Wow finally a MTG thread. Trying to make a tribal Sliver EDH at the moment with Sliver Overlord as my general, anyone wanna recommend or know any good cards to throw into a tribal Sliver deck?
Does anyone have any good deck builds for pure white or white/blue?
Does anyone have any good deck builds for pure white or white/blue?
I have a good one for UW that abuses suspend counters and upkeeps. Creatures: 16 2 Grand Arbiter Augustin IV 3 Mirror-Sigil Sergeant 3 Chronozoa 4 Wall of Omens 2 Wall of Denial 2 Riftwing Cloudskate Enchantments: 7 4 Paradox Haze 3 Followed Footsteps Sorceries/Instants: 14 2 Reality Strobe 2 Chronomantic Escape 3 Counterspell 4 Ancestral Vision 3 Mana Leak Lands: 24 2 Azorius Chancery 4 Nimbus Maze 4 Glacial Fortress 10 Island 4 Plains Edit: It's a really good deck and all my friends hate it. With a bit more tweaking I could make it even more effective, but I've put it on the back burner for my latest creation which is an infinite sacrifice abuse deck.
You're all casual. That's ok though. You say blue is bad? It sucks the fun out of it? On the contrary. It's the most fun colour. How fun is the only interaction between you and your opponent is creature combat? Not at all. They can do whatever they want and you can't stop them. Blue is great because when they try and fuck you over to win the game you get to stop them, put your hand up, and declare, No.
You sound like a spike tourny douche. Of course we use casual rules. You have fun with your standard decks, I'll be actually using all the cards at my disposal to build decks that work well together.
R/G Dragons all the way - Dragon Broodmother, Koth of the Hammer, 2x Steel Hellkite, a few other dragons, some solid creatures like prothean hydra and earth servant + shivs embrace and similar auras and a healthy dose of burn
I just ran out and bought the deck building toolkit and a few boosters. I'm running a pretty nice Red/White deck. I like it a lot.
Magic The Gathering: The Card Game: The Video Game. My question is, why wasn't it a video game earlier? Would be awesome on a handheld against a proper AI. Like that old pokemon card game video game.
More like Magic The Gathering: The Card Game: The Video Game: The Cheating AI

I like countering things, drawing lots of cards, making my opponent draw a lot of cards and get rid of them, Ninjitsu, searching my library, playing lots of artifacts, and having lots of creatures with flying. But at the same time I tend not to play it all the time because it annoys people in casual, which is where I played most of the time. I had more fun playing a theme than playing a deck I know will work, and people tend to play more when you aren't making their game not fun for them.
Oh, I got my first foil card last night. "Arid Mesa", I sacrifice one life to place a Mountain or a Plains land card. I like it, if I get it early I get a quick summoning advantage, and in most cases, I earn the life right back.
Just bought the new event deck that plays infect and defile, it's very well made :)
You're all casual. That's ok though.
Okay no one really cares lmao
I only play casually, nothing wrong with that lol I just have fun with my friends that's all
I've been playing for about two years now since I started college. I've bought a Mirrodin Besieged fat pack and got this card out of it, I am quite pleased: I have roughly 8-12 different kinds of decks, mostly mono colored but a few dual colored decks of various strategies. I always play casual. Never saw the need to drench myself into getting angrily competitive in a tournament, though a lot of people I play with do them.
My cousin has a box of Magic cards in a land lot, he was absent one day. Me and my younger cousins tried to play Magic. i won because they didn't even understand the game
My cousin has a box of Magic cards in a land lot, he was absent one day. When I first saw people playing it, it looked extremely complicated, but after it was explained, it only took me a couple of games to be able to play with out any advice or aid.

I think people just don't like blue that much simply because it has no real (obvious) weakness, since you just counter everything your opponents do. At least at high level play where everyone is sporting super expensive cards for their whole deck that clearly own not-so-expensive cards. It's the same reason why people who play video games hate it when they play against someone who always uses rocket launchers or always goes for one specific RTS strategy such as com-rushing in Supreme Commander 2. Because it's so easy to play with and so hard to play against and really wipes the floor. The only way to beat such "OP" and easy-to-do strats is to build a defense completely centered around beating said mechanic... which is exactly why people don't like playing against decks like that. Playing against a deck where you have to put much more effort and skill to play against than the opponent does to play with by default isn't much fun to play against. Losing against such things doesn't feel like a fair loss. Anyways, I'd like to build a rainbow deck specilizing in getting this guy out: It should be noted things like Wrath of God, which state to just "Destroy all creatures" can still kill him, since "Protection" simply means he can't take damage or be indiviudally targeted/blocked by things that the creature is protected against.
I used to play MTGO until about 2 years ago. Shit got fucking insane with all the new sets
Are there any online Magic like games that are free?
I separated my cards and put them into penny sleeves so they don't slide around in my box. After I get some games in with my Red/White deck, I'm going to make a Green/Black deck.

Here's a classic combo: and

Play Red / Green / Artifact. Just cut in red for some burn and destroy cards, green for some defensive creatures and land searching. Your green creatures could be double-duty cards like Werebear, Llanowar Elves, Birds of Paradise, etc to make your mana come out faster. Artifacts could be cheap creatures like Ornothopter or the low mana cost artifacts from Mirrodin ( affinity would help a lot here ). I can't think of the name of it, but there's an artifact from Fifth Dawn that lets you pay two mana to put a charge counter on it, and you can remove the charge counters to add one mana of any color to your pool. That would be rather useful here. Depending on being able to get a pair of each land out isn't a reliable thing to do.
I think everyone should take a look at this site if you haven't seen it already http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/ It's an editor you can download to make every single type of Magic: The Gathering Card there is in your own imagination. Being a history buff, I created a red/white soldier deck based on the Roman Empire. You can make gimmick cards, your own tokens or even design a planeswalker.

Or to stop them from stopping your game winning spells.
