I haven't played in forever now but I was looking through my old cards a few days ago and I found a signed Necropotence and a Wheel of Fortune that I forgot I had. i should get back into the game
Biggest addition is Archenemy, so there's more of a focus on that compared to the first one, which had a Two Headed Giant focus. There's some changes to the deck manager, biggest one is allowing you to remove cards that you don't want from decks. Also, there's a new feature that allows AI to take over for dropped AI teammates in Two Headed Giant/Archenemy games. Plus the new decks/graphics/cards etc.
That's what I've read, though; I've never played the first Duels of the Planeswalkers.

The new game is great. The only big changes are the new Archenemy game type, the new decks, and my personal favorite: You can now remove cards from your deck when you unlock new ones. You still have to have a minimum of 60 cards, but you can remove cards that you don't think work well with the base deck.
I'm going to have to get it, then. I'm assuming everyone plays PC, right?

I got the Knights and Dragons decks. I really like them, but I've only played against my uncle with them (Who I'm trying to teach, but I don't know Magic THAT well, and he argues whenever something goes right in my favor).
Played a bit of Magic 2012 with a friend and we both agree it's annoying not being able to zoom in on different cards anymore.
The zooming always worked for me. Just scroll up when the mouse is over a card.
Also, played about ten hours of Magic today. Did some trading and got my land base for a green/white deck.

I bought an intruder alarm and 2 booster packs from the latest set today.

I'm talking about split screen co-op on the Playstation 3.

Oh god the console versions. That must suck for you.
I bought an intruder alarm and 2 booster packs from the latest set today.
I haven't bought any cards/packs from M12 yet. I might eventually, when I have money.
Oh god the console versions. That must suck for you.
Not really. For co-op split screen we just play the 2011 version. I play 2012 solo, haven't done online yet because I want to fully unlock everything first for obvious reasons.
One of my funnest matches in a while.
I get psychosis crawler on the field, and I have a myr galvanizer (2/2), but I don't have my card drawing engine yet.

My opponent has about 5 critters on the field, 2 arcbound creatures and an artifact creature with an accorders shield, sword of vengeance and vulshok gauntlets (6/8 with trample and first strike) so I'm shitting myself. He's on 3 hit points but I'm on 7, it looks like I'm screwed.
I draw

And immediately have an idea. (he also loses 1 hp due to me drawing at the start of my turn)
I end my turn after playing viridian revel.
He swings with all his critters, I block the two arcbounds and kill them, take 6 from his buffed artifact critter. Putting me on 1hp, and since I just killed 2 artifacts I draw twice, psychosis crawler kicks in and he takes 2 damage, victory!
Felt so damn good.

He's my head honcho, i also got:

Along with a bunch of cool artifacts.
Not sure why, but a lot of people [at least here] seem to shrug off mono-black as good for anything other than infect. If you run black, hurr durr you gotsta run infect weehrrhr. Despite his, my black creature control seems to wipe the floor with most decks, and then my opponent goes 'wtf man that's cheap'. I won 3rd place in a FNM tournament a few weeks ago with this deck, despite everyone saying it's a terrible idea, yadda yadda. Tell that to my unblockable 20/20 Nirkana Revenant.
Working on an extended mono-black aggro Hexmage deck. This:

Plus this:

If all goes well I got that motherfucker on turn 3 or 4.

Guy my friend knows bought 80+ of those when it cost, like, $0.25-$0.50.
He ended up being able to pay his rent for the summer after it's price shot up.
Got this in a booster the other day:

It's probably the most useful artifact I've ever seen.
Not the most powerful, no, there are far mor epowerful artifacts, but this is definitely one of the ones with the most utility, and in a multiplayer game (especially 4 or greater players) it lets you do a fuckload during the enemies turn, because you just untap all your shit, activate your abilities to screw with the poor bastard, and once his turn ends, YOU DO IT AGAIN. In an artifact deck it's like taking a turn every time someone takes a turn. And on top of everything else it basically gives all your artifact creatures vigilance. I want 3 more of these things, they're so AWESOME.

I just got these cards from a fat pack:

I'm liking the chancellor of annex and karn liberated a lot
Myr Rainbow Deck (based on my collection, not optimization)
4x Forest
1x Galvanic Blast
2x Gemstone Array
1x Go for the Throat
3x Gold Myr
1x Heavy Arbalest
4x Island
1x Lavafume Invoker
1x Master's Call
4x Mountain
1x Myr Battlesphere
3x Myr Galvanizer
1x Myr Superion
1x Obelisk of Alara
1x Ocular Halo
3x Palladium Myr
1x Phyrexian Processor
4x Plains
1x Repel Intruders
1x Silver Myr
4x Swamp
3x Terramorphic Expanse
1x Unbender Tine
1x Untamed Might
1x Wildheart Invoker
1x Worldly Counsel
Try and get a myr propagator or two. If you combo it with the palladium-galvanizer infinite combo you can have infinite 1/1s and then win at your leisure.

I have one but I don't have it in the deck for reasons of I bent it, I should also throw my splinter twin in there but it's in another deck.
Got paid today so I went out and picked up a 2012 fatpack, first Magic purchase in a few months.
Gideon Jura and Jace's Archivist both stood out to me.
Gideon Jura is boner inducing

I should work on a Soldier deck or something, now that I've got Gideon Jura and Elspeth, Knight-Errant.
Due to my longest standing deck being an angel/life gain deck I prefer Ajani Goldmane.
I occasionally play and love the game on Steam. Too poor to really afford playing it as a hobby though.
I saw some kids playing it during lunch also. Their decks were so fucking big I doubt they could hold them in one hand.

There is no limit to the size so long as it's larger than 60 (I think) but if you need more than that many cards then something is up.
I have a 256 card deck
Suck it.

For anyone who plays the Duels of the Planeswalkers, it's about the first expansion pack. It has a preview of Innistrad!

This pleases the programming section of my brain.

Large decks (beyond 100 is usually getting to the point of ridiculous) tend to perform much worse than 60 card decks.
If decks had no minimum then everyone would make 7 card decks with turn one win combos.

Happened to be the nearest to my amount of good cards(no real structure here.) that happened to be a good mana ratio.
I haven't used it yet but I'm planning to se it as a deck that everyone in one game uses. I tried to put a lot of scryish things in it for that.
It may be larger but I don't think so, if it is it's twice what I said.
I know it's either 256 or 512.
eugh why must my friend be so obsessed with slivers, they're a pain to play against
