Had a b-day party and got 3 Scars of Mirrodin and 3 Mirrodin Besieged boosters from Haxxer and IAmAnooB :3:
I got these two mythic rares:
I play MTG from time to time. I even go to Friday Night Magic once in awhile. I've been playing since around Prophecies, if I remember correctly. I really love this game but... one thing that really pissed me off were "Mythic Rares". Because we needed rares that were more rare than other rares right? The guys who spend $500 on cards a month will whomp your ass, even in Standard. Doesn't make sense at all. Way to go Wizards.
You should use Ghost Away/Eternal Witness combo for that time counter deck. Or if you want to play Standard, use Venser's abilities to temporarily exile your creatures and return them to play with fresh time counters.
Oh man, I just played with my friend's deck the other day. Blue/artifact. Let me pull up the cards it uses:
[img_thumb]http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=45478&type=card[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=89018&type=card[/img_thumb]
These are the key cards. These two effectively bring the game to a halt. So far, the only way around it I've seen (aside from popping the artifacts) is to attack with a 0 power creature and then use Ninjitsu or a similar ability to put another card into play attacking.

Once these start to come down, the milling begins. Most players only last a few turns to this onslaught.
Ah, mill decks are the most fun for me. I had a cross between zombie and mill when I first started playing. My most updated one currently utilizes traumatize / keening stone combo, after removing half their deck, you use keening stone to mil as many cards as there are in the graveyard, and since half of your opponents deck is missing from traumatize...well, you get the idea. >:D
I also have a grixis deck I've been playing for a long time, nothing too fancy, it just utilizes Jund / Grixis / Esper blades which are really nice, along with cruel ultimatum for the kill.
On another note, nice to see a thread up about this, I'd love to see people post their deck builds and help analyze and improve them. Maybe update the OP and make a nice banner and we can get something going here. :D

What's the problem? Can't get it out quick enough, or you win the game with other cards first? I've always found it to be pretty mana intensive, so that's mostly why I threw it into a deck that utilizes low-mana cost cards...
Also, border posts are the shit. Easily the best artifacts ever. :D

Never had the right amount of mana out. I have like two borderposts that I got with a deck that uses Memnarch (very nice card) and they do wonders for me.

Only problem is its EDH and its my general so I can only use black spells. I plan on using it and cards like banshee's blade and shades form to get the poison counters fast.

Being a history buff, I created a red/white soldier deck based on the Roman Empire. You can make gimmick cards, your own tokens or even design a planeswalker.
heh I made one based on the Orks of w40k

I have a battlecry white deck with 3 of those bitches. If used properly, they are game enders.
I used a white/green samurai based deck. If used correctly, the samurai ledgendary cards could just keep bringing in Samurai bodyguards for one mana each. Through sheer weight of numbers I usually won.

Memnarch is a crazy card, I had a friend who played it in one of his decks. Said deck was a cross between the original mirrodin and Esper. It was a very solid and well built deck, by turn 3 he usually had out a darksteel colossus or a platinum angel with darksteel forge on the field, and usually a Memnarch on top of that. I don't believe I ever won against that deck...
I have a mono red/ artifact deck that I mainly play with.

Oh and to summon it there are plenty cards that let you transform other artifacts into any artifact card in your library

That has the same wording as wrath of god, which can still hit creatures with shroud.
The only thing that would really protect that creature from anything would be being indestructible.
That card isn't that good. It's easily dealth with and it's really slow.
Actually, I imagine if you are playing T1 or vintage it would be almost as good as platinum angel if you have dark-steel forge on the field. It's all about synergy between your cards, and honestly if you some other card that gives the Emperion indestructibility, say the more recent dark-steel plate, it would work just fine.

How effective would that be on it, I got one copy of this card as well.

Like I said, it depends on what you are combining it with.
If you are using it on a card that you know will help you win the game, or will prolong your ability to fight(Say for instance, Platinum Emperion or Platinum Angel) than it's a great idea.
That said, if you are only playing one copy of the card, I would debate that it really isn't worth it, as if you really need the card, you should be drawing it once per game, where if you only have one copy of it, you simply won't see it as often as you need.
If you are really intent on playing, you could potentially use Liliana Vess's -2 ability, allowing you to place a card in your library at the top of your deck, or demonic tutor to do the same thing, with a little less mana cost, but in either case you'd need to have 4 of one of those cards in your deck, to make sure you are getting to the other card you need as often as possible.
But, once more, there is a downside to this. It means that you need to have 4 of the card to aquire the initial card you wanted, when honestly it'd just be more beneficial to play 4 of the card you need. I guess what I'm saying is if you want to play it, and you intend to aquire multiple versions of that card, you could substitute diabolic tutor or liliana vess for it in the mean time, and when you aquire all the copies of the card you need, you can replace the other two with it.
Hopefully that was too much of a rambly, clusterfuck to understand.
This is my spore deck
I usually win with Biorhythm or by getting heaps of tokens and just over powering my opponent.

No... In Legacy and Vintage you can only afford to play real cards in your deck.
Like Time Vault and Voltaic Key.
I want to play a fast white aggro deck :smith:.
Milling deck here.
It's an impossible deck type to win with in type 1, but it's so much fun to play...
I love playing Magic, but I don't know anyone that plays it. I do have the game on steam, but, its not as fun as the couple times really playing it.

I think you mean Painter's Servant + Grindstone
Um, Milling in t1? That includes Alara, and for me Alara had some of the best additions to mill cards in the entirety of the game. Mind funeral, for instance, which mills your opponent's deck until they have milled 4 land cards. Even if you don't catch many cards in between each land that is now 4 land your opponent can't get back. How about Traumatize and Dead Reckoning? Get rid of half your opponent's deck and whatever cards in their graveyard are also pulled out of the deck?
They might not be the best of contributions, but they are still very viable ones. And then, of course, Painter's Servant and Grindstone...
I truly hate mill decks... It's one of the few deck types that I down own myself. I think it's a cheap way to win.
TBH, I don't even know why they made mill decks. Discard decks sure. Counters? Why the fuck not. Milling... eh. Targeting specific cards or types of cards would be acceptable (like Memoricide does) but blowing a guy's deck into his graveyard? Blah.
That said, you do not want to do that to some black decks. They will pull their milled creatures onto the battlefield and fuck you up.
Any tips for booster drafting? Debating going to one on Friday.
