Appears I died a bit farther before this rollback.
I rolled back 2:30min
Now that I've actually played it and can confirm that The War Z is a shitty attempt at cashing in on the DayZ craze, as well as seeing the screenshots of DayZ standalone and the post about item degradation and stuff, I'm just getting more and more excited for standalone.
so today i angered a bandit. i carelessly took a few shots at him from a hospital, bolted down the ladder, ran behind and logged off. i figured i might as well get being needlessly killed over with, so i logged back in ready to run screaming at him until he unloads ungodly amounts of lead into my porous bullet-receptor jellyskin, but.. i spawned inside the hospital. and he was perched at the top looking for me. golden opportunity.
i shouted over direct a rainbow-like diversity of prolific slurs and insults, mostly "HEY SPERGLORD FAGGOT SUPREME JUMP OFF" and he was just scrambling around, so angry and determined to find me and destroy me by my individual atoms. i guess he eventually got bored because he left without saying a word so, being the glorious engine of arma 2, i grabbed a ladder through the wall and broke all my bones at once, twice. in the end i still died but it was more personally satisfying than getting shot in the head
am i a terrible person?
Haha, that's great. I have a video coming up on saturday, 40 minutes in length, of us being bandit assholes and taking over Elektro killing everyone in sight. I'm usually not a straight up bandit, I play neutral and act on gut instinct but this night we just wanted to shoot people.. so we did.. and it was amazing fun.
Your videos are cool :) I just started up a new channel (old one was on it's last legs 55,000 subscribers with like 45,000 of them being inactive/dead accounts, over 1000 videos I felt like the channel had lost all personality and relevance) new one is going well so far. You got my sub :)
Thanks :D
Subbed to your channel too. After watching your bus video I really want to find a bus, looks so fun.

It's the internet, there is no "mature" group of video game players

They are there, you just gotta look for them.
point proven. ty WarRocker32.
back on topic. I encountered a hacker last night. he teleported us all to this huge empty field and stood there swinging at us with an axe. In the chaos i managed to get into his pack and grab his as50, and killed him with it. That was pretty funny

There is a group in Australia called 'TOG' or 'The Older Gamers' you have to be 35+ to join.
On topic of Day Z. I'm in a group called ANZDAG, it's an assistance group for Aussies and New Zealanders who play Day Z, basically we help anyone who needs it (bandits withholding) and even set up a community camp.
We assumed it was going to go to hell and everyone would just steal stuff but people have actually been adding more items to the tents.

Shit like that restores faith in humanity

Good to know that peace efforts and medical/food aid in developing countries hasn't restored your faith, but something relating to a video game on the internet has.

Never said it didn't.. But c'mon man, this is a video game. One that generates alot of mistrust and hate, where you can easily abuse and use people without any consequences. It's nice to see that in a game with no rules, things like this still happens. Nobody can force people to be nice in dayz man.
That's some poetry..
I love fucking with people in this game. As in, not actually shooting them, but lying on a vantage point, seeing two dudes sneak around, shoot near them and watch them freak out. Good times.
Just released a series of 3 videos, where we have an adventure with a car.
Part 2 is definitely the best of the 3, so if you can't be bothered to watch all 3, 2 is the one to check out.

So I was hanging out at the barns near Solnichniy on a public server when I hear someone taking potshots with a Winchester. I hide in the barn and look around to see a dude fighting zombies, so I waited for him to finish up and I ran out saying 'friendly, friendly' down the mic. He looked as if he was training his sights on me because I had no reply back, so I just popped him with a CZ 550 and ended up giving his corpse cunningulus.

Cunnilingus is usually the way I honor the dead as well
It's the best way I think
Something awesome happened today, had to share it with someone else.
Having spent all day skulking around Elektrozavodsk being shot at and killed by bandits and snipers, my friend Stu and I were thinking about calling it a night. We were on a server with side channel enabled and had just spent a few hours with a Scottish guy we met in-game, who had now left after we all died in Chernogorsk fire station.
Just as we respawned and met up on the coast in Elektro, a message came over side chat asking for engine parts to fix a van. I had spotted one at the dock area near Drakon in my run from spawn to Elektro, so we agreed to help these guys out since they were nearby, and in return they offered us a drive to a destination of our choosing. After grabbing the parts we waited at the dock for a while for these guys to show up, and eventually we were waved down from the hill just east of the place by a guy in camo clothing with an FAL. Almost immediately we became suspicious, but both agreed to go along anyway since we were close to getting off and dying again would be a natural end point.
A short run later we found the van hidden in some bushes just along from the dock, and we both barrelled in after repairing the van's poorly engine.
After this, something amazing started to come together. We hid near the beach east of Elektro and began chatting with various people in side chat, trying to find any friendlies nearby who were up for a ride. A short while later our little blue van was completely full of awesome dudes, and our driver said he would take us up towards Berezino and Stary Sobor to get tooled up (since we were mostly fresh spawns). Witty banter made the journey fly, and after a quick fuel-up we were soon headed to our driver's home base where he had promised myself and my friend a fully-functional bike. We were still suspicious, but went along.
On the way to the base our driver (can't remember his name) mentioned some of his group's other scores; a jeep, two bikes, a boat and a shedload of weapons and ammunition. We all marvelled at his success - all apparently achieved within two days play on the server. He was even planning on repairing a helicopter he had found.
Further down the road, and as it happens just a few hundred meters outside the base we found a chopper crash, and I managed to score an FAL for which our driver gave me a magazine. After some accidental disconnects and reconnects we drove over to the base - an ominous looking construction site, overgrown and walled off all around. Instead of killing us or taking us hostage or doing any of the things we expected him to do our driver stayed true to his word and handed myself and Stu a brand new bike - complete with flame paint job.
At this point a bus was mentioned, and instead of selfishly taking off with our new bike we decided to stay with the group and help our driver fix it. It was parked in a nearby town in front of a supermarket and fixing it proved to be a challenge; the area swarmed with Z's attracted by our zombie dinner bells (FAL, Lee Enfield etc). After emptying my one and only FAL mag I switched to my axe, but after only a few kills I got swarmed by the hungry undead who knocked me out and started munching on me (I'm not brilliant under pressure). Stu came heroically to my aid, using his double-barrelled shotgun to shred the zombies tasting my marrow and tried to drag me to the side of the road. At this point I woke back up, bandaged myself and we all managed to cover Stu while he went back and forth between the little blue van and the bus attaching parts one at a time. With everything attached, we all piled into the van like a bunch of terrified schoolgirls and rushed back up the hill out of town to elude the zombies.
At the top of the hill, we disembarked and attended to medical and food needs.
Then, before we could collect ourselves, our driver grabbed something out of the van's gear.
"Hold on" our driver said simply before charging back into the swarming town we had all just fled.
"What's going on? Where's he going?" I asked.
"Did he go back to get the bus?" quizzed one of the guys still sitting in the idling van.
"Don't know, it still needs a fuel tank" replied Stu.
Some time passed. We continued to fend off the zombies who had chased us up the long hill into town.
At that moment the familiar drone of a vehicle startled our hearing. We all turned to look into the town as the sound got louder, then was punctuated by the unmistakable sound of a bus horn.
"Hahaha, that crazy bastard!"
The bus lurched itself up the hill towards us; a beautiful sight and ample reward for our efforts.
We all piled back into the van and accelerated back towards our base to clear the road. Once we arrived back we all exchanged food, ammo, gear and Skype details, and Stu and I said our goodbyes (it was 3:00AM GMT at this point, and the server was getting dark).
By far, this was one of the most awesome experiences I've ever had on DayZ. I felt the need to share it because I was getting so sick of spending my entire time on a server being shot by smug bandits camped out on rooftops with sniper rifles. Literally, this is all we've been able to do for the last week or so. Finding the our Scottish friend and then these guys in one day more than made up for the last 50 times I've been shot in Cherno whilst unarmed and collecting basic gear.

I hope you're joking around man, if you're basing your perception of humanity off how someone behaves in a video game then you've got a terrible view of our society. People behave in ways they never would/will, and those who restrain those urges to flip out and shoot people doesn't make them a better person, it just means that they don't want to cut loose and go psychopathic.
You've got some strange opinions lately, Mjans.
Is there a slenderman mod\server yet? The forestry, darkness, ambient noise and overall creepiness really set the scene for some sort of slenderman thing. Of course I would shit uranium blocks because I'm a pussy, but i just think it'd be a good addition to a modification of some sort.
Im pretty bored of this hacking shit so Im going to whitelist the server, post in the thread if you want in.
Include your ingame name.
