My advice, wait for the standalone.
Standalone big news should be coming in a day or two. Rocket said that last week when he posted the new devblog thing. They are currently testing the new client server system and if it really works so expect a YES or MAYBE NO about a release in december.

It's not confirmed yet, they don't rush things and if it will be pushed back to january then there will be an open discussion about that. It's what rocket said.
Just got Day Z and I've enjoyed the hell out of it, got some good stuff and everything was going fine.
Then I log back in and Monky Monitor appears, but I just ignore it thinking the server had something installed in my absence, so I go to the Northwest Airfield and proceed to bleed out.
Quickly left and survived and I'm just going to wait till admins get rid of Monky Monitor or something.
Other than that this game is incredibly addicting.

Me and 2 friends started to build a Woodbury like camp from The Walking Dead in Taviana. It's gonna be awesome once it's perfectly safe.

Taviana is amazing.
It's big and shows a lot more variety than chernarus. I am loving the big detailed cities.

Recently got back into this after a month just playing Warz. It's nice to be back on Dayz, started out fresh with first time on Namalsk. I like the foliage and the snowcap hills but lots of walking for what it's worth.
Is there a way to tone down the way everything turns fucking phosphorous-eyerape level bright when you look downwards at all?

All the spawns in Namalsk are really close to things. It'd be a good idea using the map.
