I was running Spell Pierces, but it never really worked out. I guess I just don't know how to use them properly. Tips for that?
Well the theory behind counter spell wars is pretty in depth. Basically you should have card advantage or be on par since you're forcing a spell through (so you're automatically at -1 compared to him) and since you're casting a spell you have less mana available. Thus you use spell pierces to gain a mana advantage during the war since you spend less mana to counter his counter spells.
Also turn 4 if you slap down a paradox haze and then spell pierce a Jace TMS then you'd be pretty :smug:

What exactly did you get? I can't tell you unless you tell me your list.
i got 3 ionas, 2 deathless angels, 4 tajuru preservers, 4 journey to nowhere, 4 cultivate, 4 llanowar elves, 3 mul daya channelers, 2 fog, 4 silence, 3 summoning trap, 1 oracle of mul daya, 2 elvish arch druids, 3 naturalize and 1 marshals anthem. plus a lot of green and white land included
Well... sort of not really?
I have concluded that it is next to impossible to find the Grixis mythics. No one I know has any of them, this includes people at local Friday Night Magic, and I also have absolutely no aspiration to buy them. This is dumb, why can't someone I know have the same enthusiasm for Alara?

Alara had an awful impact on standard and had a terrible limited experience.

What ARE you talking about? How was it awful? Easily the set I enjoyed the most, and it was the last set in which zombies were a viable archetype.

Fucking in love with this.
I pretty much disregard every Un- card, with the exception of the lands.
I actually bought a pack of cards, basically a $5 one filled with 40 random, low rare/mythic count of course, cards and a booster pack from a random set. I can't find those anymore, but anyway! I ended up getting ~5 Un- cards.
Un-cards are really just fun. A good break from the rest of the game with the silliness.
Speaking of 'fun' cards.

I want four so I can make an Inception deck. :v:

Just like my Stasis deck.
Played Magic today for the first time in a couple weeks, 'twas a 1v1v1. I was using my enchants, one guy was using a burn deck and the third was using a artifact deck. Burn and I were slaughtering each other with ridiculously high powered monsters while the third guy quietly stalled the game. :v:

Awwwww I bet the whole time the artefact player was thinking, "How cute, they're throwing drunken haymakers at each other, soon I'll destroy them with superior firepower."

Actually he had Worship out and a 12/12 Master of Etherium with a Skeleton Shard, so it's entirely likely that the "destroying" part wouldn't have really come into play.
I enjoy my white artifact deck.
It used to run Worship / NDE with indestructible Myr.
Now I just spam Myr and Eldrazi Monument. :D

I honestly make the majority of a pain-in-the-ass deck on accident.
[editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
Actually, hold on. I don't remember how the Myr deck works. I haven't ran it in so long.

I know nothing happens, but that's the joke.
I just played a game. My white Myr deck vs a friend's green deck.
Kuldotha Forgemaster to get Scourglass on his turn, activate it on my turn.
My side of the board a turn later:
Platinum Emperion, Indomitable Archangel with Silverskin Armor, Darksteel Forge, Myr Reservoir, Myr Turbine.
His side of the board:
Three Mossbridge Trolls.
Started playing with friends who got me hooked recently, and i have a green/red eldrazi that i'm working the kinks out of and a red/blue burn with some counters and stuff (a starter pack that I've changed) and a green/black infect deck i made myself. Is it bad that i like the eldrazi the best?
I've been looking for this thread :D
I've started recently too, I got the artifact destroyer starter deck and I'm trading cards around, I wanna eventually make a colorless deck because the idea of having an army of metal golems and shit seems so freaking badass.
I really want some darksteel guys, looking forward to the new phyrexia artifacts too, the new mirrodin stuff (what little of it there is now :() is freaking badass, caged sun looks amazing.
EDIT: Also molder beasts are incredibly fun. 5/5 trample with +2/0 for every artifact sent to a graveyard during that turn.
I like to combo that with Vulshock Replicas (2 mana to sacrifice and instantly deal 3 damage to the enemy)
Not only are you doing instant damage to a player, but it's destroying your own artifacts giving you +2 to your molder beast, spellbombs are great for it too. So much fun sacrificing a buttload of artifacts and having a 15/5 with trample :D
I had a completely colorless artifact deck. Just kinda threw in all the mana and things with Sunburst. It worked out pretty well, but didn't have any major gamechangers and hardly won. Make sure you plan it out and don't just toss shit in there.

My friends and I all have pretty unimpressive decks so playing a card just for it's badassery generally doesn't result in me losing. For example I have a Hex Golem (just 5/7 for 7 mana) because he looks cool and it's hilarious how much people overreact to him, he's never actually enterred the field because he usually gets cancelled.
Gonna try making a prisim (rainbow) deck with the hundreds of random cards I have. There are quite a few prisim-frendly cards in this random bunch that call for a variety of different mana sources that I think I'll be able to use.
I can steal Gemhide slivers from my sister's Sliver deck too (which basically are like Birds of Paradise except not $5 per card and not flying).
Any suggestions? I'm pretty much considering just a bunch of cheap cards from each color, and then maybe have about 5-10 stompin' multi-color cards like Teneb the Harvester (as I have that).
Not looking to spend money here - just gonna go through a tone of old cards given to me by people and random assortment boxes I happen to have from card shops.
