[QUOTE=Pie108;34448066]Therea a few free magic online games, but they're fairly crude; you start with every card in the game so imo deck building isnt as fun.[/QUOTE]
I'd argue that having every card allows you to make more interesting decks due to not being limited by what you actually have.

But owning and collecting cards irl still beats that by a mile.

But it's just SOOOOO expensive, that and I don't know anyone in real life who plays magic anyway.

No its not.
It just depends on if you really want that card that is played in turnaments now, or do you want to wait until it rotates out of standard?
I waste probably like 10-40 € per month to MtG, and its not much really.
[editline]18th February 2012[/editline]
Depends on how rich/poor you are though.
[editline]18th February 2012[/editline]
I mean I fell in love with the old Alara-block and the boosters for it were 50% cheaper than the new ones, it was not expensive at all.
[editline]18th February 2012[/editline]
Also if you buy new boosters, you might get cards that are played in tournaments right now, which increases their value, then you can trade them forward for cards that you use.
Its not expensive, its only expensive if you want it to be.
[editline]18th February 2012[/editline]
So the "MtG is expensive"-argument holds no point.
I play like every day of the week due to free time :v:
I spend a lot when fat packs/new versions comes out, then I just deal with what I have. Then I wait for the next.
Recently decided to get into this game, bought a knight deck from a friend and started playing against various members of the MtG Club at my school. It's a pretty sweet game.
Feeling like building a monogreen domain/5 colour deck.

Prismatic Omen, lots of ramp, hardcast Progenitus over and over again.

Draco's where its at.
What is everyone's favourite colour to play with?
Me, I like running mono-green decks. Grixis is also great.
Still can't find anyone to play against  I can't believe everyone I know is playing Yu Gi Oh, and they have no interest in MTG.
Also, here's a deck I'm building, can someone give me some feedback/tips. I'm a poor student so don't advise me to get a bunch of expensive cards.

Red-white is a mix of order and war. I like it.
Red-green is cool too, fast and furious.
Black-red-green is maybe my favourite though, Jund rocks.

I have a small group at school that plays Magic, however most people in that association plays Yu Gi Oh.
It's an anime assocation, don't judge me :v:
So I just pulled a Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and I want to build a standard deck with him. Any suggestions on what kind of deck I should run him in?

Trade him.
But if you really want to, make a BW vampire deck with lifegain. Maybe add some R to get some of the awesome vampires in the block.

White token spouts and Intangible Virtue. If you have a lot of humans go with Champion of the Parish and Ravenous Demon.
As for the black parts lifegain vampires works good as well, as Calkkuna said above.
Whoaaaa I didn't see that people were posting in here again!
I've built (well like 90% built because I can't be arsed to buy or trade for snapcasters or phant images) a delver spirits deck that's actually pretty cool. Drogskol captains are ridiculous and so are dungeon geists.
Anyways, I'm at three EDH decks right now. Wrexial Mill/draw/whatthefuckever, Ghave Tokens, and Mikaeus combo/horde building.
It's pretty fun and Zombie Apocalypse is quite the bomb when comboed with something like Conspiracy or Ashes of the Fallen to change your creatures to zombies, especially if you have good draw/discard engines like say five copies of consecrated sphinx and a zombie infestation.
I really want to start playing this but I can not find anyone in the world who plays it. And by world I mean in my area. Do any of you guys know people who play it in your area?
I frequently go to one of the many game stores out here.
[url=http://ww2.wizards.com/StoreAndEventLocator/]This might help. Just go to a store and see if people want to play magic.[/url]
Ask a friend if he wants to try it out with you.
Holy shit, Huntmaster of the Fells is 20$ right now, and I got two. One foil too ;ö
anyone on MTGO want to get dunked in pauper?
[QUOTE=Calkkuna;34816427]Holy shit, Huntmaster of the Fells is 20$ right now, and I got two. One foil too ;ö[/QUOTE]
What're you smoking? They're at like $27 right now

OH DOG
did a dka draft on mtgo yesterday, played a blue white control (yeah I know it's weird) with wolfhunter's quiver and vault of avacyn being MVP (Ping+deathtouch is a blowout). Did pretty well but I got demolished by a spider spawning deck sadly.
UW delver is pretty awesome and I might play standard on friday just because I built one that's not that bad.
[editline]23rd February 2012[/editline]
I mean I could obviously use snapcasters and seachrome coasts but fuck getting those.
Friend of mine bought a whole Innistrad box. No snapcasters.
Third to last booster had both Liliana and Garruk.
Lol, sold my two huntmasters and my two Thrunn's for 64€
Time to buy boosters.
Also I was playing against a boring Training Grounds deck today which was based on Pili-Pala and Paradise Mantle + every single damn X Sun's Zenith.
It was pretty priceless when he got the combo going and got unlimited mana and flashed Blue Suns's Zenith from his hand saying: "Deck yourself"
I just tapped for 2 blue mana and countered it with Stoic Rebuttal and said "Eat my shorts"
How'd your game days go? I was undefeated up until the fifth and final round where I got mana screwed and then raped anally by a bunch of humans.
Just started playing this about a month ago. I'm absolutely terrible at it though, as my friend managed to beat me with a white deck, that gave him about 15 mana in the first 4 turns, and enchanted a single creature to a 15/15 before I even managed to attack.
Does anyone know good cards for a red deck?
