sure it's not THAT hard to install dayz normally but it's much much easier to just click a few buttons on dayz commander and be done with it [editline]25th December 2012[/editline] 1. download dayzcommander 2. click install dayz 3. sit back and enjoy dayz
I mainly use it because of the serverbrowser and up/downgrader, since I *wrote* the guide for how to install DayZ manually
I have no idea why anyone uses shit like Six and Commander It's seriously not THAT hard to install DayZ normally 1. Download Dayz 2. Put the .PBOs and the like into a @DayZ\Addons folder 3. Put the @DayZ folder into the main OA directory (steam or otherwise(I'll assume steam)) 4. Go to advanced launch options in OA's properties section 5. Insert: -mod=@DayZ 6. Sit back and enjoy DayZ
Maybe because it's way easier and it helps you keep all of your shit up to date.

so i decided i really don't like bloodsuckers as of now in namalsk i just got surrounded by 3 or 4 of them, and since it takes like 5 headshots to down one, they're really overpowered right now namalsk is already a hard enough map

Can't seem to find the FP servers. Tried looking for them manually and with filters :/
so i just got arma2 combined operations on steam and im trying to get dayz to work please bear with me if my problem is caused by me being retarded & sorry for annoying you all but here goes: i installed arma2 and expansion on steam i got DayZCommander i installed all the patched listed in the dayz commander thing (ARMA2 99515, DayZ 1.7.4.4) as well as the "additional mods" (Whatever those are...) and it says up to date on every single thing. ok so when I join a server in the list, hardly any are working. the game starts up in steam and gives me the message "bad version, server rejected connection" so heres the obvious question, how do I fix this? I managed to join some servers but the vast majority seems to give me this error...
DayZ Commander seems to be a few versions behind on their beta patch. Grab the most recent version from here and install that.
So let's say I hypothetically was considering playing this some more for the first time since August. Is it worth abandoning my manual install superiority for the ease of DayZ commander yet?
I don't maintain mine, so unless he got banned in the middle of the summer he'll be able to connect.
Is the comunity banlist when it says Admin Ban :#random numbers? I'm on it because i 'cheated' by giving new people helicopters and parachuting cows everywhere :v: [sp]There's a bypass but i'm too lazy to do it because it takes 3 minutes everytime i want to join a server[/sp]
So let's say I hypothetically was considering playing this some more for the first time since August. the only trouble i've had with dayzcommander is that it doesn't adapt Steam's Dayz versions to the server's version, so most server you can't join. I think. I mean that it launches Dayz with 1.73/1.72 when most servers are 1.70. But launching without Steam it works fine. [editline]26th December 2012[/editline] ALSO, after having played DayZ for more than 110 hours, I just found out, like last week, that you can fucking shiftclick on the map and a waypoint will show up ingame. What the fucking fuck hell. I've been manually orienting myself, without that, using a combination of the dayzdbmap, in-game map and compass to find out where I am etc, for soooo long.
Is there a mumble that everyone uses? I heard Knoxed had one, but completely forgot to add the IP in that Space gave to me.

You could just use SixUpdater It has a launcher, you can select DayZ and hit install, then after it's done hit Play Simple as that. I prefer using .cmd files to launch my mods but if you don't want to, here you go
Why does Dayzcommander keep eating my connection?
Is there a mumble that everyone uses? I heard Knoxed had one, but completely forgot to add the IP in that Space gave to me.
64.31.16.232 64748 [editline]26th December 2012[/editline] Johnny, can you update the server? An update came out.
Found a white pickup when I was playing with my friend, it had some parts in it we used to repair. Jump forward to when we were looting Berezino, we saw another one. Repaired it, and it had alot of parts. Now we got a rotor assembly for the chopper! [editline]26th December 2012[/editline]
64.31.16.232 64748 [editline]26th December 2012[/editline] Johnny, can you update the server? I keep getting "Bad version, connection to server rejected." on every server, since I've used DayZ commander why
Hey, where did my debug menu thing go? I used to keep track of shit on that thing all the time back then Also what is the little gun thingy on top of my HUD icons
Hey, where did my debug menu thing go? I used to keep track of shit on that thing all the time back then Also what is the little gun thingy on top of my HUD icons
No idea how to turn the Debug Monitor back on (Supposedly in the options, but it won't let me change it) and the gun is to prevent combat logging, if you fire/someone fires near you, the gun flashes red and I think it means if you disconnect you die or something, or it prevents you from disconnecting, i'm not sure on the specifics.
oh so that's what the flashing means funny enough, swinging my axe or throwing flares puts me in "combat" mode :l
updating servers
Vladnag, please PM me where you went when you died. We need the car and supplies.
DayZ - Heli refueling simulator.
Yea, we finally got that heli at Stary working, and me and my nigga team flew off into the night sky. It was glorious. [editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
Vladnag, please PM me where you went when you died. We had so much fun on Namalsk tonight. the facepunch server is great.
DayZ - Heli refueling simulator.
We seriously need a fuel siphon item... Make it as loud as you want, as slow as you want, w/e. That chopper shit is absurd. (Or is that the point?)
