But "HACKER!" is the new "IT'S AN ALPHA!"
To be honest though, the hacking is a ridiculously bad problem in this game. RobbL may have not run into a hacker out of sheer luck; but on a lot of populated public servers hackers run rampant. Yesterday I had been teleported to the ocean on 3 separate servers. On another everyone was mass teleported to the power plant where the hacker massacred everyone using a GAU canon attached to his chest. Even just today I was playing with a friend an hour ago a hacker mass broke everyone's legs.
The problem is a lot worse than in other games; what makes it especially annoying in DayZ is that since it's permadeath you may lose everything you had looted over the past 3+ hours. Normal game bugs shouldn't bother anyone because that's been a fairly controllable problem with it being in Alpha; the hackers on the other hand are relentless.

Also here's my LP of DayZ, you can see the swag stuff I just totally lost at the end where I kill a sniper from behind like a scrub.
If it's to any consolation, BE has done another update, which is able to scan for programs reading and changing the game memory. It's fucking funny, really, as memory editing/reading is the normal way of hacking in most games, but in Arma 2 scripting has been so easy nobody was using memory reading/editing until now.
It'll most likely get rid of the people who magically knows where everything is, and somehow has any weapon they ever need(including gau8).

The rule is pickup new bag = relog, otherwise it resets you to the last bag you had when you previously logged in.

I don't have a problem with people spawning endgame gear as much as I do with the hackers that do shit to just ruin the game. Even then, those scripts still work, it just means you have to jihad your CDKey for that moment of shits n' giggles.

I can never be sneaky up in the hills around Cherno. I went up there yesterday because a couple of people were saying that someone was sniping freshspawns, and I decided while I was passing through, I'd try and take them out.
I barely even got to see the city before I was sniped.

Most of the guys that are using it aren't even aware of the update. They go "IндeтeCтaбel!! ))))" and teleporting around, they'll get banned in a wave later.
I tried it myself, and it was fun, but goddamn you notice how many hackers you have in dayz, as you can see people are teleporting around, killing everyone.
I had fun by destroying nonvital buildings of electro and cherno, and studying the map, looking for people who are teleporting. I either joined forces with them or blasted them with my gau8 :v:
Once you've broken the legs of three people you realize it's more fun to make people go "WTF LOL" than "WTF I DIED".

Yesterday I joined a random Pub server and saw that it had become overrun with hackers. People were teleporting about, spawning vehicles in front of one another, mass teleporting vehicles to one location, and even spawning weapon boxes all over. Another guy I play with had DayZ Navigator open and pointed out the amount of teleporting players/vehicles while we were playing on another pub server.
James needs to learn to stay the fuck out of the War Z thread. :v:
I found mountain dew, binoculars, an aks 74 kobra, a g17, a watch, a map, and a coyote backpack, found it all from a corpse infront of the cherno firehouse. I'm probably going to end up joining a server and getting sniped in a second due to all the bad luck charms i'm carrying.

At least you're not carrying a radio.

I found a radio as well so i'm pretty much fucked.
Oh God, I've got a radio, I need to ditch this thing. :v:

Holy shit did you hold mouse 1 long enough on that sniper?

I was there, took 13 of that
Rocket really needs to patch the debug fields glitch. Its extremely game-braking and isn't exactly predictable so you can't avoid it either.
Its happened to me twice now in my first week of playing the mod and its very frustrating even though this is only an alpha.
rocket gave up on the mod, he is working full time on the stand alone.
The mod can't be saved in its current state.

no problem mate, this was the tent city 2.0 with 11 as50's, 50 nato rounds, 4 nvgs, 2 laser markers, couple of radios and some camping tents.
Thanks for stopping by my friend.

Why would it matter? I wasn't keeping the AKM and he needed to die so what would be the point in not emptying my mag into him.
I've spent two hours in Elektro on ANZ1 spewing nonsense about the Sky Mother Cult over mic and text chat to passers by. Then, two stubborn people refused to leave my sanctum of worship, therefore their presence tarnished my sanctum and I blew the fucking hospital into molecules with Satchels. I then killed a hacker, and die in honorable combat (as Crowbars only), whispering my final words "May the Sky Mother embrace my into the eternal realm of the Sky..." where as the group I attempted to attack laughed their asses off.
It has been a good way to start holidays.
Who ever killed me and my buddy at Elektro's fire station near the power station, Nice one.
If there were no snipers I would totally just live in electro, its a nice town minus the spree killers and undead.
Somebody asked for a bandage and he said he will buy me a 20$ dollar game.

I had some fun with it, especially the multiplayer. That was before most of the servers started running those stupid no-cross maps though.

You virtually couldn't see him after the second shot. No it wouldn't matter, but firing enough to not even hit the target anymore can backfire pretty hard. That's the point I was getting at.
Luckily he got killed somewhere along the line of 2/3 through the mag.
Uuh.
So i found a UAZ in elektro, scavenging abit and fixed it.
Drove to firestation, got out for a sec. Saw body, hear an engine rev up.
UAZ is gone.

either some awesome genius winner was in it the entire time, or much more likely, you shouldn't have driven it right up to the damn firestation
