been trying to get back in to dayz but my arma 2 OA keeps giving me bad serial key errors on start up iv even tried the reg edit fix to no avail
Can't wait until standalone comes out so I can uninstall both ARMA 2 and OA, those fuckers take up 14 of my precious gigabytes
I played DayZ for my first time just now, ran around in the forest a lot, then a single zombie chased me for 5 minutes and I had no way to attack, eventually shook him off. I was very thirsty, but could not find any supplies in towns, but didn't want to risk traveling to cities. I found a military base with some medical tents, but there were already two players fighting zombies in the deer stands surrounding it. Didn't want to interfere, knowing they could be hostile and the zombies would probably get to me first. Eventually found empty cans and a hatchet in a small warehouse/storage thingy, but I was bleeding and had no bandages. Decided, screw it, just murder as many zombies possible before I bleed to death. Did just that.
Probably survived for a bit over an hour.
I'm gonna wait for the standalone rather than buy a new key - they say the standalone will be around £15.
I can't wait.

I fear that because he is releasing so early that certain features may not be present and that this will possibly irk people. Such as using a modified Chenarus, most people flipped out when I told them he was using a modded Chenarus

You forgot sounds - DayZ probably only uses like 10-20% of the sounds actually in ArmA2/OA (including voice acting and such), and high quality sound files aren't exactly small.
Might host a server if anyone still wants somewhere to play. Norwegian host, would probably be private hive on x map.
My Arma 2 directory folder is actually 70gb.
I love mods.
Mine is around 10GB, but that's because I migrated my OA folder with my arma 2 folder :v:

Wasn't even aware of this at the time, but when I wiped my group's rMod server to replace Saintly with Bliss, everyone in the server started out as a fresh spawn.
Within 15 minutes someone named "FrankieonPC" had an AS50 with all the trimmings, and a hero skin.
I only noticed it on pure chance when checking the database and I banned him.
After this happened, his group of friends started a shit storm and I got rid of them also. This happened in late September so I'm not even sure if it was the real Frankie or an imposter. I wasn't even aware he was a semi-famous YouTuber until after.
Shit, so we had like a group of like 12 players, but half of them betrayed us when we logged off and stole three urals full of food, medicine, gear and weapons.
It's going to be a fucking crusade tomorrow as we burn their camp to the ground and hunt every last traitor down.

If someone ran into frankie, id wish they ran fraps and shot the SHIT out of him to prove he hacks.
Frankie deserves a good ol' ban for each video he fails to conceal he's hacking fully. And he would probably buy new keys to do it again, and then that one would be banned.
Now now guys, frankie hacking is kind of a dick move, but c'mon, he's atleast hacking for a good cause. Well, he hacks to make more money, but he doesn't kill anyone apart from people randomly killing, which is a huge problem in Day Z, right? It isn't [I]that[/I] bad.
Even good hackers deserve to be banned, since they do hack after all

Im so pissed at myself, me and a friend made it up to Devils Castle after a 2hr walk or something, I've got alot of awesome gear saved up on a survivor who's about 100 days old, and I decide to walk along the trims on the castle-walls to see how far I could go.
My face when I plummet into the ground, breaking my leg and die while my friend is watching.
Curious as to whether people actually play legit servers still or "private" servers now.
