to stray far enough from the norm that it's interesting, without getting so far away that's it's unlike regular Hive servers.
Just had a hell of night.
Some hacker spawned a UH-1H (he didn't get it legit despite the fact it is possible to get one legit) and he was flying around in elektro, my friend and I was watching him, he touched down and got out but got banned by an admin. Basically we bolted to the heli, I got in as pilot (I know how to fly) and we flew around the map.
As we were flying over Stary, we took some heavy fire and some damaged but my friend who was a gunner was firing at them and actually killed someone at pitch black at night. We touched down @ NW Airfield, he grabbed some loot and got out.
We were going to stop at Devil's castle but some bandits were there and started shooting, so I hauled my ass out of there. We flew over to Krasnostav airstrip and touched down. Everything was going well and as he was coming back from looting, I think some hacker spawned next to me as I saw "Give Morphine" even though my friend was not at the heli.
Jumped in my heli, freaked the fuck out and crashed. The first heli I ever found in DayZ and best find I've ever had in DayZ.

You realize there are hackers on all servers? I'm serious too, its been a couple months with a fuckton of hackers you should have gotten used to loosing your precious bandages by now.

He got it working on Panthera pretty easily, he was just too lazy to get lootspawns working properly for every building. Also adding vehicles and remaking the loot tables so they would work properly for all the custom buildings in Panthera.
The map just didn't seem to suit DayZ very well considering there were some roads that had enterable house after house lined up, which would lead to way too much loot spawning. Outside towns there was quite literally nothing but mountains and the odd foliage. The cities were also very small and looked extremely undetailed.
All in all, its playable, but its not a very good environment for DayZ. Its like 60% mountain, 20% desert, 20% roads and settlements.

I added a password to the servername to cut down the amount of join spam we get, and hackers usually have lesser IQ then the majority so.. lets try it.

I wish Rocket would use the ACEX gun models, the fucking M16M203 is unbearable to use in its normal mode, the ACE one is way better.
