With Duress it will be in their graveyard :P
You'd need crazy amount of luck for that to work
Though I guess it would be the perfect counter to that deck, just have 4 of durress and 4 of surgical extraction, maybe mixed with some blue cards that let you see the players hand or make it so they play with it revealed. So later on should he draw JTMS you could use that "combo" there, assuming he doesn't counter you (since he is blue after all).
OH.
I thought.
Durp de hurp.
Could someone show me how to play?
Bad how?

This promo card for pre-ordering a booster box blows my mind.
That box promo is insane. The pre-release + release promos are ass.

There's a flash "how to play" on their site :)
Oooh, okay, thanks. Didn't know that.
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
I mean, I've got cards myself, but no Lands. And I am pretty sure you need those.

What colors do you need, and how many cards is your deck?

I thought Sheoldred was fucking awesome.
Alright, so, I've done the tutorial. Now I just need to get some cards!
Alright, so, I've done the tutorial. Now I just need to get some cards!
I reccomend getting some pre constructed (pre-made) decks as those tend to always be balanced and for the most part work really well.
My first deck was a precon from the Timeshift block back in 2006 or so, focused around cards with Time Counters, which are basically creatures that are cheap and powerful but only have a set lifespan before they die (i.e. 3 turns or so). The deck was full of creatures that sent them back to your hand though, which meant that you could constantly keep them coming in an out and using their abilities that took advantage of them entering and leaving play. It had this card as the "ultimate" in the deck, which is pretty much rape:

Hm, the only thing I don't get is what it means with target player.
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
I have some Fifth Dawn and Kamigawa cards, yet very few lands. Some are in Spanish, other in English.
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
And a bunch of Mirrodin, I especially like the Dross.
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
And I have an Aether, Necrogen and Lifespark Spellbombs.
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
Along with Myrs.
[editline]11th May 2011[/editline]
Uhh, what exactly does Spinal Parasite do when it attacks or blocks while having no counters? It has -1/-1

Target player = player you target. Basically if it says "Target Player discards a card" you choose which player discards the card assuming you are in control of the spell that says discard.
If a creature at any time has 0 tougheness or less, then it dies and goes to the graveyard. Tokens work the same way, though once a token creature reaches the graveyard after it dies, it is removed from the game.
Basically with Spinal Parasite you need to cast it with multiple colors of magic so it's sunburst effect keeps it from spawning and then immediately dieing.
Though I would suggest not using that card, since it is absolutely god awful: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=73928
You'd need a prism deck (5 colors) to take full advantage of it's aiblity and even then you can only use it twice, and it isn't even that great of an ability at all.

I see, I didn't plan on using it anyways. I like the Myr and generally black cards. I own a lot of them. I actually have two old art Leaden Myr, two Myr Servitors, two Sunburst Myr and a Myr Quadruped.

I like Sheoldred. Requires a lot of mana but its abilities are awesome. However the card being given at release, Phyrexian Metamorph, I feel is kinda poopy and does not deserve to be a rare.

I feel that for one less mana Cryptoplasm is a better choice for a copy creature and in the long run is much more flexible seeing as how it can change type during upkeep.

I think that's a decent rare. It's basically Clone (which is also rare, as copy creatures generally are) but it gets the benefit of being an artifact and the ability to play it in non-blue decks.

It's cool, yeah. But good? Not really.
I guess one positive about that card is that it can copy target artifact, I think this means even non-creature artifacts.
Got a New Phyrexia Box today, rares and mythics I have obtained:

Or you could go simple mode and just use Platinum Angel, then something to give it shroud. Or just protect it like a motherfucker.
HOLY SHIT I found a cache of 90's and Ice-age era stuff.
Brb, making deck.
I think there should be some mention of the various breaches into PC gaming by the card game. I learned to play Magic because of the Duels of the Planeswalkers game (On steam), which led me to purchasing my first deck and playing with some friends at college.
(And if you were wondering, I'm currently using a Core deck made of Green-white creatures, but I'm trying to get a hold of Ears of the Elves (Black-Green deck specializing in-you guessed it- elves).

Wish people around here played MTG. There's a group of kids who play cards at my college in lobby but...
1. It's Yu-Gi-Oh
2. They consist of the type of people that literally skip all their classes to play games, despite being 2nd-3rd year students
3. When they do attend class, they usually are pretty bad designers (I'm doing a design degree).
So I tend to not want to associate myself :(
I won this baby in the draft last friday:

SO HAPPY
So basically it has selective deathtouch that can only be done once per turn?
Pretty useful ability for a 6 cost artifact creature, though I can't imagine it being too useful considering for you to afford the mana cost of the ability it would have to be a creature who is cheap enough (and therefore would die, as it probably wouldn't be strong enough to survive a 5/5).
Seems really nice for defense though, especially if you get something on him that makes his defense really high or makes him not take damage.
[editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
EDIT: OOHH you deal combat damage to the player and then destroy all his permanents with X cost. That seems much more useful :v:
So nevermind, it is more like a selective annihilator that costs mana to use
I found Chromium.
Problem, Dargon fans?!
I love the game but I stopped playing about a year ago, due to expense reasons. Seriously, I hate how they update the format so frequently.

Play casual extended/don'tgiveafuck, save money usually.
Where do you go to school? People in my dorms used to do that all the timed and the best part was that I was the only one who knew the rules.
I'm assuming that question was directed towards me because I'm entitled.
Community college.
Pulled a Phyrexian Obliterator. Sold it for 20 and bought more booster packs.
Pulled a Phyrexian Obliterator. Sold it for 20 and bought more booster packs.
20 dollars?
"Whenever a source deals damage to Phyrexian Obliterator, that source's controller sacrifices that many permanents."
I don't know, I think you could have gotten more than that. Or at least put it to really good use.
They usually don't measure cards by its worth playing, but the market price. A 20 for a card that's supposedly in the 15-20 range is pretty good.
