Heaps of people must of stopped playing Day Z on this one server I always play on... So far I've found about 8-9 tents.. most of which are full of end-game loot and vehicles are in their normal spawn locations.

Alot of people have stopped playing dayZ, myself included. It's not fun when you work your ass off for several hours every day trying to get the best shit. Then some faggot ass hacker teleports and kills you. And you're back to scratch, a week wasted.. This happened to me and my clan so many times. I'm currently just waiting for the standalone game. And I think alooot of other people are as well.

Furthermore, for electronic items such as Night Vision Goggles or range finders, durability becomes extremely important. I have been experimenting with tying this into the damage system also, with good results... i.e. shoot someone in the head and cause huge damage to items on their head. So I guess, to answer the question: the changes with standalone entirely change the relationship between equipment and the player. These changes as first seem rather trivial but quickly you can see how these will have very significant flow-on effects to the player. Hence, I am not spending any time at all focusing on re-balancing the weapons currently, rather focusing on increasing the authenticity using a few simple, yet wide-reaching, mechanic changes to "add" to the game rather than nerf something because it has an undesired effect. Wow this weapon degradation thing might also mean that bandits won't really kill you all time for loot since they also damage your gear by killing you, so that means bandits will actually need to think of a way to get your gear without destroying it. Probably handcuffing, take gear, let free. So basicly you could think of a player beeing shot at he looses blood which leaves marks on the ground and footsteps which again lead to his corpse or something among that. [editline]24th October 2012[/editline] Also switching the mechanic system in dayzgame from the traditional arma into an object system allows to have helmets (that actually affect gameplay) body vests and all kind of gear related addition. Oh man expect to be blown away by the changes made to dayz and depthness in december.

I hope zombies become a much larger threat in the standalone game, and not a nuisance that you have to deal with every once in a while. Right now it's pretty much only other players that you have to be on the lookout for. I also hope the game will be much more fluid (in lack of a better word), in movement, shooting and enemies. It all feels very clumsy and slow.

I have a video coming up on saturday, 40 minutes in length, of us being bandit assholes and taking over Elektro killing everyone in sight. I'm usually not a straight up bandit, I play neutral and act on gut instinct but this night we just wanted to shoot people.. so we did.. and it was amazing fun.
