I just played fnm standard for the first time in months last night. I went 3-1 and ended up in third place playing Boros Aggro. I would have probably done better, but I couldn't get ahold of any sacred foundries or clifftop retreats besides the one I had. [editline]9th February 2013[/editline] But I did beat out every other Boros aggro deck there and they pretty much all had better manabases.

Made a Dimir deck. Any recommendations on what I should add or remove, or what I could sideboard in?

Tbh the deck would work, paranoid delusions could do with 4 though - It's a major powerhouse for mill victories (Note that mill victory is the duskmage damage, you won't get a full mill victory without masses of mass confusions or similar tricks. Mind grind is powerful as all hell though.) Also consider inquisitors flails with the trep blades, with luck mana and flips you're looking at large amounts of damage on turn 5.

Although, if I did, should I take out something else from the deck? I always like to try and stay at 60 cards, but is that really necessary in order for a deck to work well?

It's going to be better at 60 for most decks, but Some decks that are running just 4 of every card in the combo + land you can sometimes get away with more. If you're looking for exacts I reckon you could get away with removing the shadow slices for the flails. The problem with cipher is the cards are often over-costed compared to the damage you would get normally. Hand of binding and paranoid delusions are the best of the bunch really. Just experiment, playtest on tappedout to see what hand + card combos you get. It mostly depends on the type of people you play with though. Find out and make a mental note of what they are running to build up a sideboard, with black and blue your choices of counters and removal are pretty good.
Just started playing Magic after my friend taught me. He gave me some cards to start a deck (I'm running a Red/White Human/Angel deck). I bought 3 booster packs and he said I was lucky because I pulled Aurelia, the Warleader. Always been a fan of card games, not sure why I didn't get into Magic. Any tips for a beginner?

Try http://tappedout.net/ As a way of planning, plus ask around with your mate and on here - Most people are pretty helpful when it comes to MTG but beware of bad trades/ spending every penny you own.
Liking some of the milling mechanics popping up in standard. Haven't seen useful milling in a while.

I just made Esper Super-friends control deck for standard and so far it's doing great. It's my first control deck which got me first going into top 8 but after playing another control deck which went 2/1 on me. Really liking the meta after gatecrash release.
How does this look for an EDH deck? (including the lands now, no longer 37x command tower) Themes should be fairly obvious. Read the comments, look at the ratings; it should give you a good gauge of what to look for in a card. It also shows you how the game's changed over time, and can give you (through flavor text) a good look at the massive universes in Magic.
Just put together my new deck around Talrand Instant (16) 4x Mana Leak 2x Rewind 4x Vapor Snag 3x Dispel 3x Negate Creature (11) 4x Delver of Secrets 3x Talrand, Sky Summoner 4x Quirion Dryad Sorcery (8) 4x Gitaxian Probe 4x Index Enchantment (4) 4x Rancor Land (21) 10x Island 4x Simic Guildgate 7x Forest Index instead of Ponder because I'm poor. Any suggestions for a nice sideboard?

So would Index be a good replacement? [editline]23rd February 2013[/editline] Also, I play modern with friends. If I do any competitions, they're sealed drafts.
