Anyone hit a weird bug later after the last update? I got set back to 1.62.95248 and it wont update or change at all. So i can't get on any good servers or anything. This after that hacker TP me and I logged off USPVT.
[editline]17th September 2012[/editline]
Ok ... so I can't join like any server using dayz commander it locks me to 1.62.9528. But the six lunches works fine and lets me play updated Arma 2 servers. But commander says I'm running 96895 even tho I it boots up 9528. This is really weird and random.
If anyone knows about this I would like some input. Commander worked fine till I logged of USPVT then a hour later it just messes up. I never changed anything but watched a youtube video while off for that hour.
RIP streamer and his 7 friends

Me and a friend went into Cherno to loot the bodies of bandits I killed. Little did we know they had a 3rd buddy. He was waiting in a fucking corner with a hatchet, no gun out. My friend dives below me and I pop him with my silenced M4. Took his food and drinks, along with a GPS and other random stuff. Came to find out they had a bike there too. We rolled out ringing the bell, fully loaded on food, drinks, items and weapons. What a good night.
Oh, and in the 2 months I've played, I have yet to see 1 hacker. I play in the same server every time though.
I died yesterday and got off, got on today and re spawned in cherno, and I have a makarov SD. I spawned with it apparently.

Are you sure you aren't on a private hive that just gives you one every time you spawn? Otherwise neat.

I am p. sure it is on uspvt.
just found a double barrelled shotgun, an akm, alice pack and 4 painkillers in an abandoned tent
yay me
[editline]18th September 2012[/editline]
scratch that, just got axed from behind :C
I found a DMR (ten mags) and alice pack, teamed up with this guy named Robertson for an hour, then he shot me with a sniper we looted from a guy that was about to kill him.
Guess that teaches me to trust strangers on Dayz
I don't even trust people in mumble anymore

I played with some guys in mumble for 3 hours and then they shot me, banned me from their mumble

It's tough if you aren't in the club, I agree.

Eh, no idea. Happy birthday then!
I don't even trust people in mumble anymore
The only people I trust are me, myself, and I.
i joined the mumble once, then
"get the fuck out moses"
oh well
this is becoming ridiculous, I've been killed 7 times in an hour now and each one of those times I was a complete freshspawn
It's a shame that freshspawns can no longer put up any form of self defense. It does make friending new players much easier since there's no chance they can just blast you in the face. They end up relying on you since you have the gun.
Only to shoot you in the back as soon as they get one.
So since I'm still stuck in Debug Plains ever since that hacker a few days ago, how do I start fresh since respawn button is blocked out and relogging isn't working along with the restart button? Just stand around until I die from dehydration/starvation?

Technically sprinting will do you in faster. Just throw something heavy on the w key or rebind it to spacebar, take a nap or something.
Ugh hate hackers. My mate Jamie killed one and he TP'd behind Jamie and blew him up. I wasn't too far away and shot him, he does the same to me :smith:
Ah well, it was a new character anyway.
Goodbye 2 month old character with as50 and everything else.
Damn hackers.

I'm sure a Makarov will protect me against the sniper in Cherno treeline a km away with a AS50.

Can just alt tab while holding w then when you alt tab back in you will be auto running.

Yeah, that's not our fault if you manage to wander into a hotzone. The problem with a lot of freshspawns is that they would just stay along the coast and the main cities shooting people as they freshlyspawn. In fact, that was the reason those cities made great sniping areas because there was a higher population of people being stupid and PvPing rather than getting the basic stuff and heading inland.
Am I the only person that feels a little bit relieved when you die?
The problem with DayZ is that you reach the 'end game' too quickly, and the end game sucks.
Jeez. Aint got nothing to do nowadays except avoiding people and running around in forest with endgame gear.
Don't wanna lose it, though.

this is the problem with all sandbox games, the eternal problem. dayz manages it better than a lot with the persistent servers and 'dead is dead' thing, as well as needing to eat and drink, but when you're kitted out and have a camp and shit, the lack of challenges tends to make things less interesting.
I think we should start petitioning for a Zombie Dragon just past the north border of the map that can short-range teleport, become invisible to the naked eye, and turn your inventory items into beans. You'll need a fully armed squad of 10+ men with AS50s, and L85 AWS to spot it because of the invisibility, and once you've hit it enough it'll get knocked out and you'll have to place a satchel charge in it's gear menu to kill it.
And theeeen we can complain about having nothing to do.

You're using end game gear wrong then. In my opinion, the only reason to acquire end game gear is to go PVP in Cherno and Elektro when the servers population is 40+. Why? Because there's a challenge there, people desperately want your shit and you more so don't want to lose it. It makes for very intense encounters between people who attack you, and the feeling of relief once the gun fight is over is astounding. Because that gear doesn't represent some digital pixels, it represents an hour or two of effort of rather going back to your camp, raiding tents or going to the airfields.
Oppositely however you can just sit on a hill and snipe like a wanker, which has no challenge unless you're using a DMR (and even then maybe) and no real danger (unless you happen to be on the same hill as someone else doing the exact same thing). I've been in Cherno for the past three days with full survival gear, barricades and my trusty PP19, rather helping out newbies by giving them some basic gear (Full set of medical supplies, beans and water and a empty Makarov is the usual deal) then sending them off or dealing with snipers and bandits. To be honest, it's the most fun I've had in a long while with this game.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention placing satchel charges around the city and blowing them up - attracts bandits like a moth to flame. The PP19 isn't exactly a fantastic PVP weapon though, and I've escaped three times with an .303 in the chest or a Makarov clip in the leg.
