They usually don't measure cards by its worth playing, but the market price. A 20 for a card that's supposedly in the 15-20 range is pretty good.
Basically this, unless trading.
20 dollars? "Whenever a source deals damage to Phyrexian Obliterator, that source's controller sacrifices that many permanents." I don't know, I think you could have gotten more than that. Or at least put it to really good use.
It doesnt go well with my decks and I knew what card I actually needed so I figured I might aswell as sell it to a buddy who needed it rather than just let it sit in a binder. Currently looking for a good priced Painter's assistant.
Someone has something to learn about market economics.
So, I recently started playing again with some buddies who live close by. We've mostly been doing drafts, because over half of the group is new, and there are nearly 10 of us. We basically just buy a booster box and get way more for our money than going to a sanctioned draft. One of the friends and I have been to dozens of drafts, so we know how to set them up and what not. It's pretty fucking fun. Also, does anyone have a really awesome mono black control decklist? Black has always been my favorite color to play, but every time I try to make a black control deck, I can't seem to beat the other decks I already have. Even ones that I feel are mediocre. I have loads of great black cards, such as a playset of Hypnotic Specters, Dark Rituals, Faceless Butchers, 2 Grave Titans, A Nightmare, some Corrupts, and various other great cards. I just can't seem to find a balance that works for me.

Maaaan I'm going to be so happy once the next expansion block comes out. I really, really, really hate infect with a fiery passion because it's so incredibly cheap to win with a good infect deck. Really the only way you can actually counter a well-made infect deck is with a burn deck or something that can get some mooks out incredibly quickly to counter the flood of low-power infect creatures. Mostly I'm just mad because my red-blue deck based around retarded draw combos like Standstill and Honden of Seeing Winds/Infinite Rage always fails against infect unless I can get Guard Gomazoa or Wall of Vapor out really quickly (never).
so I was battling with my friends in a Two Headed Giants round and I teamed up with My friend that uses the Kiora Atua Deck, and then this Happened. minus 40, that was kickass.
Would it be possible to make a deck comprised of artifact creatures?
yes
I need to get this new version/expansion pack. It looks a lot cleaner than the previous one.
breaking: Jace the Mind Sculptor is banned from standard!
Is the new game any good? What are the major changes?
Is the new game any good? What are the major changes?
Biggest addition is Archenemy, so there's more of a focus on that compared to the first one, which had a Two Headed Giant focus. There's some changes to the deck manager, biggest one is allowing you to remove cards that you don't want from decks. Also, there's a new feature that allows AI to take over for dropped AI teammates in Two Headed Giant/Archenemy games. Plus the new decks/graphics/cards etc. That's what I've read, though; I've never played the first Duels of the Planeswalkers.
Is the new game any good? What are the major changes?
The new game is great. The only big changes are the new Archenemy game type, the new decks, and my personal favorite: You can now remove cards from your deck when you unlock new ones. You still have to have a minimum of 60 cards, but you can remove cards that you don't think work well with the base deck.
Anyone see these newer packs? Commander and Singleton decks? Are they any good? I'm curious about getting the political W/U/R deck.
Anyone see these newer packs? Commander and Singleton decks? Are they any good? But the cards look awesome in the Commander decks.
Would it be possible to make a deck comprised of artifact creatures?
Yeah but they're more expensive in mana by far than every other creature so you won't have a lot of success except against your mates playing for fun. Arcbound creatures are useful in those decks, so are darksteel myr (less useful against infect though), I'd also recommend Kuldotha Forgemaster if you can find it, it's fucking amazing. (tap it, sac 3 artifacts and summon any artifact from your deck for free)

(tap it, sac 3 artifacts and summon any artifact from your deck for free)
That's not true at all. In fact, I have a mono black artifact deck that runs Disciple of the Vaults (When an artifact is put into the graveyard, deal one damage to target player). As well as lots of small artifact creatures that cost about 2-3 mana each. I have lots of cards to bring artifacts back from the grave, and it starts to get a bit overwhelming for the enemy.
Myr is a pretty reasonable way to play artifacts. Mostly low cost creatures, and a fair amount of them also do color ramp. I bought Political Puppets. Now I wait for any friend of mine to have a deck to go against.
Guess what just got confirmed on AOTS.
WotC loves Jace.
Six-player EDH game. Three hours long. I won with the only deck that was preconstructed. Political Puppets. :v:

(tap it, sac 3 artifacts and summon any artifact from your deck for free)
Ive made a beastly artifact deck for my BF, and it tends to wipe the floor most of the time when I play against it. Tesseret works phenominally good with it, its a mix of blue and artifact. 99% of the blue cards are spells like Powersink (counters for X, if player fails to pay the X then all his mana gets tapped and he loses his entire mana pool), exhaustion (things tapped dont untap on next players turn), bouncers, and cards that let him draw etc. His creature base is primarily artifacts like Arcbound stuff (expensive, but they are modular). He has several very powerful non creature artifacts like whispersilk cloak, an artifact that gives 3 colorless mana whenever tapped (thyran dynamo) and energy chamber, whic is by far the best (it gives charge counters or +1 counters every upkeep he has to an artifact). Coupled with contaigen clasps with proliferate it is easy for him to get really nasty artifact beasties that have modular and are very hard to kill. Not to mention his countering abilities and tesseret making things hard for the opponent.
So are the video games any good or are they not worth the money?
So are the video games any good or are they not worth the money?
I've played the 2011 and 2012 editions. They're pretty fun for a while, and if I recall they are only like 10 dollars, so if you're into Magic, yeah, you should get it.
I like them since I can just hop on with a few friends and play Two-Headed Giant or Archenemy quickly.
Me and a friend got really bored and nostalgic the other day and bought a few packs of these things after not touching it for at least a decade. Apparently I pulled a few cards worth $$$ (foil Thrun and Sword of Feast and Famine), where can I sell these things?
I have been playing this game for about 8 years. I've poured a lot of money into it. It's a lot of fun. I hate the Infect rules though. Much too powerful.

I got the same sword out of a pack my friend bought me to level a trade.
Oh, a magic thread? I love the game, I have a couple of decks and a lot of people in my family play it.
