was in a namalsk server that was bugged to hell, no one could die. you hit, shoot anyone, you just didnt bleed or die. i was at old hospital and found 5 people and we were all so confused.
its funny how fast the community changes. "i cant kill you? oh, well...could you give me a blood transfusion?" "yeah sure dude"
everyone just gave everyone food, ammo and blood and we all left lol
Reposting that from lmao because it will be lost there in a hour

Write "love to exploit" and it applies to WarZ too
I can't wait for more news on the standalone game. It's killing me softly.
Johnny Guitar is a lifesaver, and a credit to society. I'm back in game with my buddy thanks to him. I owe him one.
I remember that rocket said something about "duct tape" in standalone... I think it would be the new "tincans" thing. Everything that you need to fix including flashlights on guns would need duct tape :v:
Repair everything with duct tape.
so does anyone know (naively hope [dream]) that the standalone version will be better optimized so I can go into cities/be near buildings without my framerate keeling over and dying
so does anyone know (naively hope [dream]) that the standalone version will be better optimized so I can go into cities/be near buildings without my framerate keeling over and dying
They've optimized the zombies a lot and I imagine they've made the cities a bit less snafu

It will be better. Zombie AI got remodelled, before standalone they used common soldier AI which also had way to many actions at once and was generally heavy on CPU usage. Now they removed everything from that soldier AI and made an "zombie AI"
Performance and anti-hacking is their number one goal for alpha! So expect some way better performance.
Not almost crashing from zooming in on grass would be a great place to start.

Simply go into the editor, put viewdistance on 1200 in options and go into elektro without any ai placement. Check your FPS with fraps or some programm and then continue to put groups of AI (that fight eachother) somewhere into the city and again walk in. Check how far you can go, you should atleast be able to have some groups fighting without fps issues.

I think that haves something to do with the CPU/HDD. You got AA off?

Well, it's just really laggy. I can look at it and stuff, but it lags its' ass off. Also I have it on 16x (Can't remember more than 16x)

You mean 16x anti aliasing? I surely hope not! You really need some kickass CPU for an high AA setting. Anisotropic filtering however should not impact your fps as much.
You need to take some factors together that make the game laggy:
-DayZ is horrible optimized currently and really lags you out easily.
-MP in Arma 2 usually takes a bit more PC performance and might drop your FPS by a bit on same settings as singleplayer
-CPU is the keyword to great performance in arma 2
-Object detail and that other setting there (forgot how its called) really affect FPS (in cities too)
Make sure to try it in editor or singleplayer, don't use DayZ as some sort of Benchmark or FPS test.
Is there any reason I cannot actually join servers with DayZ commander? I just installed it, and nothing works.

It's the same in ARMA 2, both Wasteland and Domination. Annoying as hell, but it's how it is.
I think I have a "kickass CPU", i5 2500k. So it shouldn't be a problem.
I have an i2 quad
You have a kickass CPU to me anyway

Is it overclocked to 4.4ghz or such? Some people said it put up about 15 FPS everywhere.
And wasteland / dayz is really FPS hungry for me atleast.
[editline]11th November 2012[/editline]
And I am getting an high end pc with an 4.4ghz i5 2500k in a week so I hope it can pull it off :v:
Wasteland is pretty power craving because of the 50000k vehicles and things existing and being in motion at the same time, aswell as alot of players and NPC.
Small question:
When DayZ standalone launches, who's going to make the thread for it? Somebody already got ideas?
found a m136 swag swag swag
Small question:

We'll probably just use this until it runs it's course
only 8000k more posts to go, this will run for awhile.
Will probably explode when standalone gets released though,
god went into object all and someone must've been loot farming that place. a pile with every m4, dmr's, mk48, m24 and all the ammo
i shit my pants in excitement, got my friend there and we stocked up and were now camping the place. i was so happy
For some reason, when I try and launch through Commander, it says "dayz_anim requires addon CASigns2" I've got everything required, so I don't get what's up.
I can get you a arma 2 oa key for 3$
You should fuck off, because selling stolen keys is a bad thing to do.
I can get you a arma 2 oa key for 3$
You registered this month, have three posts and are attempting to barter what is most likely a stolen key. There might even be a chance that you're the guy who stole my key. Please take your business elsewhere.
If there's a way to get valve to remove ArmA from your steam account, I'll gift you a new copy.

Hey man, Johnny Guitar hooked me up with a new key - I just think that guy offering cheap keys is probably the kind of guy who stole mine with a program that breaks in to the registry, grabs your encrypted key, decrypts it and sends it off elsewhere. Thanks for the offer though c: <3
I love this forum sometimes. Y'all be so hospitalic
