Actually lands are colorless, as silly as that rule is.
Ah. That is rather strange. Thanks for the info though.
So my friend won Game Day today with a sweet Bant Control deck. We're working on improvements right now, and he's letting me pilot it tomorrow at Game Day again.
This bitchin' playmat will be mine:

Man, that's way cooler than the DKA one I had ripped from my grasp in the last round

1. Is the game worth it if I am not huge TGC enthusiast, but I enjoy them from time to time and I dislike majority of currently availiable PC ones due to simplicty and lack of "spice" (just boring "numbers" and manacosts, little abilities and effects) ?
2. What do you mean by those 6 card boosters, I presume you mean real Magica TGC cards, not computer one, right ?

the decks are preset to an extent, but you can switch some cards around to your liking. try out the demo on steam and play a couple of games, it's good for a quick casual match.
and yes physical cards, although it depends on if your LGS still has remaining stock.

I tried demo and I liked it ,however a couple questions if I may :
1. Unlocking decks and modifying them. How would you rate amount of them, time it takes to unlock/price (they are purchasable, right ? and what's the deal with foil?)
2. How well done is multiplayer aspect ? I mean, are modes fun or everyone is just duelling using "top/best" decks ?
In addition to these questions, I have the following :
If I purchase DotP 2013 and the expansion , do I get access to all decks, or I have to purchase them via separate DLCs and are unable to unlock them otherwise ? Basically, how does the deck side of the game works and what of DLC of 7th November ?
snip - thought automerge was on

not sure about decks or multiplayer, but modifying them is pretty easy.
You unlock a card for the deck you play with each time you win, to an amount of 30 unlockable cards.
also i just had a fantastic win playing against Ajani as a bot, buffed himself up to 170 lifepoints through the game. then he fucked me down to 2 lifepoints, i somehow recovered with 3 timbermaw larva's & my large amount of lands and destroyed him.
fun game.
mmm yeah i just got my hands on a 1999 starter gift box which is mostly new.
the sealed stuff smells so good
comes with a VHS on how to play lol
I bought four packs the other day and pulled a Tamiyo and a Detention Sphere :v:
also the shop I go to is selling me an extra copy of FTV: Realms they had for $50 because nobody was buying it because the Urborg has some tiny bubbles in it
Re-installed dotp 2013 after not playing it for quite some time.
Got hooked and played for 4-5 hours.
It really is a good game.

Indeed it is. Though I miss having buddies to play it with, VOIP + free for all /planechase / THG is just golden.
Also, tips on cutting down decks ? I tend to have around 80-90 simply because I have this bug on the back of my head telling me "But in X game this card saved your ass so hard, you can't leave it out!".
I remember my first day at the local geek dungeon like it was yesterday, it was awkward as hell...

You should never take more than 60 cards, ever. Just go on playing and you will see some cards are more useful than others. You should not pick 'But in X game this card saved your ass so hard' cards because these tend to be:
-> too expensive
-> useless in 9 out of 10 games
-> a one-off
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
Additional cards reduce the chance to get the cards you actually need to win the game.

True, more expensive stuff means more chance of getting manascrewed due to their general cost, but if those cards are usually the reason I win (Like double Fable of Wolf and Owl before Peacekeepers deck started to overwhelm me entirely) how do I decide what I need ?
For example Giantomancer. Expensive, easy to get rid of, but I had a game, against AI, but still a game where I could only win if I got I believe 6 more damage through. Terramorphic Expanse before end of enemy's turn -> Giantomancer -> pump up 1/1 to 7/7.
It just seems too circumstancial to keep these cards out, as I could get screwed even with more "logical" deck.

You need to find what cards flow together. You will start to see once you draw cards you don't really want at the current moment and/or actually hurt you because you drew them. Going over 60 completely screws you over because you can't get the cards you need. Expensive stuff isn't bad if your deck is building to get those cards out but obviously you shouldn't have a shit ton of expensive stuff. For circumstantial cards there is a sideboard to replace cards in your deck when you play specific deck types.
It's not always about cards that will let you win in particular situations. Focus mostly on cards that let you win period. Don't play to stop your opponent from doing what they want, play to defeat them.
Did your opponent get out an enchantment that means they can't die ever? You could have cards to kill enchantments, but that's very specific. A card to kill any permanent? Better - it has use outside of stopping that one thing. A card that will deal 10 damage to your opponent over a turn or two? That's also a counter to the enchantment, because it will possibly kill them before they get to use their deck the way they want.
Woah, it's been a while since I've been here.
I recently bought a Scars Of Mirrodin booster pack, got a few cards I really like.

Great set what did you pull? Though I'm glad it's not standard anymore with all the specific deck being the main winners of tournaments. Now Standard is much more open to different decks in the new sets than before.
Standard is kind of awful at the moment. The shocklands and abundance of manafixing means that players can run any amount of colors and get away with it. This means that pretty much every standard deck is just 3/4-color Good Stuff. I'm hoping that when GTC comes out we'll see a true T1 contender emerge (BUG Delver pls)
Eh, I personally like this standard better than the last, but what do I know. I'm pretty new.
Looking forward to Gatecrash because I love Boros.

With the amount of dual colored cards it's kind of needed. Almost every deck in standard is more than one colored besides the red aggro deck I played. I'm having more fun in standard now then I did in the old blocks and that is all that matters to me. Everyone has their personal preference though.

Dual colors are not the same as triple or even four color decks. The entire point of colors is to punish a player for being too greedy, but that doesn't happen currently, and opens up a whole new batch of trouble.
Current standard seems to support a lot more slow decks than earlier.
The problem with this is that the few fast decks you can make tend to be very good.

Also infect leaving the field was the best thing ever.

Yea, because of Dual colors being so strong within the next few block it's kind of needed even though that leads to less punishment for Decks that use many colors.

Infect just got out of hand. I feel it should just be like creature control to bring down bigger creatures or even hurt smaller ones and not win the game faster by doing less damage.
I ran a fairly successful turbofog Door to nothingness deck at a small tournament the other day, it was hilarious, but I only won 2 rounds total. Though the deck could have been improved greatly (it was just a deck I threw together, if I had access to any cards I wanted I probably could have come 3rd or 4th)
Great fun, I held off a 2560/2560 hydra with trample long enough to pull off the door, best moment.
Just tried out one of my old decks (up to Avacyn). It wins in 6 or less turns against anything in the standard now. Things have really slowed down.
Got into playing this a couple weeks ago, bought a couple intro sets and some boosters, have been having fun, but I hate people running Rakdos decks, seems like the cheapest setup in the game right now, and everyone at the place I play at has one.
